So cool you made Madonna´s, im a big fan, this is my my top: 1. Erotica. 2. True Blue. 3. Madonna. 4. Music. 5. Ray Of Light. 6. Like A Prayer. 7. American Life. 8. Like A Virgin. 9. Confessions Of A Dancefloor. 10. Madame X. 11. Bedtime Stories 12. Hard Candy 13. Rebel Heart 14. MDNA.
It was very interesting to watch this video. Madonna is my all-time favorite artist and I love to hear different opinions about her records. True Blue will always be my #1 album. I adore everything about it. I usually make top 16 Madonna albums (including I'm Breathless and Evita). I'd love to know where would you put I'm Breathless in your top, guys? It's my 5th favorite Madge album
I think Breathless would be right after Erotica. I did not listen to Evita for this discography, though I believe I’ve heard most of it before. And I’ve seen the movie. - Joe
I didn´t hear the last albums, so I´m going to share My personal Top5: 1. Ray Of Light 2. True Blue 4. Like a Prayer 5. Like a Virgin 6. Confessions on a Dance Floor Greetings from Canary Islands.
To me, all Madonna albums have many standout moments, except for Madame X, with no listenable tracks, a career-ending disaster. People's opinions on her music are incredibly varied. It wouldn't surprise me if MDNA is ranked as someone's favorite album, while listing Music as least favorite and calling Ray of Light "dated" is quite unexpected, lol! It's still the best Madonna ranking video, even though I don't agree with some of the comments and rankings. I do agree that her 80s work remains the most timeless, despite also being very reflective of its time. My list: 1. Like A Prayer 2. Madonna 3. Ray Of Light 4. Music 5. Confessions Of A Dancefloor. 6. True Blue 7. Erotica 8. Rebel Heart 9. Like A Virgin 10. American Life 11. Bedtime Stories 12. MDNA 13. Hard Candy 14. Madame X
You guys did the Queen justice! Here’s my take: 14. Rebel Heart 13. Hard Candy 12. Madame X 11. Confessions on a Dance Floor (as dance albums go, I’m one of the few that prefers MDNA) 10. American Life (her most divisive effort w/ poor production) 9. Music 8. MDNA 7. Erotica 6. Like a Prayer 5. Ray of Light 4. Bedtime Stories 3. Like a Virgin 2. True Blue (plays like a Greatest Hits) 1. Madonna (the classic gold standard bearer)
I only have her first five albums (plus You can Dance) so can only rate those: 1. Like a Virgin - simply one of the great pop albums of the 80's 2. Like a Prayer - going full female empowerment, groundbreaking step for her 3. Erotica - more of the times, and has some of my favourite songs like Deeper and Deeper 4. True Blue - she stalled a bit on this record but has some great tunes 5. Madonna (still an exciting album, was listening to it recently while doing the ironing and she hinted at the ambition she would fully develop on her follow up)
Another great video. Pretty much agree with most of the rankings/comments on here, though American Life would definitely be in my top 3. I've always considered Hollywood as her Jolene, so for that reason alone its up there as one of my favourites. You're right about her music being quite idiosyncratic to what was going on in the charts at the time though (even though it adopted and adapted what was going on sonically/culturally). Take songs like Like A Virgin, Like A Prayer, Erotica and then look at the rest of the charts from that period there was absolutley nothing to compare, she really was unique. For me her most interesting album was Erotica. The world was still very much in the grip of the AIDS epidemic at the time and so that icey cold, clinical detachment whilst exploring sexual issues kind of made sense. She got a lot of flack for that album, so that also gives it a special place in my heart.

