With the new TWRA regulations lowering the smallmouth size limit to 15 inches instead of 18 inches, one of the biggest hurdles that we had struggled with was removed, but the weather was sure to keep us on our toes for this one. A major warm spell leading up to the event had pushed some bass up on beds, but with the cold front pushing in, we decided to focus our practice and tournament on pre-spawn fish that were staging near spawning areas. During the tournament, we settled into areas that were active in practice and we salvaged a solid points day after losing a couple key fish early.
