Update: Crypto price fetching from CoinMarketCap is experiencing some issues. In the meantime, this tracker will only be able to update prices automatically for those cryptocurrencies available in Google Finance: www.google.com/finance/markets/cryptocurrencies?hl=en Looking into alternative solutions to track crypto prices other than the CMC API as it's not a free viable solution yet. Thanks for your patience! Edit: solution has been created using cryptorates.ai. Cheers!
thank you, DOGE is listed on mentioned website. However although DOGE is in my transactions (DOGEUSD) it does not show in the "Total Portfolio" sheet. can you confirm, I entered correctly in my transactions (DOGEUSD) - thank you
Thank you for this template. Some of the pricing don't work. I've followed directions but still. BSV(BitcoinSV), XDC, quant, Matic, Proton XPR, Silver Gold , ETC.... How can I make these fill in accurate pricing?
Hey Planet Finance, you're doing an amazing work. One small suggestion though, is that in every video of yours, you can add functionality to include fixed deposits too. Multiple fixed deposits by one account and multiple accounts within same bank and multiple banks. That would be ultra powerful as a tool.. coz as generally the age of people increases or in case of market falling like during covid, people prefer stable income assets like deposits ... after a certain age as people gotta maintain a family and responsibilities, they prefer highly stable low-return assets.. Not just FD but some other tools like gold funds too.. maybe in the US, bank deposits dont give much return but in many other countries they do give like 7% too.. not big enough as stocks but certainly advantageous due to fixed guarantee, low risk and big enough to beat inflation %.
Just joined the Patreon and love the tracker! I’m entering all my historical transactions (back to 2020). Once I follow the steps to update the “Portfolio Performance” dates, I now lose visibility to my historical portfolio performance on the “Dashboard” tab. How do I fix so I have that visibility again?
The portfolio performance only starts working when you first activate it. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the transaction dates, but just takes a snapshot of your current total value and continues from activation to present
okay, this looks amazing i love it. but, once i join your patreon do i have to stay inside of your patreon in order to keep using this tracker, or if for whatever reason i decide to get out of your pateron will i still keep the tracker "free" to use?
Thanks so much for your comment! You can join the Patreon, pay for access, download whichever tracker you want into your account and then cancel the subscription. This flexibility is allowed and that's why I charge upfront. The only benefits you're losing out on are early access to trackers, instant support and access to the continued release of trackers. Your tracker will continue to work when you exit the subscription :) let me know if you need any further assistance! Cheers
@@PlanetFinanceOfficial Amazing my friend. Absolutely and surely will join your patreon to give you support while using the tracker tool, fair trade. Take care my friend.
Hey man, thanks again for great work, it looks waay better than 2G. Since I am using 2G version more than a year now, do you think is it easy to migrate 3G ? Also one question, in 2G version when you add a Crypto interest for example, average purchase price wasn't dropped. I was understanding reasoning behind it since it wasn't a purchase but I thought it would be good see lower your cost. Just to give you a feedback. I definitely will use this one ASAP :) Hope to get your answer, take care !
Hey! Thanks so much for your comment, very glad you've been loving the 2G. It should be easy to migrate, just copy and paste column by column in the corresponding ones. There are extra columns now so you might need to fill those up afterwards and it should be simple with the use of filters. Crypto interest hasn't been set up to drop the purchase price because generally when you receive it it doesn't carry a purchase price, it's usually a reward that is not accurate to consider the same as a dividend reinvestment plan. Hope this helps! Cheers, PF
My main portfolio is based in Brazil and I’ve started investing abroad specifically in USA, my main concern is if I would be able to still tracking my portfolio once there is hedge-Founds and many types of Brazilian bonds in that… would it be possible?? Besides that amazing job you’ve done
Hello! Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, there are still several stocks/etfs that are not tracked by google finance. Yahoo finance keeps getting errors as their website constantly changes. I'm in the process of researching a sustainable solution to help with this.
It looks amazing🎉 one question just to be sure, could you please specify what pricing method is used in the tracker? fifo (first in first out) or some another one?
This tracker looks amazing! I have one question though, does it matter in what transactions are inputted (i.e. I have a transaction done in 16 March 2022, If I put this transaction first and then have another one from 16 Feb 2021 that I input after the first will it screw the sheet up? or does it recognise this and adjust everything accordingly?) I quite am keen to purchase this, but that is my only concern as of now...
