Splat playing every single popular indie deckbuilder game and always enjoying them: "I normally hate card games, but this one is different."
I kinda laugh everytime he says that but at the same time I get it... I don't dislike them and actually enjoy them early on but they get boring very quickly for me.
@@matx6666 Oh yeah absolutely. I enjoy them and will get a good few hours out of them, but I don't take a lot of pleasure in becoming a master of fantasy themed solitaire; and so tend to put them down once I've beaten a few runs.
My headcannon is that he plays all of them and only uploads the few he dosnt hate
😂😂😂
Hey Splattercat,
We're absolutely thrilled to see you've featured Deepest Chamber on your channel! 🎮😃 We can't wait to watch your video right now and see your take on it. Thanks for taking the time, and we hope you had fun playing it!
Let's goooo! 🙌🔥
Deepest chamber is slang for butthole haha
Looks really great. I can see a LOT of work had gone into this game! Congrats and well done. :)
Nice work! I like the way the creatures look.
Can you give Fallen Knights a combat stance? Right now they have a “I’m not getting paid enough for this shit” stance
@@ImUrZaddy well, they're not. No one is.
When you've been watching splattercat for so long, you remember the last time he featured the build ... and the time before that.
Damn, i wanted to see how that Crab fight played out.
dude I am so pissed....really enjoyed watching this playthrough and feel cheated at the end with 2 more minutes...
Upping your defends in the first couple of combats is one of the wisest plays, any cards you can play for free are always prime in games like this. Also, if you have a push, an unempowered card, and a lot of scorches, make sure you push the card so even if you dont play it (out of energy) the boots will build up for the next time you draw it.
3:52 couldnt agree more.
Greetings from Finland! You do amazing job with these videos and games.
I think it's kinda funny that people refer to that branching path style map as "FTL style" when it's been around since at least golden axe just off the top of my dome.
That was 1989 for reference
Holy Shield! Every time I hear that, I think it's a cheesy fantasy curse word. Holy Shield, that's a big dragon!
The aesthetic doesn't really scream Kingfield to me, it screams House of the Dead or Timesplitters arcade machines with the bloody edges attack animation and the smooth but quick camera pans to characters doing actions... but I'm totally here for it!
ngl, not killing the crab boss at the end was kinda disappointing
MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT
Expected a Boss Screen Loot comparison, especially vs StS, since it was mentioned, and overall, concluding impressions, one more word, something. For saying he played it some, despite him not being too much into the genre, I didn't see that coming off with the much-hurried ending.
He does this all the time.
@@danielduncan6806 Does he need to take a shit every 30 minutes?
Sppoillleerrrr alert 😉
@@BlackGold-fc7tu If you read the comments before watching the video, you get what you are looking for. YOU CAME HERE FOR SPOILERS.
I'm happy they reworked this one so much. I'm going to check it out. The graphics are cool and it's a bit of a different card system.
Ive had this on my wishlist for a bit and been going back and forth on picking it up, so I really appreciate this video!
Thanks for the video! I was missing one from yesterday!
I remember playing old demo and game stuck in my memory since then. it's good that they choose to upgrade it to be more unique
This game honestly reminds me of Etherlords 2 fight mechanics. Quite nice
"drink a potion, something good happens"
Pulls out the whiskey keg😂
What a nasty cliffhanger! Is Crabby dead? Thanks for this discovery. It's been added to my wishlist. Take care.
Brooch! Amazing, wonderful. Cheffs kiss. It's pronounced the same way you would say 'broach' normally but your way makes more sense and is hilarious.
Thanks for showcasing! ^^
the nerd castle lives within each of us
This game is great, the world is grim and brutal. I like how the characters level up and that you can equip different gear that doesn't give WOW-style retarded bonuses, but small bonuses that are clutch in fights. My only complaint is that I cannot up the difficulty from the first run.
Splattercat is insanely consistent props to him for being so committed I will probably donate soon. Keep killing it man love your content!
"Turd Furgeson". That's a new one for me.
It originates from a Saturday Night Live sketch, part of their Celebrity Jeopardy series, in which an actor playing Burt Reynolds (I forget which cast member it was) decided to troll Alex Trebek by changing the name on his podium to "Turd Ferguson" and insisting that the host call him that.
I would love to see more of this here on the Tube. Any chance of multi-platform streaming in the future? I would prefer to stay off Twitch if I can avoid it, personally.
