Jack, great coverage of the Dodgers. Dylan, great coverage of the Sasaki saga, esp. your insights into Japanese baseball. I hope the pressure we're all putting on Roki is a motivation and not a major distraction. Hmm, Will Ireton's going to be busy this season!
This is a golden era for Dodger baseball! We will look back at this time and know it was just a unique time. Future young japanese players will take the more traditional path and front offices have already caught on (eg: Moneyball era). Dodgers unlocked the Asia era. This is retribution for the Astros Cheating WS win. Though, there is a lot of pressure for Dodgers to be overly accommodating to Japanese players, if one of them gets screwed and the word gets out in Japan, it’ll be a lot harder. The culture is sort of you are in or you’re out. If they get to that point, an arbitration hearing will be interesting.
I don't know why Dylan Hernandez said that Japan wanted to see Roki on a separate team from Ohtani and went on to talk about having Michael Jordan and drafting Lebron. How did he come up with this thought? If you are going to compare basketball analogies, it is like Kevin Durant joining the Golden State Warriors. Many fans like super teams. Why not have that?
I am a big baseball fan in Japan. Sasaki transfer was a kind of controversy here. He has been protected due to his immature and too young body since high school days, even after he became a professional player. He has never been in a rotation for a whole year. It was astonishing for us to know that Lotte Marines had allowed him to go to a big league without posting. I found him a strong determination. I believe he will become No. 1 pitcher in U.S.
The press wanted Sasaki to the Padres so badly but that organization is a mess right now. Plus, they’ve got some bad contracts and not much capacity to improve. Toronto was never in it and was just being trolled like everybody else. The Dodgers were a clear choice.
My favorite dodgers show is back

The Dodgers are highly likely to 5-peat
The Dodgers have finalized gathering the Japanese Infinity Stones

Dodgers finally catch a break.
