When I first played this game I expected "haha funny game physics and guns, ok can uninstall" but I'm a sucker for soundtracks, and this was not what I expected. It really fits the action setting and bleak outlook in their war.

My thoughts on this game's combat OST: 15:30 - I imagine flying nikkes shooting raptures, and it's all hyper dynamic of madness combat. 18:40 - Intense combat with hordes of raptures. 30:33 - NIKKE extermination by raptures, or combat with extreme casualties. 33:49 - fits great for snow combat. 37:12 - chasing raptures. 48:56 - great for training room combat or light battle. Also fits snow combat. 54:56 - trainchase combat, or dynamic battle against active boss. 1:02:48 - I hear some DOOM music, it's cool anyway. Fits for fighting tough and deadly boss, or endless crowd of raptures. 1:06:57 - flying/air combat 2.0, with accelerators. But can also fit for ground battle, if you're in motion on some vehicle. 1:18:52 - hard training room combat, or intense snow battle. 1:21:47 - tough battle, with minor casualties, or I'd say some frontline battle. 1:25:05 - ARK urban-style battle. Confronting raptures in different districts, defending perimeter or sweeping sector, Infinite Railway and A.C.P.U. forces combined with Replace squads against the enemy. 1:36:47 - raptures pushing through defense line, heavy casualties among NIKKE. 1:39:46 - intense defending/sweeping sector with no losses. 1:42:53 - light cleanup from raptures. 1:45:54 - same as 30:33 but this time NIKKE are holding positions firmly, even with casualties. I like these osts. They sure grow my imagination about NIKKE lore and story. Calm themes being crossed with almost hardcore, you can imagine what type of combat is this.
same here, man. I love the storyline and lore of this game. You can even ignore all fanservice of visuals. Some NIKKE (like R and some SSR units) don't even look sexual, but they have cool outfits.
I think some who dismissed this just because there was a lot of fan service totally missed out on fun gameplay and a really good soundtrack. Yes, lots of eye candy (not that I mind, because I love the eye candy), but it isn't just that. It's a lot more than what people think.

Personally, I couldn't care less for apocalyptic stories. That's why my favorite gacha is Blue Archive, one of the few gachas set in a contemporary setting that ISN'T super bleak. It has a little fanservice, but it's tame and not really what got me into it. Nikke on the other hand, I couldn't have cared less about if it wasn't for the fanservice. I'll admit that much.

sure it's metal and hardcore, since NIKKE are being discriminated by humans, and people without any status in Ark are worse than mass-produced NIKKE. And Marian scene of course. Commanders are being called "humanity saviors" but dying more often than NIKKE - this game sure has cool lore.
Nikke story kinda hardcore tbh, so it's fitting. Also, Nikke girls are more sexy than cute. If you want a CGDCT game with absolutely insane BGMs, try Blue Archive. Lots of hardcore electronic tracks, and most of the designs emphasize cute over sexy, and even a lot of the sexy designs are still cute.
