    Got my BCA 7.62x39 for $399 a few months back. Did a ton of work to it and it's my go to hunting rifle sub moa 100yds benchrest.
    Green Mountain 16" barrel
    Guntec Keymod FF rail w/adjustable gas block
    A2 flash hider (works amazing compared to my yhm phantom on my WASR so why change it)
    Failzero BCG & CH
    Black rifle arms Extended firing pin and xp hammer spring
    Failzero Buffer tube and FCG
    Trs-25 with vortex magnifier.
    I had no issues with light primer strikes until i swapped the trigger out then the firing pin and spring swap helped immensely now the hammer drops like an ak and the firing pin sticks out like my SKS. Black rifle arms is one of the very few manufacturers that actually extend the pin unlike most that radius a 5.56 one. 1500rds in about 300 after upgrade no issues since.

    You can use the JP enterprises light trigger spring and still run the enhanced hammer spring for hard primer steel case, I believe kit is under $15.

  • @MarineBoar
    @MarineBoar 6 лет назад +3

    May I suggest that you look at the Hipertouch triggers (24 series) that offers a $6.00 7.62x39 spring kit upgrade that ensures no light strikes and maintains a 3.5 lb trigger pull ? Just a thought, but looks like what I'll use on my upcoming build. :) As to primer seating depth, that's not the difference causing the light strikes. The steel cased ammo with their mil spec primer has a greater distance between the anvil and striker within the primer cup. If you reload, it's always safer to have the outer surface of the rimer slightly below the level of the rear of the case. :)

    Nice build. Just finished mine. Enhanced firing pin is highly recommended. Extra power spring will help but not always needed. I got them for the extra insurance. Also, you can run the nickel boron carrier and swap the bolts if you wanted too. Looking forward to more updates. Nice build. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

    • @tristarcustoms77
      @tristarcustoms77  6 лет назад

      Abraham Lopez I probably didn’t make it real clear in the video but should have, that I ended up using a regular mil-spec spring instead of an extra power spring. The mod I was doing to my firing pin is the same as an enhanced firing pin to the best of my knowledge. And I definitely considered running that nickel boron carrier with my bolt. I’m going to run the carrier I have for a while and check it for unusual wear. I want to sell the nickel boron one and if I can get more for than what my current BCG cost I’ll be able to reduce my overall build price, which is always one of my goals 👍🏻Hopefully I’ll be able to post an update video soon with hunting footage within the next month🤞🏼

    • @johnsellers2999
      @johnsellers2999 4 года назад +1

      Yea Jordan would like to see the hunting video. You make a lot of sense talking about selling the one bolt to bring price down. I have to start thinking that way. One of my biggest problems is when I buy parts for my guns,I always say I will sell old. But I can never let anything go. I'm a hoarder when it comes to gun parts and it's not like I have money to spare. I have to get over this bad habit.

    • @tristarcustoms77
      @tristarcustoms77  4 года назад

      I totally understand brother. And even being in the firearms business it sounds logical to keep “extra parts” but if those parts are worth money you need to move them to keep cash flow coming. The same idea is true for the average gun guy. If you ain’t using that junk get rid of it to buy things that you’ll get more use/enjoyment out of. It takes time to get into that mindset. BTW I wish I had better footage of the deer I killed with my 7.62 AR but it really wasn’t worth watching lol. And I currently traded that gun for a brand new set of 35’s for my truck 😂

      @@HardHeadMilitary its difficult to get any less expensive than the BCA upper. Primary Arms has some good sales on Radical 7.62 uppers too.
      Ive built several. Some have a BCA x39 barrel. At the holiday sales the barrels are $50.I also have built them with Faxon and Diamond back barrels. Faxons are the best, but are they worth 3x the cost of a BCA barrel? Maybe. Tool Craft makes a great BCG in x39 that comes with an enhanched firing pin. They run about $80. If you are really scrimping, Unbranded AR sells just the x39 bolt with enhanced pin for $40. You can drop that into any of your 556 carriers.
      CPD mags are the only 28 or 30 round mags that Ive found work 100%. ASC or any other 10 rounders work fine too, but not the 30 rounders.
      One thing people make a big mistake on, it is not cheaper to shoot 7.62 x 39. If anything, it is more expensive. Mags cost more, steel cased ammo prices are the same, brass is more expensive for x39 (significantly), and hunting ammo is more expensive for x39.

Man I made a mistake one time and got ripped off and bought 100 rounds of that Tula crap for my rifle same AR platform filled up a 30 rounder got to #10 and tossed the rest of that shit in the bushes,, out of 10 rounds 6 of them fired, basically every other round went bang,, pulled out some wolf ammo and got to 15 ,and only loaded 15 and kept them but not for my AR ,I got some fiochi (spelling?) Brass case and just felt better about it and some other brass rounds and haven't been able to make my 7.63x39 AR upper misfire again,, on my 3rd case of 1000 pretty good,,
    I was hoping your range day was going to be a good day then I heard the worst word on the planet..TULA !!! I know this dude that uses Tula in his carry sidearm!! If he was a family man or had more sense I would tell his ass about that bad decision, but maybe he won't shot himself one day,lol

      Never had a single issue with Tula in any of my firearms. My x39 AR loves it. Wolf is made different cartridge works with Tula being the most common for their 7.62 x 39 ammo. Tula make the 8m3 "effect" bullet. It is a very good performing bullet.

    Ar stoner Magazines are the best ones you can get even tho some of the reviews are shitty but ive had two 30 rounders for about 7 months an (Knock on wood) havent had a issue yet. Little tip with the mags spray some gun lube under the Sitting plate in the Magazine so the spring an plate slide easier because when i first got mine they were stiff.

      An the steel Ammo doesnt work half the time because the primers are much stiff then brass rounds made in america. The steel rounds are made in Russia
