Iván Estrada its definitely not completely different as an Cuban afro latino we all have several similarities. Way more similar than difference. Race DOES matter black Latinos face much of the same discrimination in their communities as black Americans do in theres. In fact I'd argue worse because were constantly denied our identities and have to prove our selves. People are multi dimensional creatures. While theres differences in black people globally from language to music to food....theres also major similarities our heritage, ancestry, history, love of music, seasoning. Sense of humor, ways of raising our kids can be seen from all over whether its Jamaica, Dominican Republic,Cuba, St. Martin, Nigeria, Ethiopia, the U.S. Brazil, hell London. Our people are all over and its beautiful to see. Especially when we dont get to see it often. The media shoves the Sophia Vergaras and Shakiras in our face while hiding the true diversity. Nice to see that's changing.
