honestly might be the most helpful tutorial i've found to get started. other tutorials didn't get into the waveforms and what the colors meant, or how to use the track selection wheel. good stuff

@@BopDJstore: I have the same controller and software (rekordbox) but when I cue the next song ..when I put the headphone volume up on the flx4..it's all putting the Master volume up (external speakers) ruining the current track playing by putting its volume up as well...any help please

Hiya, ive selected 'Use laptop speakers' in the settings on serato but still cant get anything to play through laptop once ive connected the controller to the computer. Please help!

The DDJ-FLX4 comes with a USB-C to C cable, is your Macbook new or dated as you'll most likely need USB-C to A otherwise

Which is the best music software for old school hip hop?
All software is good for what ever genre you decide to go down, so it highly depends on what unit you are going for. If you want to use stems and isolate hip hop vocals I would recommend Serato as its algorithm is amazing, but is very CPU intensive.
My inbuilt laptop speakers are not working with this, they work normally when not connected to the flx4. any tips to fix that please? I'm using rekordbox by the way.
In Rekordbox Audio settings there is a check box that allows you to select use internal laptop speakers!
Is it better to use MacBook Pro or Air( adding more memory to air) please help
So long as it meets the recommended requirements for your DJ software you'll be absolutely fine
You can choose whatever you want! On the record box site is a list of differs iOS of witch ones are working!

at 3:49 why did u turn the low EQ on the second track back on? since there is no blue on the waveform, there is no bass? or am i missing something, i'm new
Although it looks like there was no bass based on the wave form, EQing does still take frequencies away and those that reside between the lows & mids would have been effected. So by turning it back on I retained the true original sound, so it sounds thicker in the mix.
The flx4 is amazing. But im havings issues. I use the samsung tab s8 and rekordbox. Pre cueing doesnt seem to work . For eg : when i select the cue on channel 2 with the volume down ,hoping to hear the song in heaphones. It just plays the song out loud . Its a nightmare
Use a Latop or Pc. It should work there

Hi Sayat, in order to connect your DDJ-FLX4 all you need is USB cable from the unit to your device. If you are struggling to get it setup you may also download firmware from Pioneer DJs website 😄

Yes, I know that, and I downloaded a program on a laptop, but I cannot control it. There is no integrated connection. Are there settings to operate a device with a program?
A kit for connecting a ddj device with a laptop that works, it works in connection with it, and I cannot control it, but it is controlled from a laptop only, and a sound comes out of the earphone @Bop DJ

Older Mac do not have a C output, have to use USB “A” to “ C” to Controller.

If you go to settings in the top right corner and audio, you can select your Macbook speakers as your main audio source :)

Hi Shreen, to bring the song back to the beginning you can use a few methods. Using a hot cue, which can be triggered on the drum pad, using memory cue or using your laptop track pad and selecting the start of the track on the timeline!

In this demo I used the 4 Beat / Exit button for the loop function! This creates a 4 beat loop without having to set start and end points 😄

Not quite, but I’d recommend organising your playlists in Rekordbox by using Folders and Playlists. This way, you can create a Folder for each genre and then break it down into playlists where tracks naturally complement each other. For example, I have a ‘House’ folder with playlists like House Ethnic, House Swung, House Classics, and House Experimental. It takes time to set up, but it makes finding the right track so much easier in the long run!
