- Here is a short overview of my 6 by 11 and a half layout. It's pretty much finished. Now I am looking to detail it in the future. Small layouts are quick to finish and the costs are less. Thank you for watching.
Wonderful layout! Great work has been done here!
beautiful layout very nice to watch congratulations
When it said it took 4 years to complete it should be “it took me 4 years to get where I am” because no layout is ever finished but your does look mighty amazing keep going man!
PokeyRailFanning thank you, we did move, so now I am doing a shelf layout that goes around the room.
@Mary Lapeyrouse lmao
It's beautiful. It's inspirational. It shows you don't need an abandoned Costco Warehouse. And 4 years to complete; many people have the misconception they have to be done in a weekend.
Richard Big thank you Richard, currently I am working on a much larger shelf layout, a times I miss the smaller layout, much easier to manage.
@@upsd402 The one I'm building is 9'x12 on a 9" shelf' so I was very happy to see this. I could go bigger but I think I'll be happier with something smaller, easier to build and maintain for now.
This is my irst viewing of your layout. Google had just recommended it to me this morning. It says, " a small train layout". Looks really big to me. Bigger than anything I have ever had. You have done a very good effort and it shows well.
It is a work of Art, thanks for the inspiration
A very nice layout. I like looking at a layout, taking in all the details. It looks realistic. Thats what I like the most. When it looks so real, like something we would see in real life. I also use an NCE powercab. I love that system. I have a sb5 smart booster so I can move around my layout with my throttle. I love your mountains. Are they mounted to the wall ? I wish my layout had more scenery, still fixing track issues. Amazing job you have done !
Thanks for sharing. Wonderful layout.
AWESOME LAYOUT!!!!! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
nscalefun thank You for watching.
Nicely done. Rock scenery very impressive. Thanks for sharing.
Very, very nice. A lot of nice detail here
Very nice - enjoyed seeing your layout, some lovely work there 👍
Very nicely done👍
Very nicely detailed layout. Good job. 👍
Well done all around in everything.
Fantastic....keep it simple. LOT of really great detail.
This goes to show you can have a small layout and have amazing results. The landscaping is beautiful. There are several layouts in this size on youtube this has to be one of the best, great video.
lou schneider Thank you, I would love to expand, but it is in our family room.
The scenery reminds me of how I imagine the scenery of my own layout will be. - Modeling the fictional Cateye & Southwestern RR in the Colorado Rockies, 1946-1979.
What a nice little layout, something to be proud of for sure!
Fantastic. Great ideas. Love it.
Very realistic. Thanks for sharing.
What a nice layout! You do great scenery!
Thank you John, hope my present layout will be just as good. Again, thank you for watching
You do amazing work my friend!
A very, very nice layout and video. I'm planning on expanding my current 4 x 8 layout into a 5 x 10 layout with a yard, reversing loops, and a few industry sidings, though I'm not sure I'd have enough room to put it in my garage.
It would be tough, but with decent engineering it could be done. Love to see the plans. Thank You for watching.
@@upsd402 Thank you for your kind words :). I actually figured I'd have enough room in my basement for the layout, which, considering it's climate-controlled and my garage is not, might be a better option. I'd be happy to show you the plans, whether it be through RUclips, Discord, or simply an email.
You have done a fantastic job! AWESOME layout!
Thank you SmokeStack684. I am working on my new layout, have the benchwook 90 percent completed.
Very satisfying video to watch 😄👍
Very nice! Love the mountains.
Very nice Layout.
Nothing wrong with a small layout. Mine is 12 by 8 feet. I'm just getting started. Do plan on adding another section here very soon.
thats one nice layout im hoping to complete mine and expand it within a few years
With Covid happening, I have made a lot of progress with my current layout. Thank you for watching Griffin.
thank you, such a wonderful layout.
Thank you for watching I miss that layout now I am working on very large shelf layout. Thank you for watching.
Very nice layout, amazing landscaping and beautiful mountains ! Thanks for share it
Thank you Ryan, it took four years to finish.

Thank you Scott for watching, glad that my layout inspired you, start simple and have fun.
Looks terrific mate! Lovely scenery and a good use of the limited space! Almost inspires me to do some scenery..LOL
Cheers Gregg.
Gregg, can't wait to see some of your landscaping. I know you will do a great job, as long as it's cool in the layout room. Thank you for watching, cheers from the frozen chosen. Terry
One day my friend,,as far as a good job...we'll have to wait and see ..LOL Keep warm , I see you're having a good winter!
Cheers Gregg.
Very nice indeed.
Cool layout...
Thanks, Moses...
moses knows thank you for watch.
+102553854631435942167 hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to uncover how do you make a model train layout try Pycanta Model Railroaders Protocol (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend got amazing results with it.
very nicely done.. excellent use of the space
Thank you, my next challenge will be a bookshelf layout. Parts of the layout will be 10 inches wide while other parts will be 24 inches. Thank you for watching.
beauty of a layout. love it. its not too small or too big i think it is just right. i model in n scale but love ho toooo! your attention to detail was great love the mountains. you did a very nice job should be proud.
james young thank you.
I love the layout
THANK YOU...for sharing. Very nice.
Thank you for watching.
Nice looking layout. Especially enjoyed the rock-work; nice texture and color.
Thank you.
Damn Fine work!
Thank you Doctor Gerry, it was a fun layout to build.
Well done.
i like this layout. really nice scenery. really smooth running. really really like it keep up the good work. there is always something to do or redo as we say never done just a pause in the action. looks wonderful you should be proud.
james young thank you James. The key is keeping it simple therefore it is manageable. Thank You for watching.