Splattercat, literally the 3rd time he has covered this game: I hate deckbuilder card games.
Do you really? because evidence would indicate otherwise.
Looks good.
Looks more relaxing than Slay the Spire
This game sort of makes you look like a wizard, making magic happen
GAH I WISH YOU FINISHED THE BOSS BATTLE!!!
Will you be covering the Iron oath 1.0 release? Wondering what it's like now.
Splat, I play a lot on Steam Deck and with controller. I would be SO glad if you could go over if the game has controller support or not. Just a quick heads up at the beginning of the video. Love your content
This might be anecdotal but it feels like the vast majority of games coming out in this field are deck builders and battlers. Im personally not a big fan of cards as mechanics or even just visual representations of abilities.
Great viddy as always.
Sir, I must know - do you typically play or enjoy card games?
splat works the card pack.
I am still waiting for a card game that show the actual heroes/monstoers when summoning them insteat just a card artwork :=)
So it's Slay The Spire
Since when this channel become so famous 😮
This looks cool! I, for one, love card games so if you praising it means even more :P
I picked this up and almost bounced off it. But I gave it a bit more of a chance and it finally clicked. I've completed the max difficulty and still go back in to mess around once in a while. I think the story could use some work tho, there's just not much of it.
It's good
In some of these games, most of the cards are standard attacks and it just seems silly to have them as a deck of cards. They might as well just give each character varying number of action points you use on your turn for slash, smite(heavy attack),defend etc.
I am wondering why that knight (or soldier) does not take off his helmet while out of combat.
04:04 Giggity.
Yes, I am in fact twelve years old. 😊
It's not the size of the deck, it's how you use it!
Agreed on the FTL map needs to go from games. It offers almost no choice to the player. It worked well in FTL because there was a SUB map after, most games now just have the tree path which is just... do you want chest or boss fight.
But,
the crab
I feel so bad about the giant turtle. I know that some lettuce and a scritch for his reptile head was never an option; but you just can't feel good about a win against someone like that.
🖤
I like this game, but the UI is rather ugly. I think they could have made it look much better overall. But game play itself is good. Also, instead of the wire map I would have preferred a first person view with multiple tunnels to choose from as you progress.
I'm hoping the card game mechanics go out of favor soon.
Just never got into that gimmick and MTG in general.
Deepest Chamber? What, is the deepest chamber in the darkest dungeon? lol
l1ke th1s channel
comment for the comment god!
Cards are for card games.
Oh, card game.
The gimmick that will plague indie games until the next mega indie hit comes out with a new gimmick to copy.
@@DrMetropolisexactly 😂
@@DrMetropolis at least it doesn't have a fishing mini game.
= Auto skip :)
My sentiment exactly
"i played for four hours on this build"
"i started playing this morning and its now night time"
well you shouldnt contradict yourself just to sell a game
Good video, not my game
i know videos take effort and stuff but brother PLEASE i BEG OF YOU either finish chapter in video or at least fight
i believe im not only one who is like this so please at least finish fight before you cut video have mercy on our OCD
I think the reason you don't usually like this style of game is that you are impossibly bad at them. Like, wow. I've never even *played* this game and immediately spotted several major mistakes.
Surprised you didn't win a run in that time. The tutorial unfair fight is unfair but if I lost a run it was only the first one and I don't think I did. ...Ok I've seen how you play now -no longer so surprised
It's a shame that you just generally angle for the most trinkets (and the nice chests when they appear) as the map strategy
There are ways to remove cards from the deck but they are rare
You can also decide who the enemy will hit most of the time
Much love Splat! Whoo, I'm in the first 10 comments and top first 70 likes!
The art takes me out of the suspense of disbelief. Dorn holds his shield wrong as well for the knights in the second encounter, the first enemy sports a top hat and a ringmaster suit from the 1800s. Where are we, egypt, asia, medieval europe or renaissance europe? I do get it, "it's just fantasy", however the game would do good with some world building instead of slapping random things on the screen. Perhaps splattercat skipped the part where was explained how the heroes came together, in that case nevermind last part.
looks ok but still a card game
arghh card games.. i just cant standddd them. pass!
Fourth
First!
Second
Looked fun until the shitty card combat. There's nothing a new indie game can do to this kind of gameplay to make it interesting and better than the hundreds of thousands other games just like it. Just another thing cluttering Steam.
Another snooze building game.
🙂
Oh yay, another deck-buil...zzzz