Ideally, you'll organise transactions by date order. You can easily do this by sorting them in a separate sheet and then pasting them in the transactions tab. Technically, it won't affect much of the performance results, the main thing that will be affected are the account balances.
Can your dividend tracker manage Australian stocks dividends? I know you can pull US dividends from some websites, but will it work with ASX Dividends also? Another thing... Can this track high interest bank deposits, or term deposits?
Yes, it can manage all type of dividends as it currently doesn't pull any yields or dividends per share. All dividends are entered manually (drp or cash dividend) and they can be tracked. This tracker doesn't track interest deposits or term deposits but I'll make sure to add this as a feature in a future version. Cheers!
Thank you for this very helpful tracker! Silly question: why does your script request so many permissions ("see, edit, create and delete all your spreadsheets") for a purpose that seems quite clear? Why not go through Google's verification process? Just trying to better understand the context, thanks!
Hey! The reason for this is that this script is not officially approved by Google, it's a simple script to automate certain functionalities that I created. Google generally adds all those permission red flags in case there's a script that can potentially harm your account. All the scripts I've created are accessible to be verified in the script editor before approving permissions. hope this makes sense! Cheers
Hello i have bought the sheet and i want to import my current portfolio holdings without entering every transaction in the past and continue with entering every transaction from this point on. how would i enter my intial holdings at the current price the best way.
Hello! You can enter all your shares at the average price that your broker shows, and then start with the rest moving forward. Let me know if have any further questions!
Hello, thanks for your comment! You can definitely use this tracker only for crypto. However, crypto to crypto exchanging is not tracker. Ideally, what you'll need to do is buy a crypto, sell, and then buy the other one (in the transaction logic).
I’m specifically looking for a Google sheet that shows my investments in a chart by sector. What i am finding tricky is finding one that supports ETFs, so one ETF has percentages in a number of sectors. Does this support ETFs? TIA
It's quite difficult to categorise all the assets an ETF holds by sector, so in this tracker, when you buy ETF's, you only have one option to enter as its sector category. There's an option for ETF's but you could also add a particular sector if it's a specific themed etf
Great Document, Looks incredible, I have only one question, when I add my transactions, 2 of my ETF appear with ROI -98%, and because is my bigger part of the portfolio all the other values look strange, any idea what could be ? VUAG and VUKG are the one I'm considering. thanks
@Planet Finance I am interested in your spreadsheet. I would like a bit of customization of your spreadsheet to use it for myself. I am wondering if you would be interested in collaborating? Thank you very much. (We can discuss more privately) :)
Great work! I'm still studying your template before deciding to purchase and migrate to it. I am wondering if it supports Stock Options? You can see on google finance that each option has a unique identifier based on ticker expiration and strike price
Unfortunately this tracker does not support stock options. Now that google finance has this option, I will add it in the next version released. Cheers!
I was wondering if you have a portfolio tracker using the ajusted cost based method. As I'm in Canada, this porfolio tracker will be perfect, but with ACB method !
Hello! At the moment this is the only cost based method in the trackers. I will investigate all other methods and potentially create a dropdown feature so users can choose which one they want. Cheers!
Does this work with Stablecoins such as USDT? Do you have any video examples showing how they are entered? Also, I was playing with G1 and the Brokerage Fees were not being picked up in the Cash Balance. I am assuming this has been fixed now?
Stablecoins can be entered in the tracker. However, you need to enter the currency entry as the currency it represents. E.g. bought USDT with USD at a price of 1. For buying/selling assets using USD, you will need to input it using USD. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any further assistance.
Hi Man, Great work, in regards with the Action items in the Transactions sheet, can we change them/ what will be the implications of it on the Dashboard/other metrics? I've done some internal transfers of cash from one account to another, what tag shall I select in that case? Also, is there a option to select when we do a currency conversion? And what does other Tags mean, like DRIP, FreeAsset, Cash fees? I couldn't find anything in the instructions sheet Thanks in advance for you help :)
You can technically change them, but certain formulas will need to be adjusted because of these changes. you could use the FIND REPLACE feature in sheets to change everything available by the click of 1 button. Let me know if you need any assistance with this. For internal cash transfers, I'd recommend to simply use the cash deposit and withdrawal actions to account for this. At the moment, currency conversions are done by date of transaction. DRIP means dividend reinvestment, free asset means you received a stock for free, cash fees means your cash balance was reduced to to fees applied.
