I have a 2010 Fit Sport, original owner. 98k miles. It's run like a dream the entire time I've had it with very few repair issues. It goes through tires faster than I'd like. I've had several sidewall bulges. The only substantive issue really is that the clear coat failed on me and I'm at a point where I either just let it continue to oxidize and come off (about half the car right now) or I consider repainting. A bit frustrating as the car looks pretty bad right now. It's blue so the oxidized clear coat is very noticeable. It was not kept in a garage, unfortunately. Love the car and I hope to keep driving it for many more years.
Thank you for the comment! I see that a lot with Honda ..the clear coat issue..Sorry to hear that with your car...in the video I show the alternator being noisy ..I am replacing it along with front pads this weekend..I tried the tensioner ..it was also rattling but didnt solve the noise ..I will to a short video showing the parts I replaced..
Same experience. I have a 2010 fit sport with 110k miles. Biggest repair problem is just tires. Although did have a recall for the rear axial issue but they fixed that for free. I have the paint failing in a couple small areas but love this car and hope it lasts forever.

I love my 2007 Honda Fit. It has 262k miles on it. Still runs new. I have done coil packs, spark plugs, VTEC solenoid switch, tires, brakes, trans fluid drain and fills, Mobil 1/Honda oil filter changes every 4500 miles and weekly car washes. Self maintained because I am a crazy nut case when it comes down to maintenance. 2 current flaws, paint is starting to fade on the top and the driver's door outer key lock cylinder is jammed. My Fit goes on 100 mile daily commutes including doing Amazon Flex and Instacart deliveries on the side. Awesome car!!! Damn right, I'd buy another one.
That is incredible! I hope I at least get another 100,000 from her. The old owner was not too kind to her. I myself am picky and try to take care of my cars. How about time belts/chains?
@@CarrieThiery Here's my advice for owning a Fit. The Honda Fit's engine has a 10:1 compression rate. Meaning you can burn 93 octane. Use Mobil 1 full synthetic every 5,000 miles. Timing chains and valve adjustments, LEAVE IT ALONE. If it is smooth as silk, again DO NOT open the engine. Do radiator drain and fills every 50,000 miles. Automatic Trans fluid drain and fill every 50,000 miles and keep the little car detailed and cleaned. I say that because the Honda Fit is such a reliable car. It doesnt deserve neglect. All in all, just baby your Honda Fit and it will last over 20 years. I have had my 2007 Honda Fit since new.
We used to have a blue 2015 Sport manual. Loved that car. This color, wheel, and bashing combo is one of the coolest i have seen. Congrats! Would look great next to my Ep3 with same color and badging.
My wife's 2011 1.3L Aussie Jazz (Fit) makes that same noise. I think it's actually fine, it's just a noise. She's been doing about 60miles a week for over a decade. One year she let the oil burn down, when the mechanic got back to us about the engine light he said he has Never seen an engine this low on oil and burnt out that could still run. I think it's a keeper!
I did end up changing out the alternator -did video on it-yeah it was noisy for sure and may not have given me any issues but for the next person buying it ,I didnt want someone to be like ..whats that noise ? It did get louder from when I first bought it ..But I sold it few months ago to a young man just getting his license and his family was very happy with it.
I can explain the cut-off part. It's not just the small size, it's the small size AND that it's silver/light grey. The problem with silver/light grey as a colour is that from one's peripheral vision, especially on overcast days, it sort blends in with the sky/side horizon. If a driver doesn't do proper blind spot check, their peripheral vision has a hard time detecting silver/light grey. Own a 2012 Fit Sport since new and I'm at 218,000km and still going strong. Plan to drive it another 10 years!! You maintain these cars well, deal with the normal wear and tear items, and they last and last!!

I have a 2013 Fit Sport, Midnight Plum, with 90k on it. I’m the original owner. The amount of cargo space is phenomenal which is what I was going for as it was replacing a beloved high mileage Volvo wagon. It’s fun to drive around town. On the highway if I drive slightly over the speed limit it gets great gas mileage even in the automatic. Not the most comfortable for a long trip though as the seats don’t adjust much which might not be a big deal to others. My only complaint with these is the factory didn’t properly torque the spark plugs on some units which can cause a major engine problems. If folks have a Fit esp. a low mileage one have your mechanic check the torque to specs on your plugs. There is a TSB on this and I had to get a regional manager involved to get HONDA to pay for some of the repair even though it was out of warranty. Also, check for recalls on airbags and the piece in the front end that is subject to rust. The rust recall is just some states even if the car was just sold or ever passed through an auction in the eligible states it should qualify. Good luck all:)
I'd say the invisibility issue for you is simply that it's grey and small. I have the Orange version in Nashville which has hella bad drivers and never an issue.
I have a 2010 with 94000 miles. It struggles a bit going up a steep incline here in NM on my way to work. Even in the slow lane people often tailgate me when I'm doing 70mph. Iwish it had a bit more power.
Have a 2011 Fit with 67,575 original miles that a close relative (Mother) owned since new but sadly has passed away. RIP😞 . Same color and wheels as above and it basically looks, runs and drives like a brand new car. Zero issues with it. It's not the Sport model but I don't care about stuff like that. It gets 35 MPG has cold AC and am pleased with it.

