Llandudno Great Orme Cable Car & Tramway Vlog July 2018

- In this vlog we spend the afternoon in the Welsh seaside resort of Llandudno for a visit to two different attractions located on The Great Orme. Firstly, we experience The Great Orme Tramway, a funicular railway that transports tourists from the town centre to the top of the hill that was built in 1902.
After enjoying a scenic ride on the tramway we then walk onto Llandudno Pier before walking to the ground station for the cable car. The cable car opened on The Great Orme in 1969 and provides spectacular views across Llandudno and the surrounding area!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful footage, we are now about to leave to go visit, on holiday in North Wales.
Fun fact about Llandudno: Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carol was born there. There is a statue on the west beach of the white rabbit and a plaque. Also if you walk you 5o the happy Valley toboggan run through the trees there are woodland carvings and totums of scenes from Alice in Wonderland. You can also drive round the circumference of the orme too, sometimes see dolphins. Have you visited Conway just across the way? ☺

The Alpine Open Top mini-coach which you saw is a separate attraction that can be joined at a stop by the Pier. It takes you all the way up the Great Orme with on board commentary. Well worth it.
Surprising what gems can be found on our doorsteps. That tramway going through the village looks like it could be from a train set! Will visit.
It really is worth the visit!
God the great orme tram way remember going on this with my primary school when i was a kid, we took the tram all the way to the top where the little play area used to be dunno if it still is, and then i think we got tram halfway down and walked the rest of the way, but man it was a long walk, but brilliant vlog shawn hasn't changed in years since ive been there, brings back so many memories when i was a kid
Love the Great Orme, I’ll be there in 4 weeks time, enjoy it it’s a memory you won’t forget.
I love Llandudno, especially the pier. But the Great Orme cable car up to the pub on top of the hill is great too!
And I went on the Speedboat and it was a lot of fun!

Llandudno looking perfect in the sun, used to go here at least once a year, thanks for bringing back more magic memories. Did you know that in the early 70s there were two dark rides at the entrance to the pier. A ghost train and a old vintage cars ride, they both went down the sellers of a old theatre that sadly closed and in the end burned down. :(

MY MAM,DAD PLUS ME AND THEIR FRIENDS HARRY AND KATE WENT TO LLANDUDNO TWICE AND HAD A REALLY GOOD TIME.BEING INTERESTED IN RAILWAYS TOOK PICTURES OF THE TRAMWAY AND ONE OF THE DRIVERS LET ME TAKE SOME PICS INSIDE THE ENGINE HOUSE BEFORE THE NEW CANOPY WAS FITTED.I MUST PUT THE PICS ON HERE.
I live not too far from Llandudno, I only live 20 or so minutes away, and I love everything there! You should go check out the peer! I love your content so much, keep doing what you’re doing!

when I was either 3 4 or 5 I went to Llandudno a lot and one time I had a bouncy ball and I was In the bottom station and dropped it down the "maintenence" gap under the track and I never saw ye old bouncy again

I have been there on the cable car it was great the view was great at the top I remember the visitor centre at the top if I remember there was a dry ski slope and the toboggan run we always stayed on a caravan park in Rhyl it’s not far from there

If you haven't you should go to Snowdonia which not only is out of this world in beauty but also THERE ARE LOADS OF SHEEP!!! Why don't you guys go to live on a farm where there are sheep everywhere!😂
Pity you didn't make it to the top, as there's a pretty nice pub up there. I remember loving the little amusement arcade that used to be at the top when I was younger too... :)

You should try the cable cars on the Nevis Range in Scotland. They take you all the way to the top of a mountain. The views are incredible. No thrill rides at the top though lol just snow.

Llandudno is a great place
I've been there before and yes the cable car is great! We walked back down from the top and it didn't take too long . Lots of sheep to see on the way down too! As I'm a fellow sheep charlotte too! Happy anniversary guys! Did you know there's a mine you can go round halfway up the orme?

I was there the other week
Cool to see you guys in my neck of the woods! Picking up on what you were talking about around the 6 minute mark, Llandudno is definitely not your average 'deserted' seaside town over winter. I live in another seaside town about a 25 minute drive away which fits that model for sure, but I'm always surprised by just how busy Llandudno is all throughout the year, even on winter nights. Compared to somewhere like Rhyl which is a ghost town 8 months of the year, 'Dudno is a booming metropolis year round lol. It's a lovely town and I'm glad to see you had a good time!
Gotta work on that 'Ll' pronunciation for next time though mate c;

The people who own and run the arcades and fair rides on the pier in Llandudno own Tir Prince Fun Park in Towyn just outside Rhyl. They have the monopoly off North Wales. Its always been a competition between them and Knightlys since Rhyl Pleasure Beach shut down. A useless fact for you there.
