Old world is always a good time. Bit I will say I really like these corehammer games. There is something special about big ol' blocks of infantry smashing against eachother. That is how I play my WoC list. 2 big blocks of chaos warriors, 1 of chosen, cheap aspiring champions so I can have a character in each.
This has been a really fun battle, the way the fanatics causes so much havic was hilarious, and I thought they were going to get stuck behind the orcs and panicked off the board! Would love to see Steve come back with a troll horde list for corehammer someday
Sad to see how useless low level wizards are. They can't reliably cast any of the good spells, they suck at unbinding and as we've seen here they are essentially just dead points if they don't get their spells off. I think GW should maybe lower the casting values of some spells to give more incentive to take low level wizards instead of the Lvl 4 wizard supremacy we are seeing at the moment.
I think the magic system should be the key overhaul for 2nd Ed Old World in 2027. The rest just needs a tidy up here and there (1 less wound on a dragon etc).
fasnatic shoudl move towards mall arrow on hit - he doesnt have a scatter rule as a stone thorwers etc he has radnom movement so he use that small arrow
I am going to call the WAAAGH, but I’m having personal confidence issues so no I’m not going to do it 😢 What a beautiful battle that was and not just because I am Greenskin biased either 😅
One of the best play guys!! Anyway one little point to you. In my opinion it was impossibile for the heavy knights take the shaman. Ok that's you are friends but also in the "reality " a unit of heavy knights cannot run between two regiments of orcs.....the focus is the battle..not a little insignificant goblin 😂 Good match anyway, thanks guys😊
A couple of Fanatic Questions. Are you playing if rolling a “hit” on the scatter die they don’t move ? As it was played that way a couple of times in the game. Also you Luca rolled a double 5 for that 10 inch move into those Knights - would that not have killed the fanatic?
@@MountainMiniatures not true they should move according to a small arrow - they dont have Scatter rule but random movement so they always move. As you can see only thing with Scatter described can use hit as a hit not as a random movement. It is perfectly used in warhall online table. About hiting other fanatic - it depends people argue is hiting one the "matematical" line or it is moving on the line and hit everything on base wide. IMO 2nd one but we are waiting for FAQ Also 3" inches in within is 3 incehes and a base size -1mm (minimal part of base must be in 3" range") - so fanatics have like 0.9" extra movement on start.
They are playing it the way they interpret it. I play with moving in the direction of the small arrow as that makes the most sense to me but they're doing what they see. Regarding within 3 inches. I interpreted that as the whole of the fanatic must be placed entirely within 3 inches of the releasing unit?
@willabrador no in the rule book we have "within" and "fully within". On fanatic it is used "within" so only 1 mm of base must be in 3". If you want it interpreted in other it will be huge kaboom on rules. Fe "within" is in LOS so if "within" would be fully in you should have in arc of seigh all unit to see it, charge it etc xd So as long they won't FAQ it it is 3" within. In TOW within =\= fully within. Of course everyone can play as he and his oponent want :) as long everyone has fun of it
Is it just me or are,for the points, fanatics about twice as good as anything else in the game.tgeres no counter play, they are brain dead to usezthwyre hyper hyper reliable, despite what they actually are thematically, and the very low risk is they hit the goblins, behind undead core the best thing in the game for them to hit and have no impact . I know they've always been like that but Christ there is no joy against goblins...
Are orc’s to cheap? They are much better fighters than humans (just not in this game😂). Also fanatics are for sure OP for the 25 points they cost. Maybe they should only be AP 1..? I don’t think when you play ‘core hammer’ you should allow fanatics…
@@markysgeeklab8783the issue is that you can’t “shoot” into combat and fanatics used to hit both units when entering a combat if my memory doesn’t fail me. I think that mechanic is broken and the designers did not think about you could do that. But fair enough i guess.
@luis2864 if the fanatic hits both units it does damage to both units. If it hits 1 unit it damages 1 unit, I'm fine with that. If anything I would like to see them shootable. Ideally needing a natural 6 to hit to symbolise their fast erratic and 3d movement (if hit by a cannon roll an additional D6) and T8 or T10? Fanatics are the pay off for taking lackluster NG infantry. NG infantry are not "worth the points" fanatics are more than worth the points.... and fun/amusing/silly/competative.

I know the energy was fading towards the end, but this was perhaps my favourite game yet. Love the low level units constantly breaking and rallying
Agree. This was a good tense game.
Orks losing to Handguners on the charge is quite funny.
This was the best game of warhammer fantasy / old world I've ever seen. Such a push and pull battle!

I need a full gobbo army please, this is how my army is built!
Incredible game, probably best old world I've watched. I love watching the big state troop blocks at work!

6th Ed magic system was goated honestly..
I think the magic system should be the key overhaul for 2nd Ed Old World in 2027. The rest just needs a tidy up here and there (1 less wound on a dragon etc).
The system plays quite well I just think the +4 to cast is way too much, should just be +2 for 3 and 4 lvl wizards imo
@@felixarbable The 2+ to cast from the level 2 wizards in the batrep was shown to be pretty ineffective though.
@@cavemansam8400 I think it's fine for magic to be unreliable
1:40:00 Wasn't Itchy Nuisance cast on the halberdiers? Because you can't hex a unit in combat.
House rule suggestion: +1 cast/dispel for level 1 and 2, +2 for level 3 and 4.
Otherwise, level 4 are a must in every army which is a shame...
Awww man, 10 minutes in and I can't stop thinking " why oh why didn't you toss those night goblins up front Luca" 😅

Yeah they don’t move if a hit is rolled. And he may have missed the double. It happens

Great game, great guys, terrible dice.

Also how TF are Empire State troops just consistently beating charging Orcs…
With faith in holy Sigmar and good Averland steel!! 😉😅💪
Moar oldworlddddddd 👻👻
Fantastic Game ! With failed magic the game is more tactical as well as strategic.
The audio is still crackling and peaking in the second half of the video

That Fanatic mechanic seems just wrong. Is it in the rules? Can you shoot fanatics into an engaged unit?
Seems just not right.
Yes
FAQ meat i guess
I like it & hope they don't nerf O&G. Hopefully they nerf the best units in overperforming armies first at least
