Very realistic narration. Not boasting and misleading. So, thanks so much Sonia! Its a very helpful video. I went to IITF today and found it extremely disappointing. Very less cultural diversity. Lack of genuine, authentic, and traditional state craft forms. And Sonia, even in Saras, very few are real handloom. Majority were machine loom products. Even the ones with tassels are machine loom ones. When you will ask the shopkeepers they will tell you. Otherwise, they may not contradict you if you call it "hand"loom. Also, For whatever miniscule and not so exciting state stalls were there, the rates were Very very high, matching any state emporium ones. Emporiums offer you more range in fact. So, this year its an outright "trade" fair focusing on profit earning and offering more of functional products. Positioning seemed more on India Inc front with international pitching in mind. Although, I did not spot many foreign visitors. So, not too sure who the ITPO is trying to target. Its not anymore a cultural journey as it used to be, which is ok, provided GoI plans a separate cultural trade fair. Globally, trade fairs are like this only, with primary focus on B2B dealings. However, the uniqueness of trade fairs is significantly low prices, which is fully defeated in IITF2022. Overall, this version is kind of a downgrade from the pre-renovation versions of trade fair. I am very very disappointed. And so many I know who have visited, too are sad.
