Smart reference.... I heard that once you go into the Hewlett House, you can't get back out through the time displacement shield. In his house, David's kitchen is forever-stuck in the 80's!
This man, I mean wow! how he is in the middle of moving, have boxes up to his neck, and still have time to do a video, and he isn't even a full time vlogger. This is dedication.
What a great place!!! So, it needs a little work, but wow! David, thank you for allowing us this amazing tour! And you're right, those skylights are wonderful. Good windows, too.
Oh man, the packing and unpacking is the worst part of moving. You have a beautiful home, however, and I'm sure it'll look amazing once everything is in its place. Thank you for sharing this with us! It's so interesting to get a glimpse into the House of Hewlett.
Watching your webcasts in reverse.... it’s like going back in time to the days of purple/pink bathtubs and toilets.. except for the eggshell colored one upstairs. Lol.
Mars knew he was in trouble :) He wouldn't even look at you! My son and I cut out and folded around 15 creepers (before the fancy boxed sets) for his class Valentine's a couple of years ago and I folded origami flowers for the ladies. We won't be doing that again, but the kids absolutely LOVED it! We have a couple of the boxed sets and he will also play with them when he gets bored with the computer. I love them because they are "old school" type toys. Your house is lovely! You need to get a PO box so we can start sending you cool stuff for the fan cave :) I already have a couple of things to send you!
I'm all work, work, work nowadays with about 3-4hrs of sleep a night. Wouldn't want to turn into a 'Mackay' without the genius part! But, your videos, they make my day ! This last one, your new house, was great, very generous of you. The curve wall isn't very practical since it's concave. A convex wall would have been great for a sofa or a big round couch. Take care!
Wow! Thanks for the tour. It's a beautiful home! So airy, and tons of light. Looks like you have plenty of room, and work ahead of you. I agree with other folks here, that if the curved wall isn't load bearing, it might be a good idea to knock it down. More money, but it will give you more usable space. And is the chimney a priority? Leaning doesn't sound too family friendly. Poor Mars. It's hard for older pups to keep adjusting to new places. Just give him lots of hugs and attention, especially during the renovation. That will be tough on him. Make sure he has his own spot that makes him feel safe. Can't wait to see what mischief you get into!
Wow, that was very nice of you to give us a personal tour of your new home! Love the open ceilings and skylights and a very unique layout. I know open concept is really big but, I like the curved wall in the living room I thinks it's nice to have some unique features in a house. When you first spoke about it I was really expecting a fixer upper. Seems like you have some personalizing and of course light remodeling (Bathrooms and Kitchen) to make it your own but looks very livable now. Really like it! I think we share similar taste's just hope there are know hidden problems plaguing you in the future, best of luck guys.
Congratulation on moving successfully, even if Mars did a little disappearing act :) Currently living in a 36 square meter rental, I couldn't be more envious of all that space, and especially the skylights! But I'm happy for you all, looks like you have found yourself a wonderful, if for the moment rather interestingly decorated/coloured home :) Looking forward to seeing how you transform it ^_^
Looking good - both the house and you, obviously. You sure have a lot of stuff. I can see why the curved wall would be confusing to somebody who plays a lot of Minecraft. ;-) And I, too, LOVE the skylights!
Wonderful house, will be great when you get it all the way you want it. You love in. Fantastic city, I really enjoyed my stopover on my way back to the UK from Chicago, great love entertainment at Dundas Square last night. You're so lucky to be able to live in Toronto!
Love, love, love all the windows and sky lights! One of the reasons we picked the current house we live in is because of all the windows. I hope you give us another walk through once you've made the changes you have planned.
The house looks great, I really like the layout & can't wait to see what it looks like when you've gone all Reno nerd on the place! I'm interesting in seeing if you keep the pink bathroom suite ;)
Love the look of the place. Just wait until after everything is fully unpacked and in place! You'll go back and watch this and wonder "HOW THE HECK DID EVERYTHING FIT!" :D
Oh if i lived in Toronto I would love to help you unpack & set up your house as it just looks so amazing & kool! So huge!! I love it. That pink bath tub & toilet is hideous! I feel sorry for you.... haha. Curved wall is interesting, but the lil nook, maybe it can be for Mars, his own lil bachelor pad where he can hang out ;) Or a play area for Baz? The Baz corner? Or put a big blue door in front of it, paint it like a police box & have your very own indoor TARDIS! :D Thanks for the tour David!
