2.50x speed is about the fastest I can listen to Roy and still comprehend him.
Love the use of youtube chapters
I knew it was going to be long so I tried to make it easily digestible!
thanks a lot Roy! Been glad to see you on camera more recently
Getting the base game - ordered this alongside it. Can't wait to try
Great Review. Always love the enthusiasm. Can't wait to play this.
Some of the best editing of a DT video :)
Great review, Roy!
My wife and I are playing through at the moment, just defeated Taskmaster, up against Zola next, with a Thor / Cap team up.
Have been loving it, definitely an improvement to the base game, with being able to upgrade your character and the campaign mode.
Great expansion 👍
Amazing Cooperative game and good review. I really like the campaign here and more villains!
Cannot wait to play this! Really excited for the new heroes and villains and in my mind the only thing missing from this game was a campaign mode. Fantasy Flight will have all of my dollars for this one for a while!
Really appreciate the effort to avoid spoilers.
It hasn’t arrived in country yet but as soon as it shows up I plan on taking Captain America through it to start things off. I also want to try out Spider-Woman with Doctor Strange just to be able to switch the Confused and Stunned around. Sounds good in my head at least!
Just finished the campaign over the weekend, had the hardest time with Crossbones actually.
He beefs up and gets SUPER tough for sure!!
Can't wait to play this!
I know it’s one of your most anticipated! I hope you have a blast! 🙌
Ordered!!!
Great energy Roy, but I really wanted to know about the new campaign mode. I didn't really notice how it works.
You basically just play all the villains back to back and get upgrades and things that very slightly affect the campaign as the game goes along!
They did such a good job with this expansion, I love the campaign.
I don't understand. Can you mix any of the aggression cards from all the sets as long as you don't play with more than 3 copies and have 14 of them?
@@Houjixful do you mean can one mix the aggression cards from the main box with aggression cards from the RotRS expansion in the same hero deck? Yes, totally. You arent limited to using the hero cards from the box during the campaign or anything.
Really nice review! Out of curiosity, what are you using to store your game? It looks very well organized.
The artist case with broken token insert and dividers I got off of board game geek!
Awesome, thank you!
If you ay an arrow off the quiver do you discard it or keep it attached to the quiver?
Roy, I know you love Arkham LCG, but I don't know that I've heard you compare your experience to Marvel. How does the campaign in Red Skull compare to an Arkham campaign? I know it's vastly different, but wanted to hear your thoughts.
The campaign for Arkham is much deeper and richer but you feel like you were tied to that campaign... marvel champions is a lot more casual and easy to throw on the table! The Arkham campaign is definitely much richer but I enjoy champions for its one-shot nature and the short campaign is nice!
@@EpicGamingNight excellent info. Are there "chapters" like in Arkham? I figure there are since you said you can heal between missions.
@@lostfanatic6 You're asking all my questions 🤣
Cards that are both signature cards and aspect can be used by other Heroes like normal aspect cards? I am referring to spider woman cards here :) cheers
Curious, is the deck building using cards from other packs "required" or are all the characters packs fun using just the cards in their own pack right after pulling them out the box?
Like if I were to not do any deck building at all would the characters be fairly balanced?
In my experience they are fun without any deck building.
I’ve played 8 different heroes now, and while some are trickier to get the hang of than others, deckbuilding has never felt required: the pre-built decks are good.
Not “required “, but, there are some cards I use in EVERY deck, like the one that gives you +3 hit points, or +2 rec. On the other hand, I try to use different cards and try different combinations, different aspects.
Does this need the base game? I want to play a solo campaign, but does that mean I need to buy this AND the base set?
Yes
So presumably this works as a standalone game independent from the base box?
You still need the tokens and several of The card sets to be able to play! So sadly it is not stand alone.
Ah, ok, thanks Roy, it seemed like a good opportunity to try before investing in the bigger box, like the Villainous expansions did, that probably would have sold me on both products... maybe next time you review something you could be less enthusiastic so I can save some money? 🤣
Taskmaster was also put into the upcomming Marvel United from CMON. I wonder if that means they are planning to do something with him in the MCU?
He’s in the upcoming Black Widow movie, I believe
@@marks6928 correct, he was in the first trailer that came out back in March, that's why everyone's adding him, grabbing onto the hype
@@DanielHolding yep, he is in the Avengers Video Game too
Great Review! I was wondering if it is possible to play this set in non-campaign form without first playing the campaign. Is that a good idea? Or should you just play the campaign and then start to play the individual scenarios?
Never played Champions. Is it more akin to LoTR LCG or Aeons End?
Very very very basic lotr. I ended up getting rid of it because it’s just too much of the same thing imo
@@bengroothuis5061 I heard great thinks about lotr I am tempted to get it because it is true Marvel feels basic
I have room for both and they’re the 2 most played games for me this year. It’s definitely easier than LOTR but scratches a different itch.
Definitely recommend both games if you have the desire and means!
My favorite party was when he referred to Spider Woman as Wonder Woman. 🤣
I said Jessica Drew is a wonderful woman! 😝
@@EpicGamingNight go to 1:58. Still, well done.
My favourite part was when Eric said it was his favourite party 🤣
My favorite part was where you said party instead of part!
Hehhehe Wonder Woman gets bonuss for playing aspects....
I would think that using Captain America instead of Hawkeye or Spider-Woman would work really well too?
I'm realy surprised with FFG with this game, of course they still do their terribe money grabbing schemes with the blisters(specialy because they don't have most avengers in the main game) but the boxes have a great.
We played last night with Dr.Strange and Hawkeye and found out that Dr.Strange is so much better then any other character. I think he might be unbalanced on many scenarios.
