Thank you for your video. Does the three way valve have a 1/2" to 3/8" barb on for the water pump side, and a 1/2" to 5/8" connector for the tank drain side?
The valve itself has female 1/2 NPT threads on all three sides. This particular kit includes (for adapting to hoses): 1 - 3/8" barb elbow x 1/2" NPT 2 - 5/8" barb elbow x 1/2" NPT 2 - 5/8" barb x 1/2" NPT
so if you're rocking two of these tanks, one on each side for 40gal, how would you connect the two tanks so they "talk" to each other....?? T into the main water pump line? what about filling?
I thought brass was soon to be banned from being used in potable applications. Are you planning on changing that brass fitting? Love the design and everything to go kit but price wise, you can get nearly everything with a 20gallon regular tank for ~150. For 300 plus I don't know if it's worth it...
Brass fittings are totally potable water safe as long as they are free of any lead. You can certainly find square or rectangular tanks for much less. This is a custom tank designed specifically for over wheel well installation, can't find that for less.
Thanks guys - looks great - simply - manageable. What do you recommend for sensors to monitor the water level - and how best would they be integrated into this if the top hole is used for breathing.?
We use a simple sight slot in our cabinetry to view the water level. If you want a more sophisticated solution, check out a set of the miracle probes. These are drilled and set in the side or end of the tank and use electrical conductivity to measure the water level.
Hi guys, This looks perfect for my build (fiat Ducato) but I’m struggling to find a kit like this here in Australia. Do you have a distributor here by any chance? Thanks
Sooo I’m confused. You need a total of 3 of the fittings that have 5/8 barb (1 for inlet, 2 for outlet) I got my kit. Only came with 2 and also didn’t come with any screws
Yes you need 3 of the 5/8" straight barbs, one for inlet on tank, one for outlet on tank, and one for the control valve. What screws are you refering to? If you are missing a barb, email expert@TitanDIYkits.com.
I'm into the idea, adding from the video I'm not seeing that tank acteueally holding 20 gal ?. I'd greatly appreciate a detailed video showing one gallon at a time ,the entire 20 gallons going into that tank. Thank you.
You could install the fill port on the exterior but it would be better to get a locking fill port if you go that route. This kit is better suited for fill port being cabinet mounted but easy to get to with the doors open.
FF to end it doesnt look like this was ever assembled. Would be nice if you had assembly and install videos for both this tank and your slim line tank ;)
You could put a screen over the end of the tube, though we have installed hundreds of tanks without and have never had a problem. The RV industry also dictates venting fresh water tanks like this and have done so for 50+ years.
Currwntly only size available, may come out with some other designs in the future. The size is dictated by the Promaster. It has very high wheel wells.
Has anyone done an under the bed water tank? Under a camper queen, if the tank is 67x51x4 inches, thats about 60 gallons full. Yes, you need a STRONG bed frame using 1530 extruded but that should be able to hold tons. This frees up SO MUCH room in the van. Yes, it would be expensive, as it would have to be baffled, but everything on a van is expensive. I'm going to start talking to some metal fab places to make a custom tank from stainless or aluminum
The biggest issue in our minds is the raised center of gravity. 60 gallons not including the weight of the tank would be 480 lbs raised over 3 ft up in the van. Even with baffles the momentum od rhe water when rounding a corner coild cause safety and driveability issues.
check out Agile.com they have a 20 gallon for $300. Im checking with sprinterstore.com right now because they sell a 20 gallon for $275 but im not 100% certain its designed for the trasnit
Clean out has to be a problem with this tank. As great as this water tank and its installation locations are, the only reason I would not buy this is because of clean out complexity. We all can say whatever about clean out but at some point, you're going to have to physically get into any water tank to clean it out. Good luck doing that in this tank. I would not do it.
We have been using these tanks for nearly a decade. As long as you are putting clean water in we have yet to have to physically clean one. Simple vinegar and water solution does the trick. That being said, if you are really concerned you could cut and install a screw on access cap.
@@TitanVans While that is a fair point, all water tanks in yachts have clean out holes as a matter of course. I find that to be more of a I'd "rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it." @@tonynotstated695 Makes sense, though yachts typically have much larger capacity tanks than 20 gal and will incur much higher humid environments and potential contamination. We have not seen van water tanks require deep cleanings even every 7-10 years. Worst case, tank can be replaced in less that an hour.
Dude the three way valve for the drain/pump is a great idea. So glad I watched your vid before drilling.

Where can a hole be drilled with out damaging anything else? In a pro master ? Thank you for sharing!
Do you mean drilling on the tank or on a Promaster van?
Into the Pro Master.
@@idacowan1082 Not sure, just double check measurements beneath the vehicle and ensure your not hitting structural elements.

I'd really like to see the embedded anchors be metric instead of SAE - rather frustrated with van accessories that require another set of tools . .

does that kit allow you to fill the tank through a hole in the side of the van, or is that an additional part needed?
