Back in the early ‘80s I worked in 2 different businesses that still had these old fashioned telephone “cord boards” they were fun to operate. I think it is neat that I got a chance to use this old technology before they were all replaced by modern switchboards. I’ve done a lot of switchboard work over the years but still don’t have a cell phone (go figure).
William Campbell who plays PVT. Wallace is General Trelane (ret.) off of Star Trek episode "The Squire of Gothos". Also played Captain Koloth on another star trek "The Trouble with Tribbles". Was also on Bonanza and Wild Wild West episodes. Can be quite the sinister character without trying.
That is why dubbing can really add to a role. In German THE JUNKER had a real high pitched child like voice from the start and for the Koloth part a different one more mature voice - so in German that were two different actors talking those roles.
Very funny how a German "Jeep" runs into a building, Sgt. Saunders takes one look at the front end and signals that it's kaput, then steam comes billowing up from I suppose the radiator. Except the engine is in the back of the vehicle, and it's air cooled. Oh well, who knew what a Kubelwagen was in the 1960's. It was also called the Type 82 according to wikipedia. Don't get me wrong, I love the show! But that's Hollywood.
Louis Lopez Yeah, that's a hoot. Also how tires squeal when turning a corner on dirt! Or how German K98 mausers fire without working the bolt! But I still love the show.
@@Unborn-Lives-Matter For all its flaws, it was a great TV show. They did actually get a lot of things right. I can watch it for hours. And I do pick on it a little myself lol.
" A GERMAN JEEP " - basically the real Germans had the KÜBELWAGEN with a BUG - motor thanks to the curtesy of the VOLKSWAGEN COMPANY. Fun Fact: the VOLKSWAGEN COMPANY had been founded as a smoke screen for the interntional public due to the WORLD WAR ONE REGULATIONS FOR GERMANY. So secretly Military Cars were running over the bands. and the authentic Volkswagen cars were mostly just a hoax. Just after World War II they were built in series. So theEXHAUSTION SCANDAL was not the first big mess the Volkswagen people had done. Fun Fact: WOLFSBURG was just founded for those evil plans to get world domination. In fact the Nazis had fused a couple of small towns for this. And Wolfsburg is in fact another name for Hitler because WOLF had been his nickname among his FRIENDS if a true Psychopath like him ever could had real friends.
Interesting that people making comments with horrible spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure expect perfect realism from a network series on a low to moderate budget producing 32 one hour episodes a season. Granted, some things could have been better in some episodes, such as not using footage of PzKw Is and IIs in 1939 Poland for 1944 France, or reloading small arms once in a while. But in a TV show like this to whine about having realistic intervals, use of cover, tactics, etc. given their obvious budget, location, plot and other filming constraints is frankly not very mature.
The best line about this I read from a viewer was roughly "Alfred Hitchcock said a good film is real life without all the boring parts." So unless you get a woody watching Sergeant reload his weapon, just figure he did it without it being filmed. ;-)
Very Suspenseful! I like that Saunders always is willing to take a risk to accomplish the mission. He never asks his men to take risks that he himself will not take. Lt. Hanley on the other hand is always trying to please "headquarters" and seldom gives a damn about the men. Throughout the run of "Combat!" I never could respect Hanley like I could Sgt. Saunders. Just my opinion, but if I was a Private under Hanley I'd leave him hanging the first chance I got...
It is Just a Movie, and Rick Jason, (RIP) LT Hanley, Officer , Just followed the Scripts .. Remember, VIc Morrow asked , for more of The Show .. Both Great Excellent Actors .
Loved the show as a kid.Never thought I would be in the infantry Marines 10 years later.

Elsbeth Humphrey Cool. My mom worked at one like it back in the 50's in a very small town.
Love the series
This HAS to be the LONGEST teaser first act in the series at over 8 minutes!

German soldier seems to be using a 5 cell Ray-O-Vac flashlight, I still have one.
Quiro todas las. Serie de combate serie de tele visión en español
Saya sangat suka Combat
Some themes defy logic. All alone, into an occupied building, no escape to tap a phone line. Tap the line a mile or two out of town.
Just love these Monday morning quarterbacks...
It's called good writing. This is fiction.

Lieutenant Hanley has quite a bit of compassion, but he is a lieutenant, he’s not a boots on the ground type of soldier anymore, he got promoted.
Hello.Thank
This Episode S04 E 11 Cut off …
here
I don't like this 15mn. crap. I can never find the one after the first.
When I uploaded Combat! I was restricted to a 15 minute video limit. If I was allowed to upload the entire episode as one video I would have.
