The ingredients for the recipe: 2+ tbsp Red Curry Paste 5 oz Chicken 2 tbsp Fish sauce 3-4 tsp Sugar 1/4 cup Basil Leaves 1/3 cup Bell Pepper (strips) 3-4 Kaffir Lime Leaves 1/2 cup Bamboo Shoots 1/2 cup Water 1 1/4 cup Coconut milk
This is the best Thai curry I've ever made! The kaffir lime leaves give this dish that extra unique flavor that I've been looking for for so long. The only modifications I made were to reduce the sugar and fish sauce in half. Thank you so much!!
This is my #1 all-time favorite Thai dish and Thai is my favorite cuisine! I make this dish using this recipe multiple times a month and it is SO GOOD!!! Thank you for this tutorial so I can make my favorite dish at home ❤️❤️❤️
When i was living in the states, i was a regular customer in this Thai restaurant. Now that i moved, there's no Thai restaurants near by. I miss Thai food and now I can make my own. You are a lifesaver!
It’s my first time cooking dinner for my family and I made this recipe. My parents and siblings are treating me like I’m some sort of god thanks to you 🖤
I made this for tonight’s dinner and it came out delicious and almost like the one I had at my favorite Thai restaurant. Before this video, I followed another video’s recipe and it wasn’t even close to what I wanted until now! This video is the one!
I used this recipe, but with a store-bought red curry paste, to make dinner last night. A friend of mine who has eaten many curries in Thailand thought it was pretty damn authentic (she actually said it was restaurant quality!) so that's a great vote for your recipe :)
We have a Lao restaurant here that makes kaeng phed. And that auntie makes it amazing and Omg when fresh sweet basil is available it takes it to a whole new level. I've turn this dish onto lots of people and their addicted to it as much as I am. I've also learned to cook it.
This recipe is amazing. Just made it and tasted SO SO good. We doubled the recipe easily (because who doesn't want leftovers) and it was delicious. Double it because you won't have any left. I promise.
Just to clarify for those who might be wondering: this is Thai basil, aka holy basil. Not the usual basil we have here in Europe that's often used in Italian cooking.
This is a really great recipe! I can now enjoy restaurant tasting-curry at home! Thank you so much for posting. Really, really great! Pro tip for you at home cooks: add more paste for stronger/spicier curry. If you're not a huge fish sauce fan, add maybe 1-1/2 TBSP.
made this tonight... awesome! very true flavor. fish sauce and lime leaf are essential... I added a little ginger and used sesame oil instead of veg oil for mine...
Thank you so much for making this video!!! I was always wondering why I have never been satisfied with my curries. Are there any other red and green curry pastes you can recommend?
Wow! I lived in Thailand for quite a long time, and this recipe turned out very authentic tasting. Ahaan Thai jing jing! Thanks so much! I will make this one again and again.
You know the recipes authentic when she starts spitting words you’ve never heard before
Haha!
Authentic? The authentic recipe uses palm sugar and Thai basil.

Looks exactly like the curry I used to order from one of my favorite restaurants, definitely will be making a bunch of this. Thank you very much. 💜

What brand curry paste did you use?

This is either the SMALLEST pot or the BIGGEST spoon I’ve ever seen!
big spoon
How have you never seen a serving / cooking spoon?

OMG I WANT TO TRY NOW!
What’s the brand other recommended Thai paste as the link does not work
Tried my hand at this today and loved it! Thanks for the recipe!
Made this with my mother - it came out perfectly I think. Very flavorful and fresh tasting.
This recipe is FANTASTIC! I’ve tried maybe 6 other recipes, trying to nail the red curry flavor I get at Thai restaurants. This one beats them all!

How much diffrnt would it make if i use European/italian regular basil.
@@dulcheleche4750 thai basil has a more licorice and slight kick to your tongue taste whereas Italian Basil is sweeter and mild.
This is my fav recipe! I've made it several times. I also made the paste, per your recipe and froze it in 2 Tbsp batches. Wonderful!
I love the Thai instructions.. Miss Thailand so much..
Joe K i was thinking the same thing, reminded me of my vacation last year
First time I made and tasted Thai red curry dish and was a success. This will be my go to red curry dish. Thank you.
