Ive been known, real known as most know I CAN, WILL, LOVE TO, ENJOY, & DO COOK. A mid July full blown Thanksgiving meal isnt unheard of around here. Living in the South West keeps you at a steady pace without a whole lot of pandimonium. ITS JUST GRAND EATING.

This is amazing! We have a unique circumstance this Thanksgiving. We are in our late 70’s and have a very special lady who cleans our house once a month. We are going to our daughter’s house for the holiday so our friend who cleans asked if she could work on Thanksgiving at our house. I can’t bear the thought of her working all day and going home to a cold house to a non-traditional meal. Surely, I thought, there MUST be a way to make a T-Day meal in a crockpot for her to take home. I looked and BINGO, there you were with the perfect solution. Thank you! I’m going to make it exactly per your instructions and I’m sure she’ll love it.

Remember when girls would have Hope Chest? I got a cedar for my 16th birthday, and mom would always make sure one gift at Christmas and birthdays was a gift for the cedar chest. One of those gifts was a set of thumb print beverage glasses. I am in my 70's now, and still have that set, but I have to tell you until I watched your video I didn't know that pattern had a name. I wish I had known about this recipe. When my parents were older and too tired to cook and it just wasn’t worth going through the time and expense to make a big meal, we would order out from like Black Eye Pea, but it just wasn’t the same and the food was always cold, of course, by the time we got it home. But this crockpot meal would have been perfect. I’ve seen elderly people in the grocery store buy turkey tv dinners. If someone could make them this, it would be so nice and depending on size of crockpot and ingredients they may have leftovers. People please consider your elderly neighbors. They may not have family and/or are too tired to cook. Invite them for dinner or take them this crockpot dish. There was a story on the internet one time that this lady who was elderly and alone advertised that she would cook a Christmas meal for a family. One person called her and invited her over. She loved to cook and didn’t have anyone and just wanted to cook and be apart of a family. I think they let her help cook and then they made her apart of their family and invited her every Christmas after that.

Thanks for the great recipe. I have company coming for Thanksgiving this year. I did a “practice cook” yesterday and it came out great! The only difference was in the turkey I used. My local store had 2 lb. pre-cooked breasts at a great price. I sliced it into 3/4” slices as you suggested, and layered them. Using this type of turkey, my dinner was done in 3 hours.

Tammy I appreciate this crock pot recipe so much. You have a complete meal in one crock pot. I will definitely be doing this since I can't stand on my feet very long due to severe arthritis pain. Thank you so much. Love you and I'm so glad you are doing so much better.❤

I inherited my mom's crock pot. This is a completely new thing for me so thank you for showcasing these "old time" recipes. First and foremost, I have never seen a 'family size' format of C's soup. So that's interesting. Where I live, you get just one size can. Just like buttermilk. You can't buy a pint or 1/2 quart. You are forced to purchase 1 litre (appx. four cups) at a time. That's the only format. But I digress. Tammy, I know you've been really sick. But I must say you look lovely and you are sounding much better. God bless you and Chris and family. Happy fall y'all!
