Great video very useful. Been a subscriber for years now. Will buy a Savage once my bank account looks ready. Probably an XL. Been in the nitro Gang Air Force for about 3 years now and even built a hydroplane with a .40 OS nitro engine. Need to have that 3 speed baby!
It's good. Gonna need aluminum clutch shoes and the upgraded diffs
Had a Savage X 4.6 find me, it was left for dead under a pile of dust, dirt and rubbish for 5 years. Made the fellow an offer and he let me have it. It seemed to have only run a few times before it was parked and forgotten about. Came home and cleaned it up, replaced only the air filter. Soaked the engine in nitro for 3 days. Had my kids shouting 3 SPEED BABY !!! Sickening. Another nitro to never let go of, a family heirloom along with my Revo, Havoc, 3 Jammin buggies and a Hobao buggy. Keep the videos coming, I have learned so much about nitro and rc from you my dude. Thank you and keep it running rich. From sunny, nitro loving South Africa.

I've had my Savage .25 SS for 20 years this year, bought new in '03! I just bought a new Savage X 4.6 (gt3) on Saturday 28th Oct '23 in Calgary! Can't wait to break it jn and run it with my SS. Keep on Nitro truckin gang!❤❤

thank you dude!! Yes, this savage really never let me down and it's still like new even after all those runs in the sand and jumps. After the sand it wasn't even tough to clean, just some minimal cleaning really and it still looks like new!! Thanks again!

Cracking content as usual Dimi. The nitrogang appreciates your efforts. I like the 4.6 because it wheelies very nicely, the gearbox seems more reliable and the fuel consumption is less than the XL. Good point about the throttle trim knob. I installed a fancy reciever for a high end sanwa radio for one of my nitros. Adjusting the damn throttle trim was a pain and I really missed the HPI trim

Anyway, totally agree on the efficiency of the 4.6 model, the XL is a Nitro Guzzler! LOL, the things which need to be manual KNOB trims are throttle and steering trim, totally agree.
16:05 curious to see the hump pack mentioned. link wasn't provided, yet. Might get a 5.9 eventually and I haven't owned a new Nitro in a while so I need all of the things. Getting parts for a Nitro Stampede got tough, it turned into a shelf king.

the best thing to do is toss the exhaust and get a rd logics mid pipe , steering servo over 500oz and a controller with a gyro . personally i have a gt5 and a reefs 500 in mine . after that its a whole new beast .
Still loving mine. Been through quite a few of the plastic pipes though! Metal hpi one on the way. We meed more Savage Content!!!
And, happy to see you here, I will have a couple more awesome Savage videos, coming out shortly, including the original Savage 21 and the last generation GT six model. I’m curious, why are you having plastic pipe issues I have never ran into issues with those tights ever.
@@hybrid32494 The nipple for the fuel line for back pressure to the tank tends to break free from the pipe itself. Leaving you with an exhaust leak and no way to prime it! Love the savage content!! Good thing youre keeping the older models and hobby alive. A bashing video with the new xl would be appreciated. I plan on picking one up and just wanna see if its worthwhile adding to the collection on top of my 4.6

Yup, i will buy a gt-6 v2 one day. You can NEVER have to many Savages. It is ubiquitous as the nitro monster truck basher! I got the wr8 re-release, ill get off my wallet the second there is an SS kit option. 😀, remeber those. I know its dwarfed by the rtr market but, i think there is market space hear. Hope the baja kits are doing well. And am always excited to see what hpi cooks up

Last I remember only. ARRMA goes on sales, and crawlers. The nitros are pretty consistently priced the past few years. Although we can look forward to it, I know I am!!

I understand the XL was having problems with staying in stock and some people went with the 4.6.
But the XL is much better value in my opinion. For $100 more you get the 5.9, 3 speed, aluminum tuned pipe, extended chassis, rroto start with the starter, and I think an upgraded radio. Great value for
$100

hey my dude! YOu're totally right, at this point the Savage XL is the best one to get for the 100 price increase. The newest models have had all their early issues corrected as well, and the 3-speed is no longer a problem. I will begin savage for one myself.

What ever floats your boat i guess. i used to like it back in the days but iv moved on from all that sticky nitro rubbish that makes an absolute mess and All the tuning an pull cords snapping glow plugs failing an not to mention people moaning about the noise and the fact its a hpi savage i have a hpi savage xl flux it's just as bad as the nitro savage 😂

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you’re after tuning advice all I can tell you is TRIAL & ERROR. But what I do have is a unique set of skills that makes tuning a nitro a nightmare for a noob like you. My tuning screw driver is very long and only has a 4mm flat tip. No matter where you are, I will find you and show you the roto start and heat gun so you never break a pullstart again