Awesome layout! I’m gonna assume it takes place in Colorado
Yes, I am from Colorado, I miss the mountains, having a little bit of Colorado in the basement brings back my boyhood memoirs. Thank you for watching.
Wow! Great layout. I am inspired to continue with my layout. Thank you
It goes back to baby steps, thank you for watching.
Really nice layout. Keep up the great work. Randall
Thank you for watching, I am hoping to make the next layout a lot better.
6 x 12.5 feet is not small mate. That’s a awesome layout. It’s a medium or a large layout.
Great layout for small space, but you need to do some weathering to your engines and rolling stock!
I would love to weather, but now I am working on my new layout. Thank you for watching.
It's nice when a video maker will mention the scale. This looks like HO but...return to my first sentence.
Nice layout my compliments sir
Thank you sir, I am working on my new layout, hope to have a new video out within then next two months.
nice layout.great job.
Thank you Mike.
I would've loved some weathering. Otherwise, top notch!
I like my trains nice and clean, just like his are
That was a maze layout you have there it looks great and it was good to see it. 👍 👍 🚂 🚃 🚃
Nice.
Very nice!
Thank you Doug for watching.
Nice layout what radius are u using
Custom Airbrushing 22 radius for the smaller curves.
Wow... thanks for sharing and keep up the great work... Lance
Thank you Lance.
Very nice layout. Great rock work scenery! Ignore the haters. Mike
Thank you Mike, I do Ignore the haters, thank you for watching.
What scale is it in?
The Cutest Cuck HO, thank You for watching.
why do they go so slow? when I was a kid my trains could really move along quite fast, are they not as robust these days? Nice looking layout.
A lot of modelers like running their trains at slower paces to emulate prototypical operations as well as slow down operating sessions.
Hi very cool indeed by chane possible to get the track layout I believe that it might work out for my layout
Sorry Doug, I don't have any track plans, it was planned in my head. Thank you for watching.
This is far from small
Small?
That ain't small. IMO, small is a 48" x 70" loop of track like I've got, on two 30" x 72" folding tables placed side by side.
Really nice! Subbed
Beautiful layout! Something so sweet about harkening back to the old days before HO sound equipment became available. Nice and nostalgic to hear the peaceful purr of the motors, clickety clack of the rail joints and squeaks of the wheels as the trains pass quietly by. But I gotta say, nothing but big later model and modern diesels is a downer.🥺 NO STEAM?! COME ON!! NO STEAM, NO TRAIN!! AND WHAT’S A MODEL RAILROAD WITHOUT AT LEAST 40’s AND 50’s ERA DIESELS IF NO STEAM!! AHHHHHHHH!! Just saying those big modern locomotives are awesome, but about as exciting to watch as a station wagon!! 🤓
I know, just my opinion and opinions are like buttholes! Haha! But still, come on! Run a steamer and old diesel once in a while!
Beautiful layout though, for sure, nonetheless! I love it all, steam and diesels!
Nice layout!
Thank you for watching.
Some sound would have made it a lot better
how did you do the mountains? they look great! very nice layout.
I took the blue or pink insulations (4x8 sheets), glue them with white glue, then covered it with plaster cloth. Then plastered on top of the plaster cloth the rock molds. Did it outside so I would not dirty the carpet. Thank you for watching.
Love your layout btw
CSX2586 Rail Rider Raby thank you.
how wide id benches ? are they section
John Hunt the back side was 15 to 17 inches wide, the front was 2 feet wide. Thank You for watching.
@@upsd402 ty john
Is this n scale?
Ryan Anderson HO scale
Great work! HO scale?
John Brown thank you for watching.
You call this small??
I do, most layouts I have ran in the area take up most of the basements. Thank you for watching.
My first though too lol
This is not small... A small N scale layout is on a bedroom door...
I would consider an 6 x
11,5 HO scale layout mid-sized, an N scale 6 x 11.5 layout would big, I myself have 4 x 8 HO layout. I think I would any layout at 4 X 8 or below is small.........Nice Job! Its been 8 years of working on my 4 x 8 layout and its still not finished .
@@upsd402 in New Zealand we don't have basements. No room for large layouts here
Is there a track plan anywhere?
Sorry I don't have track plans. Thank you for watching.
Great job dude! Do you plan on putting sound in your locos?
I would like to, maybe in the future.
nice layout
Thank you.
Nice
Thank you.
not so small to me
A small layout ???, Mine is 32 inces by 84 inches
What scale? Thank you for watching.
@@upsd402 "N"
We all know it isn’t complete, they never are complete lol.
Not to say it isn’t well done because it is!
Thank you for watching.
It's bigger than mine
The problem with bigger, the more maintenance and more landscaping. Thank you for watching.
@@upsd402 mine is 7x4. It had to fit the width of a shipping countainer. The countainer is gone but I still have my layout. It's not big enough to do operations but I made it and it's much better than track on bare wood
I personally believe that the road names are a little too expansive, but most of all don't necessarily match eras with each other
larry barry thank you for watching, I have thought about having a imaginary Railroad many times, you have more of a modelers licensees to do what you want. Thank you for watching.
Define "small" 😅😂😂
“Small” layout? That sir is no small layout
Jesus Loves You
Fuck you
You call that small?
I’m going to do a Z scale layout, in a BRIEFCASE!
This is not a good lay out cus there 1950s cars and 2016 engens
Drake Myers there aren’t many modern cars out there, I am a Mustang fan, and the classic Chevy have a place in my heart. Thank you for watching.
