Admirable how the parents show the gosling to dump and all the things they can do in the water and on the ground. These chicks grow so fast 😮

Very surprised how big thils duckling has grown in one week after jumping off nest. Hopefully other geese in area have adopted other two ducklings--one of which is known to have jumped off nest and survived the plunge to ground. Certainly a # of Q. about Parents only waiting for one to jump and swam off with it soon after.

Were these the same pair that co-opted this nest the last two years? That pair were very diligent in calling until all six goslings jumped to join them. This time...one was plenty. Forget the other two. And did the one survivor go to a rescue shelter? The third... ?? But the "parenting" skills were so very different this year.
