Vysoké Tatry - Tatranská Lomnica; top-to-bottom ride from 2190m (17.12.2017)

Tatranská Lomnica (Slovakia) offers the longest ride in this part of Europe (+6km) from 2190m at Lomnické sedlo to 900m at the bottom station.
My top-to-bottom ride had around 5,7km due to slopes availibility.
The ride starts with 1,3km black slope, followed by red runs (ca. 2,5km). The bottom slopes are mostly blue ones.
The ride here is not very dynamic; I just enjoyed my turns :)

Lomnica is great, some time ago I was skiing in Monte Bondone, Italy, and Slovakia is waaay better :)

Ski Bum you were so lucky that you have nice slopes because in Slovakia there is worst slopes in the whole world just my opinion. Especially Tatranská Lomnica that is worst :(

Myśmy byli dwa tygodnie temu i wyciąg na czarną trasę był nieczynny. Na własną odpowiedzialność trzeba było iść na nogach

Are there any plans of replacing the old 2 seater chairlift with a new lift?

They're not really "old", the whole skiing resort was build in the past 10 years or so. They don't invest as much into the 2 seaters as a majority of people start from the peak or from "start", not the middle of the slope.

Depending on the people, but if you had no queues it would be about 25/30min

It takes 2 gondolas and a chairlift which requires a bit of walking uphill, so it may take up to 30 mins

What happened to all the trees? And why such a small chairlift at the top but two big lifts next to each other down below? They should upgrade that old double chair given the crowd at the bottom terminal

Thanks for comment. There was a huge hurricane in Tatra mountains back in 2004, the forest has been destroyed and haven't grown back since then. As to the double chair lift: it takes skiers to a black slope and off-piste skiing terrain. Frankly speaking, with bigger capacity of the lift, the slopes would get too crowdy in my opinion.