She's a phenomenal artist some great albums. I actually love bedtime stories and really enjoyed her most recent madame x, really textured and experimental.
On bedtime stories there are excellent songs: Love tríes to welcome me (this Is a masterpiece) , secret, human nature, bedtime story, inside of me.....
The remix of Like A prayer on The Immaculate Collection is just a little more sparkly... it opens with "God", rather than Prince's guitar rift. It also has the "Q Sound" technology, which was supposed to make it all sound three-dimensional (or something). Fun listening to you guys. I also though Madam X was quite adventuresome.
She was FIRE in the 80s, was ok in the 90s, was meh in the 00s and now it's pretty bad. I know that you could say that I'm a boomer, but the punk chick Madonna from the 80s (profile picture says it all, even if it is from 1979) will be forever the best one for me, street girl at it's finest and her music was good.
American Life has been revisited and is loved by many now IMO Madonna wasn’t trying to follow trends and sound like everyone else. She took the relevant sounds and turned them into her own on MDNA and rebel heart. She wasn’t trying to sound like lady Gaga, gaga wasn’t even making music as diverse as Madonna was in the early to mid 2010s Hard candy is criminally underrated Bedtime stories wasn’t her apologising for her sex book, the song “human nature” is literally her stating that she isn’t sorry for any of it, she genuinely felt like making an album that was softer and I’m glad she did it because it’s a great piece of work And it’s funny how your top choices were her first three albums, great pop masterpieces especially true blue but her stuff from like a prayer onwards is when she released really artistic albums. Also, to me she is a singer songwriter from her very first album as she is a co writer and co producer on every record
just a comment- Madonna hired William Orbit for Ray of Light based on his work with Caroline Lavelle on her album "Spirit" so if you liked Ray of Light check out Spirit. I personally thought Ray of Light was a top three of her work, along with Madonna and True Blue.
1. Ray of Light 2. Like A Prayer 3. Madonna 4. Erotica 5. Bedtime Stories 6. True Blue 7. Music 8. Like A Virgin 9. Madame X 10. Confessions on a Dance Floor
She was arguably even bigger in the 90's. Fewer hits on the charts, perhaps, but her influence as an icon was felt more strongly during that decade, I think. As for best album? Hmm...I don't think she's done anything worth being aware of since 2000's "Music". Her career seemed to just die after that. But I suppose one would have to go with "Like a Prayer" or "Ray of Light" to play it safe. Both are excellent albums, although "Prayer" is a lot more......fun, I guess. "Erotica" is underrated, though. That would be the cool (mental) choice.
@@blendisheremeti1676 personally her sampling ABBA annoys the hell out of me. I mean i'd much rather listen to the ABBA song than listen to madonna sing speak over the sample. it adds nothing.
My older sister and cousin was fans of Madonna as younger. I didn't follow them with it but when I listenend to a greatest hits from Madonna a while back I liked pretty much everything and recognized most of it. Growing up with MTV Madonna was always there even if it wasn't something I strived for. My favorite song is "Live To Tell" as I see other mentions as well. It was a soundtrack to a Sean Penn/Christopher Walken movie I highy recommend called "At Close Range" (1986). If you aren't a Madonna fan I still recommend you to search up the Patrick Leonards (only instrumental) soundtrack to the movie. 80's at it's best for me!
I just find your channel guys by looking for a ranking of the Doors albums, im very surprised to find out you had a Madonna video, very interesting, can't imagine you guys listen to Madonna, ha ha ha, by the way ray of light is her masterpiece, guess you guys not into techno, electronica and trip hop
"The Immaculate Collection" is the only Madonna album in my library. Maybe you guys could do a Side Three sometime dedicated to performers whose greatest hits albums are all you need.
Here's my ranking, with "I'm Breathless" included: 15. Like a Virgin 14. Rebel Heart 13. Madame X 12. Bedtime Stories 11. American Life 10. Madonna 9. Music 8. I'm Breathless 7. True Blue 6. MDNA 5. Erotica 4. Hard Candy 3. Like a Prayer 2. Ray of Light 1. Confessions on a Dance Floor
I'm coming to Madonna from a slightly different angle having picked up The Immaculate Collection, Something To Remember and GHV2 from thrift shops. And since then eight of her studio albums of which I've so far listened to seven. I agree with Kramzer putting Like A Virgin at Number One. Being a Chic fan this was always going to be the one that would bring me the most pleasure. Like A Prayer has good singles but I'm not sure about the other tracks. Erotica coming on the back of Justify My Love sort of moves in the areas I like. While Ray Of Light is a massive disappointment. Frozen made me imagine the album would be a Hounds Of Love come The Sensual World style masterpiece. If you guys ever get around to a Berlin Listography I would thoroughly recommend their Voyeur album from 2002. It sounds like it was inspired by this era. Music to me is a little flat as is American Life. Confessions On A Dance Floor was a return to form. Cherry picking what I know of the rest I'd put Madonna and True Blue in my Top Ten just on the strength of the singles alone. But for now; 1. Like A Virgin 2. Erotica 3. Confessions On A Dance Floor 4. Like A Prayer 5. Ray Of Light 6. Music 7. American Life
So wish I could've been there to be part of this debate cause I'd have a lot to say. Some major disagreements. My favorites in order. 1. Like A Prayer 2. True Blue 3. Like A Virgin 4. Ray Of Light 5. Erotica 6. Madonna 7. Music 8. Confessions Of A Dancefloor 9. Bedtime Stories 10. I'm Breathless 11. MDNA 12. American Life 13. Rebel Heart 14. Madame X 15. Hard Candy
14. American Life 13. Madame X 12. MDNA 11. Hard Candy 10. Rebel Heart 9. Music 8. Bedtime Stories 7. Confessions on a Dance Floor 6. Like a Virgin 5. Erotica 4. Like a Prayer 3. True Blue 2. Madonna 1. Ray of Light
She should have released a Rebel Heart Part 2. Best songs didn't make the final cut - Nothing Lasts Forever, Tragic Girl, Never Let You Go, Revolution, Alone with You, Queen, Heaven, Trust No Bitch
I absolutley love this video and my favorite Madonna album is Like a Virgin as well. Love to know the fact, that there is someone in the world with the same opinion. Thank you very much.
If I were ranking her 14 albums Madonna would be my number 1. But because I choose to only rank the albums I like best and leave out the ones I am not wild about my #1 favorite is The Immaculate Collection. It has many of her most popular songs plus Justify My Love and Get Into The Groove. Madonna is my 2nd favorite. True Blue, Like A Virgin and Like A Prayer are also high on my list. I’m still listening to the others to see how to rate them. I’m not into the Hard Candy album and I like only one song from Rebel Heart and that’s Devil Pray.
1. Rebel Heart 2. Music 3. Like a Prayer 4. Madame X 5. Erotica 6. American Life 7. MDNA 8. Confessions On a Dance Floor 9. Ray of Light 10. True Blue 11. Hard Candy 12. Madonna 13. Bedtime Stories 14. Like a Virgin
@@TastesLikeMusic I’ve heard all of these albums multiple times over the years and this is where they’ve settled with me. I’ve always been a bigger fan of her later material, particularly her work with Mirwais. That sound isn’t for everybody though. I understand where both of you were coming from with your lists.
@@fabianvaldivia1874 One of the things that I enjoyed about this video was that I’ve never seen her early work ranked so high on a list like this. It was a different perspective that was interesting to hear. Those early albums are often downplayed by critics and fans.