I didn't know much about the car until the unfortunate circumstances which occurred recently.
@@robertwheatley2471yeah you should keep it. The new cars are so sus these days. This car will last you for years and hundreds of thousands of miles and the maintenance is affordable. I commented on a post earlier to check for open recalls and have the spark plugs checked for proper torque. The Fits were part of the Tekata airbag recall which impacted nearly every auto manufacturer so don’t let that worry you. The next time you get an oil change look for an oil change coupon for a local Honda dealer and get the oil changed which should include a complimentary inspection of some sorts and ask them to check for open recalls while it is there. If the air bags are under recall Honda will treat you right based on my experience. I had to wait on parts and had a rental car for like 2 months! I’d also ask them to check the TSB about the improper torquing of the plugs at the factory and ask them to check that as a “courtesy” since it is a known problem within Honda that this occurred at the factory. Unless you know that the previous owner changed the spark plugs which I doubt at that mileage. Good luck.
@@ycoyle2803 80-90% chance I’m going to keep this 2011 Fit. A buddy of mine expressed interest in buying it because his 240K-mile 2012 Hyundai Elantra is starting to have transmission slipping problems. I suggested to have the trans fluid flushed and changed and also mentioned that I would need at least $8K to even justify selling this 2011 Fit. It’s either that or he spends $30K for a new car. KBB has this 2011 Fit at $8050-9800 for #2 condition with 67K miles... Have always wanted a 2012-13 2WD Tacoma Access cab but those things are around $12-15K. Nice trucks but I really don’t need one and it could be a problem, not sure. This 2011 Fit basically drives like a new car and gets over 30 MPG, going up a grade is slightly low on power but is not really an issue. The back seats fold down and has ample cargo area similar to a truck. I’m not sure whether my 2011 Fit is the Sport model or the regular..?? Unsure what the differences are. Mine does have the fog lights and rear spoiler so maybe it is the Sport...?? As a matter of fact I was going to have the oil changed in the next week-10 days and will look for that dealer coupon which hopefully includes the complementary inspection. Oil changes are now over $100 so they should at least do that.-Thx
Hi a friend of my Aunt who is around 90 is selling a 2013 Raspberry Turquoise fit. It’s only got 5,700 miles She has never driven it on the highway and seems to have only JUST changed the oil for the first time (June 2024). She was front ended while parked when she first bought it, resulting in $5,000 repairs. Do you think the fact that she’s never driven it on the highway or changed the oil in over a decade despite hardly driving it is worrisome? Do you think it’s worth 11k if I get it inspected and it checks out?
Im shocked that it wasn't totaled if it was hit that hard -if insurance fixed it w clean title..maybe go look at ..that old oil has broke down for sure lol..but I had many old hot rods many years ago that I bought from peoples driveways that sat for years and I would go through it..I would have a mechanic take a peek at it before buying it ...but if it sounds ok engine wise and drives ok..it should be fine ..just change all the fluids but im sure things will need replacing from just sitting! Thanks for the info !
Best cars...in the world!! :) Ours is a 2005 with the (in my opinion) a nicer dash. The car just goes and goes and is like our best friend.
how many miles you have on it? I heard those years water comes in through hatch etc ..that true?
Is a good buy.. k24
I'd say the invisibility issue for you is simply that it's grey and small. I have the Orange version in Nashville which has hella bad drivers and never an issue.
I agree! Thanks for reaching out !
Mine has 220 is a 2013 5 speed. I like it its slow af but nimble and cheap to drive
Fun car ,I liked it ,I would buy another for sure
Nice I would’ve got it too!
Mine stops great so I think maybe it might be choice of pad material. Mine is used so previous owner picked aggressive pads!
I end up doing new pads! I did another video after this 1 showing that..ty for the comment!
I have a 2010 with 94000 miles. It struggles a bit going up a steep incline here in NM on my way to work. Even in the slow lane people often tailgate me when I'm doing 70mph. Iwish it had a bit more power.
Turbo it ! lol..Yes it's low on power for sure!
omg that's my exact car!! 😱😄👍
It’s the alternator, I had same noice on my 2011 Honda Fit Sport and replaced it
I did a follow up video..replacing w new front brake pads! Thanks for the comment!
Sorry for your loss...
@@BaldadonisMike2021 Thank you. Her loss 2 months ago here in So.Calif was the lowest point ever by far. Everyone goes thru it at some point but it is rough. It still is. I've already gotten an offer to sell the Fit but I think I'll keep it in her memory. It's a good car that I would have no qualms over driving it across the country.
@@BaldadonisMike2021 --turns out the 2011 Fit Mom bought was indeed the Sport Model with the 16-in wheels like yours, same silver color w/ the rear spoiler, side color mirrors, fogs light, etc. All the more reason to keep it in her memory, she picked a good car.
What is the lifespan of this vehicule ? May be 300k then It's an old car.
if you take care of it yes..300k most people would be bored with it by then,
they stopped building them didnt they. I didnt see them on Honda's website
Where do you sell the cars? Once you restore them. Just found your channel. I was looking at Honda fit and found your video…
Boston and New Hampshire craigslist /FB -
Hi a friend of my Aunt who is around 90 is selling a 2013 Raspberry Turquoise fit.
It’s only got
5,700 miles
She has never driven it on the highway and seems to have only JUST changed the oil for the first time (June 2024).
I wish I was there to see it..let me know what happens but I would not pay that type of money for lack of service (brake rotors might be warped etc ..$11000 buys you many different cars .
@@BaldadonisMike2021 Thanks so much for replying! I’ve had different people say completely different things about the crash, that it would be nothing probably as 5k isn’t that much and also the opposite. Will def take it to a mechanic and get the title and car fax to see exactly what she did. Will let you know what happens…
@@Anisky123 how is that 5,000 mile Honda Fit going?
Nice video, how much did you pay for the Honda Fit, I am seriously looking at buying one ,but only with a manual.
$3000 I paid then I did brakes and alternator
@@BaldadonisMike2021 , Nicely done , I am looking for that same type of deal . It’s going to take a while

