    I just got gifted an old singer 31k19!! The one with the kick foot... got it from the original owners son, with the table, sl2 lamp, bobbin winder and original clutchless semi-industrial 180w singer motor that sits under the table and has a brake on it...
    It will be used and preserved just as is, no modern ad ons.

    I was able to confirm that my machine is a 31-20 by comparing it to the info on this video. The plate for the model number is missing. The serial number confirms where and when it was made. It is a fantastic machine.

    Hey Derek! So the bobbin case and the bobbins are different sizes from the 31-15 and the 31-20???? Can you tell me a good supplier for parts for a 31-20?? Thanks for your time! Love the videos!

      Hi thanks for watching. As to a supplier I don’t have one. Just get the part number and call your local industrial sewing shop. Or an internet one.

    • @derekdoeschannel
      @derekdoeschannel  4 месяца назад

      Hi, there should be a spring with a small screw on the side of the bobbin case that you can tighten up to get more tension. Also make sure your bobbin is wound correctly and not loose as that will affect it also.

    I've just acquired a vintage Singer. The model plate is gone and the serial number is hard to read. I'm thinking it's a 95, but it could also be a 31 from the looks of it. It's mounted on a free motion quilting frame and doesn't have a feed dogs or stitch length regulator (not necessary for free motion). What has surprised me the most is how QUIET these machines are!

    • @derekdoeschannel
      @derekdoeschannel  Год назад

      I’ve seen and had machines converted to free motion machines. You can just add the feed dogs back to sew regular again. 95s are just shorter 31s. If you measure it you’ll know which one you have.

      I don't think you can easily add reverse. Best to just get another machine with it if you need it.