I really enjoyed this. (I also like leaving in context/memories, so it'll help younger folks know lol!) (I'm a huge). You guys hit the nail on the head with her criticism. She hasn't been as ground breaking to me since 2000 and confessions. Although, I did like the single to Madam X, a lot of co-workers and me thought that the rest of the album fell really flat. I agree with you guys on how her albums are so bland now. What happened? I still tune into her older stuff. My top three would be: True Blue, Confessions on A dance floor, and Ray of Light. I think those 3 cd's were light years ahead of every other female artist that are her contemporaries. Bedtime stories was quite a pleasant surprise (I decided to buy it at around 2010), you never really heard about that CD. But I do remember that the videos from that CD were really overplayed. Her 90's sex stuff was really over critized as a kid, I remember folks screaming at my elementary school when they announced that she was coming with the cd like that in 92. They flashed back clips of her and Marylin Manson on the tv screen. It's Interesting too how other review rankings of her and MJ fell to bring up how crazy there were looked at in the mid 90s. I think it has to do with age. Good memories guys! This really takes me back. Love both her and MJ!
1) Ray of Light 2) True Blue 3) Confessions on a dance floor 4) Bedtime stories 5) Madam X 6) Erotica 7) who’s that girl 1987 8) Madonna 1983 9) Something to Remember 1995 10) Like a virgin-1984
When I pulled up the Listography playlist, Def Leppard was the most recent and I couldn't find the Madonna. Might want to double-check that you've got it linked. Hopefully it's on my end, but just in case....
Great reviews overall. Although I think you both overlooked and said you didn’t like a lot of, or whole entire Madonna albums which I think is not accurate unless you didn’t really listen to it more then once. Sure some albums are not great but usually there’s atlwsst two or three songs that are good . Enjoyed your discourse and commentary none the less 😀
I have every album of hers including her compilations. I love the latest one plus rebel heart cus alot the songs she writes is what I think about during that time period. The song crave om madam x definitely is one I played alot since I was dealing with feelings for another when I was already married at the time. Alot of her songs on her albums especially during the late 90s and 2000s era are so what I was going through. Forbidden love both on bedtime stories and confessions was my life a few years ago. Like a prayer had to be her most mature album of the 80s. Second was true blue. First 2 are very bubble gum and so 80s. Erotica is so sexual and very in your face about it. Other than a few songs on it. It's in my top 5 favs. Her tours are crazy and no one had the theatrics of a pop singer at the time when her blond ambition tour came out. Now these days everybody put on like a stage performance of there songs. That are pop stars. And she started that. She was the first pop star to have a dancer top less go dance down a pole. In her girlie show tour.
An epic undertaking here, fellas. Jason missed out on a chance to up his street cred. I remember when her debut was released, and you are right, Joe, nothing else really sounded like her at the time. Borderline was the single that really stood out to me. So difficult to separate her early music from her videos, because at that time her videos were as big an artistic statement as her music, probably bigger. Her videos were definitely what shocked people more than the music.
My ranking of Madonna's albums: 14. American Life 13. Madame X 12 Rebel Heart 11. MDNA 10. Hard Candy 9. Music 8. Like A Virgin 7. Bedtime Stories 6. Madonna 5. Confessions on a Dance Floor 4. Erotica 3. Ray of Light 2. True Blue 1. Like A Prayer
Only heard Immaculate Collection, Like a Prayer, Ray of Light, Music. Really like Ray of Light. Easily the Madonna I turn to the most. Maybe it doesn't sound like production today, but I think I just really like 90s rave electronic production. Don't hate Music. Never been a fan of "Material Girl" or "Like a Virgin".