Thanks for the tour! I love the architecture in your new place; those wooden beams on the third floor were gorgeous, and the stained glass windows! The bathrooms are almost so ugly they're cute. I'm really looking forward to geeking out as you renovate your new home, it's beautiful and has a bunch of potential! Xx
I love the skylights and the beams in whatever room that you started in! I'm not sure if it's how the color translated on my computer screen, but I didn't think the upstairs bathroom was too bad. A little dull, but not horrid. I kind of liked the mirror and the pop of color from the sink (come to think of it though, actually utilizing the mirror might be a little difficult.) But the downstairs bathroom... have fun with that! I kind of like the curved wall. It's a unique feature. However - yeah, the lack of couch space isn't nice. If you do build one to fit, that would be very interesting to see! I'm glad Mars is okay - it's a scary feeling when pets go missing! (But, knowing that he's safe... I always think it's kind of nice when older pets show a little bit of their old spunk!)
Thanks for the tour. The skylights are amazing. Here in Arizona we have plenty of natural light, but you have so many (or it appears so) that here we'd need sunblock to walk from the bedroom to the kitchen, and we'd all turn to leather in our living room. Also - I kept thinking how perfect it would have been if you were holding one of the Stargate Atlantis tablets..."it says here that this is the living room, and I can't find anything in the database about the curved wall. What were they thinking when they built this?"
gad to see your moved in even if its a bit of a mess, knowing from experience its always a nice feeling. I've moved house about 8 times in the last 18 years and the fact that i'm only 18 has made moving very common in my life or thought never normal or easy and still takes months and uhh but i expect you know this already but anyway glad your able to start unpacking and i hope the pluming starts working soon.
Great! Thanks to share this with us. And whaaa, your pink bathroom :-) (my grandmother's bathroom is pink too ;-) ) Such a nice place to take a bath ^^
Oh my gosh, a PINK bathroom! :-D I love the ceiling windows though, so much light everywhere, that's perfect. Good luck with all the work you have ahead of you. I'm sure it's gonna be nice home once it's all done :-)
Thank you for sharing you new house with everybody. Love the wide open skylights and all the neat little nooks and crannies. And I love pink but wow, that bathroom is really, uh, something. Plus those are some tiny commodes. Looking forward to seeing the renovations. I just love that stuff. In somebody else's house, though, not mine. I don't have the patience for that. ;) Best wishes. Enjoy your new home.
Love the space!! So many odd angles upstairs with lovely exams and little corners but so light and airy. It's a beautiful place!! If my pup went missing for an hour is age 20 years partly couz she is deaf so I couldn't call her but it's would be heart attack city for me!! You should do time delay vids of you decorating or pimping/nerding out the basement. Put some Benny Hill music to it (RUclips Benny hill it's an English thing I think lol) You seem very relaxed tho which is good.
nice, I can see some fun work a head, if you want a thought if you are going to do any tile work look up spetralock Grout Glow Dazzle additive. This additive makes the grout glow a light blue, no need for a night light in the bathroom. good luck!!
David, you and Jane have a beautiful house! Love the multilevel house with the skylights and bright windows! Use it well!! Thanks so much for sharing. Looking forward to seeing the basement too.
Nice house! Love the skylights, and boy, do I remember the mess after moving! We still have boxes yet to unpack after our last move (I won't tell you when that was), and I suppose when I've finally opened them, like Mrs. Incredible, I'll call the Husbandly One and tell him we are now officially moved in. I counter your purple bath fixtures with Peptobismol pink tile counters in my kitchen (one day, ONE DAY they will be replaced, I swear!!) that date back to the 1950's. Still, you have a lovely home full of possibilities, and I envy you your nerd space and unexpected corners!! I was going to say wouldn't it be awesome if Lego and Minecraft got together, but my Google-Fu shows that Lego and Minecraft have already done it, and now I find I'm going to have to grab some for my son. This is entirely your fault, but I forgive you. Especially if I can squirrel away some for myself.
Much of that house is very 80's. I suggest putting a computer desk in that nook in the corner. I assume most of your tech will be in the "Fan Cave" but surely Jane needs to use a computer from time to time. I hope Baz has fun with his Minecraft forms. I often think kids today have much cooler toys than I had growing up.
Ha.. Also, I'm in the middle of putting together a cool junk art sign that says "FanCave" for my little nerd room... You ought to look into one of those too sometime! ;D
***** Thanks much, someone here dubbed it "ghetto salmon" ...and congrats to you on your Carmilla series...I've got bat hunting in Warwickshire and you've got lesbian vampires on campus...I'm on the wrong channel! Carmilla | Episode 1 | Based on the J. Sheridan Le Fanu Novel
Truly amazed how open you are about your life, home etc Hard to imagine anyone being as "public" as yourself with what is going on in their life. Really embraced the whole media aspect to a degree simply not seen elsewhere and all credit to you for that. Place looks great, would love those skylights but in London not sure they would be much use 90% of the time. Good luck with the unpacking and thanks for all the entertainment.
Thanks so much...I find it very therapeutic to be honest. Lovely London! The weather we had while we were there, beat the summer out of the Toronto weather so don't give up on those skylights just yet!
