  • In this video, I show you how to find wild mushrooms, and go over the basic mushroom foraging gear. If you are new to mushroom hunting in Washington, or any other state, the most important first step is to get a quality mushrooming book. Start by learning how to identify mushrooms, before you do your first mushroom forage & cook! Shrooming is a ton of fun and a delicious hobby if done responsibly. Since many people want to learn how to find morels, and where do morels grow, I will do a future video, specifically on how to find Morel mushrooms in Washington State 101.

I lived on Kauai 13 years, my favorite grew out of cow pie. Tasted so bad, we made strawberry milkshakes to help. Then we laughed for 3-7 hours.
skateboarding was our thing. Fishing for wild trout has always been my passion from 7 years old, i caught my first fish, a rainbow trout, 1967.

I just want to say that I appreciate you and your videos on so many levels. My husband and I have been binge watching your videos, and I have to say that you are one of the best RUclipsrs that I have seen (and I watch a lot). I love the content you cover and, although I do like fishing, I absolutely loved that you did a video on foraging. I hope you make more! We live in Northeast Minnesota and foraging for wild edibles is big up here. You meet so many different people’s needs and interests! Also, THANK YOU for thanking the fish that you eat and honoring their life. I super appreciate that. Your respect for the Earth is so apparent, and it makes me really happy to watch you feeling so joyful out in nature. You’re the best!!! P.S. my husband says you should totally come fishing with us in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness!!!

Just went morel hunting in May about an hour from Wenatchee Washington. My girlfriend and I went there two times and got about 4-5 pounds of huge black morels both times we went there. They are hands down my favorite mushroom of all time. Plus they’re like an Easter egg hunt, every time I find one it makes me jump up and down with excitement.

@@NWFishingSecrets I found some in Michigan, which are extremely rare since we don't get as much rain as you guys in WA. Still tasted amazing tho. This was 40 years ago but I think there was a old abandoned school we drove past and then took a logging road on the left that went up a steep winding hill, which was really scary cuz there were blind corners. And it was great mushrooming. I'm almost 80 now so I don't go out anymore.