I can’t believe you did a Madonna review 😂 not surprised Jason is not here . Without yet watching your video: 1) Music 2) ROL 3) Confessions maybe tied with Like A Prayer 4) Madonna (debut) what a debut!!! Like a virgin sorry, it has two good songs only. Her worst is MDNA Let’s see where you go with her…
I have a soft spot for Madonna and would say ray of light is her best Beautiful stranger is a great track I actually like the album music Close 2nd is true blue along with like a prayer
Madonna is certainly one of the "canon" artists I like the least. I actually prefer those three '90s albums - yes, including Bedtime Stories - to her '80s output. I hate her nasality on True Blue and Like a Prayer.
Great show. It's cool to see the entire spectrum of the music you like. The three of you have different enough tastes that every list is an interesting watch. I'll just add that The Immaculate Collection is one of the most essential greatest hits records ever, all songs mixed by Shep Pettibone, and better than the album versions.
Shortly followed by Like A Prayer. I find the early 80's stuff too flyweight. Plus im.A big R&B / Dan e head and I m from Wales so I have No idea what shopping malls are !
Even if don't like Madonna (or Lady Gaga for that matter), it's fun that you don't only do the classic rock acts or cool indie bands, and I did discover a couple of good songs you guys highlighted in your top 10 songs lists which I ended up liking a good bit. 14. Honestly American Life was GREAT 😌 Don’t know why that album 💿 got a lot of flack... so what if it’s political it is still a masterpiece & i love 💕 Confessions on a dance 💃 floor along w/ True Blue, Rebel Heart 💜 Hard Candy... BITCH don’t get me started now... i could literally have a whole freakin’ entire conversation with you guys about my girl love 💕 “ MADONNA “ #Madonna #QueenOfPop and i also like 👍 Bedtime Stories, somewhat Lol 😂
About american life, I think that everyone puts this álbum in lower places because of the electronic songs: hollywood, american life, nobody knows me and Love profusion. I think they forget about escellent ballads like easy ride, nothing fails (masterpiece!!), x-tatic process and intervention.

