You're likely right. Someone looked into it & found that all the TEs we know as Great Receivers only became so at age 25 (with Kyle Pitts being a _huge_ outlier). I looked for when men become able to stay calm in the pocket as opposed to freaking out like Zach Wilson. It's about age 23 with 22.5 being the earliest I've found.
Not good news for the top-3 with the High Expectations.
My favorite example is Peyton Manning. While his rookie year stank, about game 10 his stats improve & mostly stay improved even though nothing on the team or field changed. His ability to shunt aside the Fight or Flight instinct long enough to not throw INTs in a panic kicked in & he stopped throwing INTs just because he couldn't stop himself.
I don't expect AR5 to be ready to start _next_ season.

Great analysis overall. The Bucs situation is exactly as you said. They are going to start Mayfield, particularly on how he played on the first preseason game compared to Trask. If Trask cannot do the same this week going first, Mayfield will definitely start the season. If he has a good season for Dave Canalis, they will sign him beyond next year and he will be the starter. If he has a bad season it will be the end of his career, and he could get pulled as early as the week 6 break. We will know by November if the future is Mayfield, Trask, or a future draft pick/veteran QB signing.

I became a huge fan of Malik Cunningham Friday night, but I don't think so. Sounds like Mac Jones has been the clear number 1, and Bailey Zappe hit a really nice Go route on Friday night and made the smart play from there on out.
In my opinion, Cunningham just secured his place as a quarterback - sounds like he's taking most if not all of his snaps there since that first game rather than split them between QB and receiver.

I want to add something to the Ridder-Henicke issue, indirectly. Marcus Mariota just started for the Eagles in the preseason. Yeah, I _know_ it's not the regular season. But while he wasn't playing against starters, he wasn't playing _with_ them either.
He looked competent, composed & led drives the entire time he was out there. He played better than his entire time in ATL. So.. what? Does this mean the Falcons don't coach QBs well? If so, Heinicke is going to see action & succeed because Taylor is one of those people you don't need to micromanage. Ridder will be lost without it.

      @choosecarefully408 Год назад

@@jonathantrauner3742 I saw only what clips could be seen on these Yt channels that I think the NFL itself puts out possibly to undermine pirating? I couldn't say one way or another. There's something in neuroscience that I'm looking for with him.
If you rigged a car so an 8-year-old could drive it, that child wouldn't magically gain the ability to multi-task like an adult, stay focused & watch out for pedestrians while making a turn, ready with their foot over the brakes.
With men the ability to ignore the fight or flight panic that comes with having NFL linemen coming after you long enough to go through one's reads comes in right around their 23rd birthday. 22.5 years old is The Youngest I've seen with Peyton Manning being my favorite example because around week 10 of his horrible rookie year this just happens & it's like a switch gets flipped. He goes from being Zach Wilson to being The Sheriff.
It _could_ occur later also. I saw nothing in the little Howell played to indicate any inability to overcome this panic, but I also didn't see enough to know it's _not_ there.
It's subtle, but it's often what makes rookies throw a bad INT. They can't shut out that panic. Whereas QBs who start at age 24 may make mistakes, they're usually due to inexperience, not panic. Brock Purdy did nothing out of panic for instance.

It's consistent: even The Best Analysts fall into thinking All Other Players are NPCs & only the QB avatar matters when discussing QBs. I hate this because does anyone think Tom Brady could have put up numbers like Justin Fields did on that same team last year? With The Worst o-line & a receiving corps last in gaining separation?
Brady never had a below-average o-line. Never. Then I argue that it's ridiculous that Jalen Hurts is in the MVP discussion because with The _Best_ o-line & a top-5 receiver duo so great he barely threw to his TE or RB who are good receivers, he tossed all of 5 more TDs than Fields who they denigrate. They often also forward that Hurts has 13 rushing TDs.
Like again, wtf? The Eagles mastered the formerly illegal technique of picking up the QB & throwing him over the goal-line with the ball. This isn't even _on_ the QB. The opposing defense would have to climb onto the o-line to get at him.
People blame Mills for how bad the Texans were. It's insane.

the 49ers QB battle is like all time goat annoying to me just because if it looks like a mess, i'm very confident it is, and they traditionally mismanage the position so poorly, its hard for anyone to ever feel secure as the starter and eventually it will cheat their roster talent of a championship every time, they're the most ADHD organization i've ever seen, they don't handle the media really well partly because they don't have a definitive starter to take the bullets and they won't ever because of the structure of their depth charts. the same thing happening to Lance is what's happened to jimmy G, and no matter what they say about purdy his job security is always in danger, and it's counter intuitive to maxxing production at the position and it depresses me. the Shanahan's life has always been so much better when they've been in committed relationships with John Elway and Matt Ryan. but Kyle is so much of a thot, he'll never get a ring, he even left matt for the niners.

I would say Russel Wilson is in a unofficial QB battle with Stidham and DiNucci. Right now Wilson is QB1, but if he doesn't perform by the end of week 2, Sean Peyton is going to bench Wilson for the other 2. Plus, DiNucci just came off a good year starting for the Seattle Sea Dragons in the XFL so there is the possibility he may be picked over Stidham for that.

    • @HunteronaBudget

@@HunteronaBudget no i'm saying they aren't talented they aren't better than russ and i'm not sure what about their resume ever suggested that. i'm saying ideally you'd be right ideally if there was an option to replace Russ if things went south, you'd do it if for nothing else than to give him a timeout. i'm only saying ur wrong in that, the two guys you mention, their literal bodies and brains aren't talented enough to bench Russ. they aren't threats in any way, if they wanted to bring in a threat, they would've brought in a threat, they would've found a guy with experience in the system or previous success in the league or both to threaten him. it wouldn't be hard, but they haven't done that and there is a hierarchy that you can't ignore, russ is a hall of famer, he's a super bowl champion, he's started 2 super bowls and his only lost was to the greatest player ever. he's the highest paid player on the team. you can't bench him recklessly because you can't embarrass the organization, you can't humiliate the GM and the owner paying him a lot of money around all his friends. this is a business, politics do play a role here. handling it ur way, would get a lot of people fired. it's actually -% possible for this to happen on several levels, not the least of which no one on the roster is as talented as Russ.

@@HunteronaBudget I.E: one benefit for Russ, having to pay him what he's getting paid, is you can't afford to bring in the players that would be good enough to replace him. they'd cost too much in most cases. Tom brady is like the most likely dude and that's if he's desperate to play and its highly unlikely he's walking through that door.

I don't know man. Ben Dinucci looked great, regardless of the defense string he played against. He was quick and precise, having a damn near flawless drive.
Russ performed great too, so O-line is our problem. I do have to point out though, russ isn't a pocket QB. If Sean can't turn him into one, he's gonna fail in that offense. XFL or not, Ben is coming off of having the best QB season in that league. If his potential translates over, Russ is benched, no if's, and's, or but's about it. Contract doesn't matter, if Russ doesn't cut it, he's done, simple as that.
I mean look at what Kurt Warner did. It can and will eventually happen again, so why not Ben?

Trey Lance. I wish that college football were REALLY the minor league, like baseball. He needs sent down to the minors to rehab and reset.

Alternatively, it could be fun to see him try and build himself back up on a rebuilding team on the last year of his rookie deal or something.

I suspect Trey Lance would benefit from being traded to someone else where he no longer has the unasked for baggage of being drafted too high.

No clue why you decided to make that horrible fake dramatic voice for reading the qb battles. Sounds super bad

Your "gay" voice does not mesh with football. In fact it makes this video feel weird and uncomfortable.
