I completely agree you have to get up and rewrite your paper if you got rejected. I was devastated to get my first rejection. And then my second. And a third. But after multiple rewriting, my paper was good enough to get published. FINALLY! At the end of the day, you learn a lot from failure.

I have a couple of points to share
    1. If you don't get rejected, you might not be challenging yourself enough and might always be taking the easy way forward.
    2. I never read the comments by the reviewers on the day of the result. I am either too happy or too sad, and it clouds my comprehension and judgement. I have gone from hating a reviewer (day 1) to really appreciating him for helping me improve my work (day 3).

    Thanks, for sharing, I don't have a Doctor level...but, I have a Master's in Literature
My passion...and the Thesis work, and reviews, on a different level, and stress, I endured over four years...plus working full-time, brought agony and learning, thus Colleg, and the insight. My story...
    Congratulations on your work. Peace

You take it too personally. Your supervisors failed you. They should have fixed most of what did cause the rejection to happen. Also, they picked up wrong journals. Suggesting people who do not share your points of view to review your paper was bold but not smart. They won't change the way they see the issue, not until you publish your work, and which cannot be bypassed in time. There is nothing noble in science. Believing there is, is the mistake.

The problem is that if peer review means anything then it should always be impartial

The worst part of science is competitive scientist... That's why I decided I didn't want to be one only a couple of months before I finish my degree in molecular biology (yay!). I don't regret it at all. But the scientist that died in me wants you to succeed! Wishing you all the best!! 😊✨🌎⭐

How’s things going in the PhD now?

Well, being in the middle of it is weird: realising I should have results by now but also realising everything is still up in the air. One good thing is things that once took me two months I can now do in two days! I'm getting there. Just chip-chipping away...

You speak so swiftly that I have to lower the speed of the video. Make it slow a bit.