Admire her talent, agree she's influential. I'll also admit to not listening to her much in modern times. Joe mentioned The Immaculate Collection hits set, I'd say that's all the Madonna a lot of us need. Biggest surprise to me: 14 albums. I would not have guessed she'd done that many.
She's a very experimental artist. Most underrated in pop by a landslide. These days, singers like "gaga" get praised but don't fully deserve it. they don't reach the ankles of madonna when she's at her very best.
My top 5 :- 1. Like a Virgin(alongside Thriller - it's one of the great albums of the 1980s. A great pop album). 2. Like a Prayer(still very much a pop album, but Like a Prayer adds a spirituality to it). 3. True Blue(perhaps a bit lightweight in places and trying to do to much of a pastiche - but it's still fun in places). 4. Erotica(mainly for Vogue and Hanky Panky). 5. Madonna(decent debut album from her).
Like a virgin Is a good álbum, but in my opinion, Ángel pretender and stay are too repetitive..... Also shoo bee doo bee doo its strange. That Is why I don't it's her best álbum.
My fav critics; you actually reviewed Madame X? hope it doesn’t hurt your street cred😂 she was influential. Really enjoy you All particularly JOE, different reason 😂
Half the fun would have been imagining Jason listening to the albums and the other half watching Jason have to review them. :( The only song of hers I really remember liking is "Live to Tell". Once she came out with "Vogue" I didn't hear anything from her I appreciated even a little
Good video, I'm not a huge fan but I do like a lot of her singles, my favorite album is True Blue followed closely by Like a Prayer, I'm opposite of Ryan though, I traded in my cd of Immaculate Collection because it had that dance beat remix of Like a Prayer, I prefer the original.
Queen of Pop for sure, but life's too short to listen through all her albums... :) I don't think she's a bad artist in any way, but it's just not my cup of tea. For nostalgic reasons I can listen to a few of her 80s hits every now and then... But, "Live To Tell" is one of my favorite songs of all time. Check out Bill Frisell's cover version from '92. Killer stuff!
A treat to find out who you are discussing this week. I don't even have to like Madonna to enjoy this. Lots of mediocrity in the music after 1983. MTV can be blamed for a lot of it.
it's been a long long while since I've heard two Madge fans make a video that made me actually feel depressed.. So many bizarre but fun observations whilst neglecting so many nuances and highlights on her greatest works. Nothing Really Matters a dud? WTF😳
@@christianewen3227 After their Neil Young listography, I think they might take a break from the really huge discographies for a while. Zappa - or someone like Robert Pollard / Guided By Voices - could be a year-long project or something.
Bedtime Stories is so boring 😅 agreed with both, same for Rebel Heart, MDNA and Rebel Heart… Music her worst album, really Kramzer? I guess I grew up with her so in 2000 that was a clearly experimental album for a mainstream artist, so she sounded ahead of everyone… but I guess I’m like 20 years older that you guys 😂
I just had to google new jack. I wish I hadn’t lol. To put this in perspective I’d rather listen to you two chat about Madge rather than listen to the vast majority of them
I grew up in a house with 3 older sisters who listened to her incessantly. I think I've heard her '80s hits enough to last a couple of lifetimes. Love her, tho. Albums-wise, it's 'Like a Prayer' and then everything else.

