Did you also know that Heihachi has Death fist as well in the legacy games? Why ever pick Paul over Heihachi? Especially in this game when blocking low sweeps would stagger, and the range is an issue too, I love Mainman's character review episodes we need more stuff like this in every community not just Tekken, he breaks down the characters so well and it's so easy for newbies to understand too, oh and Heihachi also had the down + 1 as well so that could be an easy 50% of your life gone, and it's just so much better with everything Heihachi's got going for him.
'Why ever pick Paul over Heihachi?' Because Heihachi doesn't have the same scope for mix-ups? 'Heihachi also had the down + 1 as well' Heihachi's doesn't lead to a mix-up, whereas Paul's does. He has the option of either a 4,2 or a 2 extension, while Heihachi only has the 2 extension (and doesn't even have that in all Tekken games - I think they introduced it Tekken 5). Moreover, Paul's 2 extension (in Tekken 5 onwards) can be significantly delayed, allowing for both hit confirmation and for putting the opponent in a position of uncertainty since they don't know whether the extension is coming or not (something else that Heihachi doesn't have, to the best of my knowledge).