I never owned Either Yaris or Polo..But you cant go wrong w the Yaris or Fit..Let me know what you decide ! Thanks for the comment
2010 Honda Fit here 180,000 miles and counting. 👍😄
Awesome my man!
@@BaldadonisMike2021 biggest issue was the a/c would freeze up on long trips. Local dealership fixed it beautifully. A/C is like a meat locker now! 🥶🥶
Gotta replace a second ball bearing on Wednesday. Old age. 🤷♂️ Reliability is still stellar!! 👍😄
Sold! Dec 23,2023
Hm u sold it 4?
Whyyyy
@@Ducttapewallets100 AS I SAY IN MY VIDEOS..I BUY AND SELL CARS-FIRST THING I SAY-
I was able to get 38 mpg on my 2012 Honda Fit Sport.
NICE!!!!
i liked your i35 video
Know a friend that has 230k no issues
Thats great!
You should change discs and pads, it brakes a lot......
It has 4 disc brakes, mine has, 1.4l 99hp
I did it in a follow up video! LOL
@@BaldadonisMike2021 now It brakes well, isn't It?
How much did you buy the car for? That’s the purpose I was searching for.🙏
$3000-Sold it for $4500 after I did the front pads and an alternator
Noise could be the engine needs a valve adjustment. I own a 2005 Honda s2000 close to 65k miles on it.
I have the same issue with small car syndrome. Drivers tailgate me because my car is small. They think my car is alot further ahead since they judge distance by the size of the car compared to other bigger cars. The tailgating stopped once I installed a 3rd brake light flasher.
I am in the process looking for a second generation Honda fit from 2008-2013 because I want to avoid the 3rd generation Honda fit that uses a CVT automatic transmission for reliability issues.
I did another video doing the alternator and belt tensioner..all good now..thanks for the comment!
Had 1 with 242,000 miles on no hassle
Thats great! Love hearing that
Drivers seat smells like farts! 😂
No way my man.......lol
I think you are correct lol
Dutch Oven in there!

Great, i bought a 2015 fit with 139k miles
Enjoy ,you have low miles
@@BaldadonisMike2021 i think i have another 300k on it
Lets talk highway and up hill? Not too powerful? Just bought 2009 with 209,000
its fair..is what it is ,right? stick will be better I would think ..209k congrats!
@@BaldadonisMike2021 Yes it is automatic. It did have the coil pack issue and they were replaced. Hoping the car will be o.k.
Also yes,the power up hill is fair. I am praying it works out. My first Honds. Paint is fading here and there will buy a touch up kit and some good wax :)
What was wrong
Brake pads, noisy alternator, and that's all I think 🤔
Cahs.
That's my water downed Boston talk! I been out of Boston for 21 years! lol
I have a Vibe and get cut off and tail gated every damn day...
People suck! Same in my Mini Cooper S -Seems like the smaller cars get messed with..lol..
@@BaldadonisMike2021 Oh yeah especially huge trucks/SUV's. I have both too and i don't tailgate , people actually drive slower tailgating , they have to watch the road and mirror simultaneously, more info to process . Same principal as a drunk driver driving slower because they can't process as fast. People are dumb lol ...
WHY !!!?? would you do that ? L15 is THE Worst engine Honda has ever made.
do what?
Car is too small for you and it gotta have some rust I saw it in the engine bay.....your in new england