That's why Madame X was such a welcome change of pace, even with some contemporary sounds.

13. Hard Candy
14. Madame X
You guys did the Queen justice! Here’s my take:
14. Rebel Heart
13. Hard Candy
12. Madame X
11. Confessions on a Dance Floor (as dance albums go, I’m one of the few that prefers MDNA)
10. American Life (her most divisive effort w/ poor production)
9. Music
8. MDNA
7. Erotica
6. Like a Prayer
5. Ray of Light
4. Bedtime Stories
3. Like a Virgin
2. True Blue (plays like a Greatest Hits)
1. Madonna (the classic gold standard bearer)
I only have her first five albums (plus You can Dance) so can only rate those:
1. Like a Virgin - simply one of the great pop albums of the 80's
2. Like a Prayer - going full female empowerment, groundbreaking step for her
3. Erotica - more of the times, and has some of my favourite songs like Deeper and Deeper
4. True Blue - she stalled a bit on this record but has some great tunes
5. Madonna (still an exciting album, was listening to it recently while doing the ironing and she hinted at the ambition she would fully develop on her follow up)
Ray Of Light is her Magnum Opus...
MADONNA IS THE BEST EVER . I LOVE THE WAY SHR KEEPS REINVENTING HERSELF. SHE IS THE GOAT. AND I'M A 70 YR OLD BLACK GUY. NOTHING ELSE TO SAY.
My top album :
1- Ray of light ☀️ 20/20
2- Confession on the dancef.🕺20/20
3- Erotica 👠 20/20
4- Bedtime stories 🌀 19/20

17- American life 🍔 10/20
18- Mdna 🍄 2/20
She's a phenomenal artist some great albums. I actually love bedtime stories and really enjoyed her most recent madame x, really textured and experimental.
On bedtime stories there are excellent songs: Love tríes to welcome me (this Is a masterpiece) , secret, human nature, bedtime story, inside of me.....
@@Lgh-oo8lx it’s a masterpiece.
@@slystone4892 I agree!!! 🤪
@@Lgh-oo8lx The whole album is great although low key sound wise
bedtime stories is personally my jumping off point. secret is great
The remix of Like A prayer on The Immaculate Collection is just a little more sparkly... it opens with "God", rather than Prince's guitar rift. It also has the "Q Sound" technology, which was supposed to make it all sound three-dimensional (or something). Fun listening to you guys. I also though Madam X was quite adventuresome.
The Immaculate Collection mixes are pretty much the superior ones
Ray Of Light is criminally low on both of your lists tbh
Maybe. - Joe
Critiqued from the very start, no matter what, Madonna will forever be THE Queen of pop 🎶
American Life has been revisited and is loved by many now
IMO Madonna wasn’t trying to follow trends and sound like everyone else. She took the relevant sounds and turned them into her own on MDNA and rebel heart. She wasn’t trying to sound like lady Gaga, gaga wasn’t even making music as diverse as Madonna was in the early to mid 2010s
Hard candy is criminally underrated
Bedtime stories wasn’t her apologising for her sex book, the song “human nature” is literally her stating that she isn’t sorry for any of it, she genuinely felt like making an album that was softer and I’m glad she did it because it’s a great piece of work
And it’s funny how your top choices were her first three albums, great pop masterpieces especially true blue but her stuff from like a prayer onwards is when she released really artistic albums.
1. Ray of Light
2. Like A Prayer
3. Madonna
4. Erotica
5. Bedtime Stories
6. True Blue
7. Music
8. Like A Virgin
9. Madame X
10. Confessions on a Dance Floor
Wow... My list is so different.. I love Rebel Heart. Top 3: Rebel Heart, Ray Of Light, Confessions... Thanks for sharing guys!
Confessions on a dance floor from 2005 is one of her best albums, you should check it out.
@@blendisheremeti1676 I did. Not for me.
Hats off to Kramzer and Joe for doing this. I wouldn't be up for the challenge. That said, I do like a lot of her radio hits from the 80s/90s.
"The Immaculate Collection" is the only Madonna album in my library. Maybe you guys could do a Side Three sometime dedicated to performers whose greatest hits albums are all you need.
yes, and that's not just a greatest hits - it has unique and in all cases superior mixes.
Love this stuff guys! Keep it

