My life changed too when I started doing this and putting money in stocks. The first few years it as really great, but this year I haven't felt like my portfolio is doing well. I have lost more than $40,000 from my portfolio the past four months, and it's now very worrisome.
The year has been really rough for everybody. But I've been able to cushion the effect though. Have you thought of using an investment advisor? They can make you good money especially during uncertain times like this.
Yes, I agree. I use a financial advisor too. Same person since 2020. I don't worry about whether the economy is going up or down or sideways. I always ride through.
My CFA NICOLE ANASTASIA PLUMLEE a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further... She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market..
Every crash/collapse/recession provides an equal market opportunity if you are properly prepared and knowledgeable. I've seen people amass up to $800,000 during crises and even with ease in a bad economy. Someone has undoubtedly become extremely wealthy as a result of the crash.
I agree that there are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy or market condition, but such executions are usually carried out by investment experts or advisors with experience.
I really enjoy creating these spreadsheets from your videos. I really like the complicated ones since they make me feel like I'm still a coder. Thanks for this simple one. Cheers!
I just realized that you flipped the Cost Basis and Purchase Price, columns F and G from your original and the clean sheet. Threw me off a bit till I saw that. :) I know you mentioned it at 8:30 but since I went back to compare it to the original in the beginning, derp. All the math still checks out since it was mostly done new. Another great sheet. TY I'd love to see one that showed ETF DRIP or one using Dollar Cost Averaging and create a calander for as many months or years as we wanted to chart.
I like the spreadsheet. I think the total return % column is incorrect. It should be (value/costs basis)-1. I could be wrong but you I believe you calculated percent change.
Great video... there's any function in Google finance where you can extract or follow up revenues, free cash flow, stock base compensation, outstanding shares?
can you show me , how can you do the dividend prognosis chart ? how can I calculate the yield 10 or 20 years in advance ? yes I know it is only speculation and not accurate but it helps to see which stocks can be the better choice if I can see the graf how change by different stock.
Very insightful, but maybe you could shed some light on this, I'm unable to pull stock information for the Jamaica Stock Exchange, as apparently it's not supported on Google Finance. How or where can I get this information to work in this spreadsheet... thanks
Hi, I didn't understand which commands you use to paste the data from sheet 2 to sheet 1. I can't simultaneously have the data I transfer on sheet 2 to sheet 1. Kind regards
How to introduce rebalancing in it. Like I want a portfolio tracker in which I pass on a dictionary of stock tickers with entry dates and exit dates, there prices are automatically fetched, also the portfolio rebalances itself when ever we add a new stock or sell a old one and buy new one etc
This is so cool and gives me ideas. How accurate is the returns? Say if you only had APPL for 2 months and MSFT for 2 years. Would a simple return be skewed? I’m trying to pull from a list of transaction history and fill in a spreadsheet like this one. Do you have a spreadsheet anything like that? I understand this was just meant as a simple overview of your investments but easy and quick. Thank you.
Its not that straight forward. Dropdown option nowhere to be found even through data validation. Google finance link doesn´t show up. Great table still, you have there.
First of all thanks a million for sharing such a wonderful knowledge. 👍For a long time i have searched for it. May I ask some more questions please ? In the future if I buy or sell stock how should I fill in details ? such as AAPL Date Buy/Sell Price Share 2/1/2024 Buy 180 5 3/2/2024 Sell 170 2 4/3/2024 Buy 185 3 How should I fill in correctly Price, Purchase Price,Cost of basis ? Thank you so much in advance for your answer.😀
Nice tool, but you have to be careful when you use a German version of Sheets. Then the formular structure needs to be changend to the German language as followed eg. [=WENN(ISTLEER(A4); ""; GOOGLEFINANCE(A4))].

Oh, really? I have never thought of that as an option. Can I ask who it is you've been working with? I bet I could use some help myself.

Thank you for the lead. I searched her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
