This amzaing example of music should be more promoted, than some of the crap on TV. i LOVE tIBET, ITS CULTURE AND ITS MUSIC, LONG LIVE TIBET AND LONG LIVE SONAM.
The thing that she did for the first 1 min. What is it called? Is there a name for this kind of singing? I found it unique to Mongolians and Tibetans. I would love to listen it for hours without any distraction from instruments.
@@Colgate_888 well i'm a Tibetan born and brought up in exile but what i can say is that back in Tibet, people especially the nomads young and old would always be singing as they go about their work - grazing their yak and sheep or just going about their work. They sing loud as the grasslands are huge and they maybe the only one for miles keep themselves occupied and raise their vibrations.
Current day Sok Zong doesn't not allow any Chinese in the area to settle...recent years Chinese miners came to that part of the land to mine the mountains..We beat the hell out of them and kicked them out from there. Sok Tsenden Goenpa, the famous Sandlewood Monastery is closed to all outsiders because it is politically involved.
Phayul Sok Tsenden Goen....one of the most politically involved tribes of Historical Tibet. Culture and politics should be involved because this song is about Sok Zong...please don't use "Shen" That is a Chinese word....we have the word Zong in Tibetan for district.
The people there are strict followers of H.H the Dalai Lama and for a free Tibet so we are after all politically involved. Don't tell us to not mix culture and politics, especially when it concerns Sok Zong. Thank you very much.
Unfortunately this harms people like me who want to visit Tibet and talk to the Tibetans. The Chinese government blocks any access if there are political conflicts :-(