Have to admit I was excited to see a Madonna Listography.
Thank you!
Here's my ranking, with "I'm Breathless" included:
15. Like a Virgin
14. Rebel Heart
13. Madame X
12. Bedtime Stories

1. Confessions on a Dance Floor
I'm coming to Madonna from a slightly different angle having picked up The Immaculate Collection, Something To Remember and GHV2 from thrift shops. And since then eight of her studio albums of which I've so far listened to seven. I agree with Kramzer putting Like A Virgin at Number One. Being a Chic fan this was always going to be the one that would bring me the most pleasure. Like A Prayer has good singles but I'm not sure about the other tracks. Erotica coming on the back of Justify My Love sort of moves in the areas I like. While Ray Of Light is a massive disappointment. Frozen made me imagine the album would be a Hounds Of Love come The Sensual World style masterpiece. If you guys ever get around to a Berlin Listography I would thoroughly recommend their Voyeur album from 2002. It sounds like it was inspired by this era. Music to me is a little flat as is American Life. Confessions On A Dance Floor was a return to form. Cherry picking what I know of the rest I'd put Madonna and True Blue in my Top Ten just on the strength of the singles alone. But for now;
1. Like A Virgin
2. Erotica
3. Confessions On A Dance Floor
4. Like A Prayer
5. Ray Of Light
6. Music
7. American Life
So wish I could've been there to be part of this debate cause I'd have a lot to say. Some major disagreements. My favorites in order.

Really? I don’t think is a great album, quite underwhelming. It should have been much better with Into The Groove and Crazy.

1 ray of ight or like a prayer , 2 like a prayer or ray of light , 3 erotica , 4 american life , 5 true blue and I'm Breathless.
Really enjoyed this. Thanks

I have a soft spot for Madonna and would say ray of light is her best

I actually like the album music
Close 2nd is true blue along with like a prayer
Madonna is certainly one of the "canon" artists I like the least. I actually prefer those three '90s albums - yes, including Bedtime Stories - to her '80s output. I hate her nasality on True Blue and Like a Prayer.
Great show. It's cool to see the entire spectrum of the music you like. The three of you have different enough tastes that every list is an interesting watch.
I'll just add that The Immaculate Collection is one of the most essential greatest hits records ever, all songs mixed by Shep Pettibone, and better than the album versions.
I hated the version of like a prayer that he put in the inmaculate collection. But expresas your self Is a masterpiece when sheo remixed it.
To me the madonna albums I like are like a virgin and true blue and like a prayer and ray of light and confessions on the dance floor who agrees?🤩🤩🤩

1 Like a Prayer and well its amazing
Admire her talent, agree she's influential. I'll also admit to not listening to her much in modern times. Joe mentioned The Immaculate Collection hits set, I'd say that's all the Madonna a lot of us need. Biggest surprise to me: 14 albums. I would not have guessed she'd done that many.
She's a very experimental artist. Most underrated in pop by a landslide. These days, singers like "gaga" get praised but don't fully deserve it. they don't reach the ankles of madonna when she's at her very best.
My top 5 :-
Vouge and hanky panky are not part of erotica álbum, they are part of "im breatless"
Like a virgin Is a good álbum, but in my opinion, Ángel pretender and stay are too repetitive..... Also shoo bee doo bee doo its strange. That Is why I don't it's her best álbum.

