Queenii I remember you were on live and used this technique a couple years ago and I used it and it works very well. I started pumpkin seeds and planted them in my grandmothers backyard :)
Great idea, germinating in paper towels 👍. I always had problems with some seeds in a tray germinating and needing the light, whilst others still weren't showing signs of life, with the result that I had to cut out some of my seed cells. This way, I can plant them so that most seedlings in a tray will start to show at roughly the same time 🤩.
What state or growing zone are you in? Or could you let me know what is your last frost date? I live in Southern Ontario, Canada, zone 6a. Last frost date for 2024 is supposed to be May 4th. I have been growing veggies for over 40 years. I used to buy seedlings, but now that I am retired and have more time and less money, I am starting to grow from purchased or saved seeds. This year, I am starting my sweet peppers from seed for the first time. Just like you, I used the paper towel method to pre-germinate the seeds. Now I have them in 8 plastic cups sitting directly on the heat mat. As of this morning, 6 out of 8 cups have the first leaves showing. I have them under the grow light. Tomorrow, I plan to turn off the heat mat. I hope that it's not too early.

Queenie is so efficient. Please keep the gardening content up! I highly recommend Burpees reusable trays. They were a game changer for my wallet.
I reuse my trays lol , I have trays that are 4 years old or more
I'm starting a garden! Thank you Queeni! ❤
Yes, I tried the paper method also. It was so successful and also did the tomatoes with the same method. Thanks for sharing.
So helpful and relaxing to watch thank you
Let me get started. This was helpful. I had too many leggy plants last year, and now i understand why. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your reply.@@LifeWithQueenii
So you must be a bit more south of me. Your last frost date May 9 - 12 sounds a lot more realistic.
