The key issue here is a lack of EDUCATION. Trained engineers will first make the calculations to see whether it can move or fly.
Even the first aviators (brothers Lilienthal) made extensive designs and calculations before succesfully starting to fly (gliders).
The problem might be that trained engineers once finishing their university will try to go abroad (USA, Europe) because Africa doesn't have an industrial base where they can work.
The people left behind will be the poor, less educated who can only TRY to make something work with almost no tools or financial support.
Most important is that they don't have any idea how it should work because they clearly lack a proper training/education.

@@Afrikleo China is besides building houses, roads, trains, airports in Africa also TRAINING African people. Educated African people will help the continent of Africa develop. However the USA does NOT like that. The USA likes to keep African people dumb and divided so big US companies can take advantage of Africans. Selling arms to Africa is very lucrative for US companies but is very bad for the progress of Africa.

The dream must be accompanied with an IQ level above 70...In this day of the internet, or without, one must have a basic understanding of aerodynamics if they want to fly, a basic understanding of car design...The "inventor" must be able to look at a design and tell if it is going to work...And if it doesn't the craftsmanship must be evident or to the highest standard....Telling people that they are doing well when they are not is the most cruel and counterproductive thing one can do...The first step is to correct a person when it is stated they "invented" an device that already exists, criticize sloppy crude construction, and offer solutions...The only way to advance is to criticize and not be a yes man just because of race or gender or anything that has nothing to do with the device being manufactured.

@@markjohnston2675 Passively calling Africans unintelligent based on a tired analysis of iq in Sub-Saharan Africa. Most of the popular samples(Like from Richard Lynn) have already been discussed and essentially dismissed by scientists based on the lack of substantial empirical data. This also includes the samples that conclude that Sub-Saharan Africans have an IQ of 80. Looking past that overly regurgitated talking point, is it your opinion that positivity somehow stunts progress? Also, a basic understanding of aerodynamics and physics can be acquired by simply living. Like sticking your hand outside a car window; these kinds of small observations contribute to discovery and innovation. You don’t need a wind tunnel to know a flat object has more wind resistance than a ball bearing.

It's good for Africans to discuss such things because these videos look comical and funny, but they can raise a troubling question, one can't help but ask why it's normal to see the next generation of technology in whatever industry coming out of the west and Asia, while even after being freed from colonialism we still have African countries importing toothpicks and sewing pins...

In "the west" we have easy access to many good parts, but note: individual aircraft makers do not make those parts, you sometimes have to search all over the world to find the right parts. Aircraft grade (very high quality) parts are really expensive, even for people in "the west". And then the most important part: knowledge. And this I don't understand because Africa has access to information. Is there really not 1 company in Africa that designs and builds good quality aircraft? I could imagine STOL and ultra light aircraft would sell well.

And such "scooters", more precisely cars with wheels from bearings, we made as children . Now nobody does anything. Let the people do something. And the main issue of dissemination of information, education must be solved.

and even with the law limitations here we have giant amateur comunitys of all ages around any kind of subject you want with plenty of people here working on cars, kit planes , boats , drones , materials , art, etc...
now maybe it's hard to see a kid making his own scooter , but maybe is because he is flying the drone that he built , or he is coding some videogame
european young people are coming strong , and we the europeans including all the non eu members but neighbours and friends have a great thing and comunity , the problem is that we have no leadership

Africa was behind a lot of places in the world due to climate and the abundance of resources available, which made it to where evolving technologically wasn't as key to survival as it was Eurasia. People in areas with similar climates to Africa were also at similar eras of technology when the age of discovery first commenced. The natives of Australia and the Americas were at much the same levels when first contacted by Europeans. Even China, Korea, and Japan were still in the medieval age when the modern era rolled around. I don't think that Africans should feel inferior when asking the questions about what have Africans invented because Africa wasn't as advanced and really didn't need to be until the modern era when the "complicated history" of Africa first started. If an African is ever feeling a lack of self-confidence they need only look at American sports to see that although they are not the best in the world at some things, there are things that they are the very best with athletics being the main one. Everyone around the world are envious of Africans for their athleticism. This is all still generalizing, and of course not every African is an athlete and not every Asian is a math wizard, as the difference in peoples are not that substantial.

Great content but I disagree with your narrative of the content. Firstly, what several of the people you portrayed displayed is something you will rarely find in other parts of the world among those who have not had significant education and exposure. As some Europeans and North Americans commented in your video, you will hardly find any one in their society with limited resources or educational exposure venturing on any of these adventures the guys you portrayed are doing. So maybe instead of condemning them and saying they are amateur assemblers, you should focus on exposing them with the educational material needed or maybe even partner with some mechanical engineers to teach them how to achieve their dream. Remember the gadgets you are using today to create your content on social media was also invented by someone who started as an amateur. Am sure if you only looked at the wright brothers invention, you could have said it will never lift off..

Why the clown music at 2:30 ? He has no fabricator of any factory thereof, so these have to be assembled, built or from scrap parts.
This is hand made and with the limitations, its understandable.

It was friggin government funded! Built in a shop with a material list the builder provided for the government to be purchased...there was absolutely no scrap parts used. This is ground up new work... THAT is the reason for the clown music. Clown cars get clown music.

Rubbish. This type of comment, accepted without critical analysis, is why Africa continues to fail. Instead of people asking " Who is this engineer? What is your proof?", this type of BS is propagated without any critical assessment.
An extraordinary claim is made and accepted without thought. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
Stop accepting BS and start questioning everything.

You are using your platform to discredit your own brother invention. I wonder what you will say when these guys gravitate to the top. Such criticism won't surprise me coz even Toyota was ridiculed it's a big automobile industry. To me this is just the bigining.
One way to reach the top of the mountain is one step at a time. You don't wake up and find yourself made a big leave to the top. Rome was not built in a single day. Do not despise humble biginings.

One thing positive that came out of these inventions is that the concept of an IQ is meaningless. If you give these guys an IQ test they would promptly fail it. But look how useful to society they can be if given a chance.

A phd student from Africa cannot choose what he want to study within his field, he MUST study what the university wants him to study, and generally it means solving THEIR issues. For example the 5g was invented by a Nigerian from the north of Nigeria.

5g was not invented by anyone. It's an evolution of previous standards. It was a committee of companies like Qualcomm that defined standards. They worked on it together until it was finalized. The original technology that wifi and other radio communications for data was invented by Hedy Lamarr an American actress that ended up going a little crazy .
