Every man should have a walking stick on him to help him get around... and to help him with dealing with the uncivilized elements of society.
Really interesting video. Here where I live in England, it's quite easy to find straight blackthorn trunks with nice root balls too. I've just dug a few and they're drying for two years.
Howdy from TEXAS, thanks for sharing...
realy nice video heiko ,thank you 4 the Review!
@5:31 finally! - someone walking with a shillelagh.
Wow amazing ending👍
Cool cool
nice.
Well hello there! How long is this stick? Just wondering aus dem Hunsrück!
André kann verschiedene Längen an die Körpergröße des Wanderers anpassen. Dieser hat bei meinen 186 cm eine Länge von 98 cm
Walking sticks can be straightened. It doesn’t mean the finished product grew as straight as it comes to you 😃
And straightening the stick in a slow and well done process is a sign for a good stickmaker
They can grow that straight. I find them all the time. Quite common around where I live
So which is it? A German Blackthorn or "Irish Shillelagh"?
Can't be both........ 😅
Well, that is a deep philosophical question, that needs a long and intense amount of drinking….. thinking!!! I mean, thinking!!!
@@tuerkefechi Simple answer: Geography! If it's from Germany it can't also be from Ireland. 🤦
Well, we Germans are known for our craftsmanship, so German Blackthorn/Shillelaghs is good for me. On a more serious note, I already had sticks from three different makers from Ireland and I have to say, they were all very good, but the ones made by Andre Buedesheim in Germany are the absolute best, period.
@@tuerkefechi I agree, German craftsmanship is superior in many ways, my ancestors The Holtzclaus' were amazing craftsmen. Why not be proud of a product of Germany and sell it as such. It may be superior, it may be "Irish" Style, all I'm saying is it still isn't from IRELAND.
@@JeremyDuncan1985 Well, we are very proud to present these wonderful Blackthorn Walking Sticks made in the Rhine-Valley, made from Blackthorn (and other woods). The inspiration comes from the Irish Sticks of course and in style it is an Irish Shillelagh made in Germany.