How did Kramzer manage to make a video with that old tape style? It’s a genuine old camera or a filter?
Ray of light is the best Madonna album by miles.
Hmm allmusic.com says Ray of Light has "blunted trip hop beats." That might explain why Joe isn't crazy about it.
Conversely, it sounds like something I should check out.
Haha. Bingo. - Joe
Queen of Pop for sure, but life's too short to listen through all her albums... :)
I don't think she's a bad artist in any way, but it's just not my cup of tea.
WTF😳
Bedtime Stories isn’t new jack at all lmao. It’s pure r&b and sounds amazing. Erotica could be considered new jack

@@SamSajadi thank you! Would be great to see it happen!
Spacemen 3 would be a great - albeit short - list.
@@chrisdelisle3954 it’s good to mix up the discography lengths. I was going to suggest Zappa 😉
@@christianewen3227 After their Neil Young listography, I think they might take a break from the really huge discographies for a while. Zappa - or someone like Robert Pollard / Guided By Voices - could be a year-long project or something.
Bedtime Stories is probably my number 1. It’s a small group of us and we are fierce, but most importantly we are better than you.
You are locked in a mental institution. - Joe
I sign Joe's list. Slightly different than mine (very very slightly). I agree 90% . Brilliant choices.
Madonna queen 👑 legend of pop
Bedtime Stories is so boring 😅 agreed with both, same for Rebel Heart, MDNA and Rebel Heart… Music her worst album, really Kramzer? I guess I grew up with her so in 2000 that was a clearly experimental album for a mainstream artist, so she sounded ahead of everyone… but I guess I’m like 20 years older that you guys 😂
Her older music works because her voice harmonizes with the music. I’m Breathless was a good album for her voice. Nice work.
I just had to google new jack. I wish I hadn’t lol.
To put this in perspective I’d rather listen to you two chat about Madge rather than listen to the vast majority of them
also how it it possible you guys haven't done a "Heart" ranking???
I grew up in a house with 3 older sisters who listened to her incessantly. I think I've heard her '80s hits enough to last a couple of lifetimes. Love her, tho. Albums-wise, it's 'Like a Prayer' and then everything else.
I heard Elvis Costello, Todd Rundgren, and slide guitars at the beginning of this video and got really excited.
It’s what the people actually want. -Jason
Her cover of American pie is painful. Her debut is great and like a prayer are quite good
@@keithmarus8554 prince is better
Jason is my hero for skipping madonna week😌
I thought all Europeans loved Madonna
@@TastesLikeMusic thats a myth.😆
I love this channel but I swear to God it’s like they have never listened to techno or any English electronic from the 90s
Very limited amounts.
Still love you guys
Also can you guys please do The Fall???🤪🤪🤪🫡🫡
Quite surprised you didn't include 'I'm Breathless'...
Dita; Dancefloor; BS; Prayer; ROL; AL; TB; Madge; Breathless; Virgin; Music; the last 4.
If undecided, STR when feeling mellow, TIC when feeling gay.
Why's it so hard?
Keep It Together and Til Death Do Us Apart are those of her most underrated great songs.
Would you guys ever consider(meaning Joe & Kramzer) ranking Demi Lovato, Taylor Swift or Avril Lavigne's discographies?
I would do it no problem. Not sure about these other pop haterz though. - Joe
Who here rolled to Ray of Light back in 2000? Either intentionally or circumstantially...
I was too young at the time. Probably just trying wine coolers for the first time after roller hockey - kramzer
Love you guys but American life is my favorite followed by music and third ray of light
I always felt the best Madonna album was the first Martika album ... total fun! 🥳