Hey I'm from Germany and just finished re-watching all of the Stargate Franchise and now I found this channel, pretty cool :) nice to watch an actor doing the ordinary stuff life brings along ^^ I'll check out the whole channel now and I really hope to see more in here ;) best greetings
Molti TV - test area unlimited Welcome and thanks for dropping by! I find that there's a lot of fun and funny stuff that comes out of the "ordinary stuff"...always adventures to be found!
You got the walkthrough vid up! Seems like a great house, despite the broken toilet and 80's kitchen. There's tons of potential by the looks of it - I would have a hay day interior decorating a place like that. LOVE the huge skylights! I'd like to put one in above my bedroom, but I don't think the people in the apartment above us would appreciate it. lol... After reading some of the comments on your last video, I think I really must be the odd one out. I've only ever moved three times in my life, two that I remember. My hubby and I have been in the same apartment since we got married in August of 2007. BIG movers, we are... :-P Oh and glad Mars is ok! I know that awful sinking feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when a pet goes missing. Must've been just too much excitement for the poor old pup to take!
Thank you so much for that. I love getting to check out new homes (the Explorer in me:) and I appreciate you letting us in. BTW: How did you like the 12th Dr's fist episode? I'm on 10ths last season and I'm trying to catch up but plan to keep up with the 12th along the way:)
Hey David: Maybe they make an inverse curve TV? you could put there? Oh and that Bathroom: LOVELY Colors! Just think what a little Orange and Purple Poka-Dots- could do to spank that room up! Seriously, Congratulations! The house looks Beautiful Even a Tri-Level WOW! And best of all: you can even see Mars from your dining room!
Your house looks so nice, I canr wait to see the fan cave, once you have everything unpacked and set out how you will have it will you be doing a finished house tour? That would be great
Great tour! Can't wait for part 2 when it's done. And the pink bathroom? Very retro - we've got pink tile (on walls, not tub) from 1950s. And the curved wall? I'd leave it be. Former tenants probably just walled up bodies of pesky salesmen in there. ;)
You laugh, but I found all sorts of bones when I dug up the basement of my first house...turned out to be cow...but still...bones in the basement? Who does that?!
Beware Skylights need care, discovered that a few weeks ago when the big skylight in our studio cracked and had to be replaced urgently as we could no longer close it, if they are wooden they should be treated every few years (a fact we didn't know) We also had a wonderful 80's green bathroom but the rest of the house was built in 1790 from the bricks of a manor house destroyed by Oliver Cromwell.
Your new place looks awesome and i'm sure you'll have lots of fun getting your new house just the way you want. Are you planning on doing any DIY videos?
I looked at a house once that had a bathroom like that with a pink toilet and tub. The odd thing was the toilet was short. The seat was about 1ft tall.
Great house - I bought my last house because of all the natural light. There's really nothing better, especially in the morning. You MUST keep the pink tub. Seriously. It's awesome.
hey still got the bath room door woes mr. fix it go onling say like craiglists look for shatt proof door glas then get it n put it in your dr. then u can paint or cover it with a poster or what ever floats your boat lol....
Why is this being suggested to me so late? I've Been 'Stargating' RUclips for years. WTH? I really wish Stargate will come back and Hewlett is brought back. Nice house btw. I thought you lived in Vancouver. I don't know why I thought that?
Brilliant! Loved that. Thank you for the tour. Such lovely light, and gorgeous master bedroom. The pink bath and holy door made me laugh, as did the fact Jane has already taken over the wardrobe while you are still relegated to the suitcase - maybe that moving box will be your new wardrobe? And I have no doubt your friends will ridicule you mercilessly for bathing in pink. btw. Time to drop by Dgeek again - Put we have a plan B in place if you can't make it by the 29th, given that you are no doubt currently overloaded with a chore list. You have a beautiful home....eventually you will have a beautiful bathroom to match. Mxx PS; So, will this be the set for your old project : Haunted Renovations?? *Grin*
Very nice place and I bet it will become even prettier once everything is at its place. :) However I noticed at the beginning of the video that there are little doors in the walls and I had to think of the movie "Coraline" right away (don't know if you know this delightfully creepy movie) because there was such a little door too which leads Coraline into a kind of parallel world, very much like hers only better - or so it seems. XD Anyway, make sure that there's no secret world behind your little doors. ;)
That pink toilet and tub. Just. Wow. That's a look. I would make a little library in that nook upstairs. Or does Bratlett need a computer area? And the curved wall? That's all about the drama. You should paint it a different color and just leave it or build in curved bookshelves. :)
Very cool spaces -- love all the nooks and odd shaped spaces and even the creepy half door upstairs. Will your fan cave be filled with fans? Or will you fill it with things that fans send to you? Do you accept gifts from fans? (That would be good to know in case people like me who are good with making things want to share.)
hola tienes una casa preciosa y una familia mas bonita todavía. Aunque personalmente no me gusta vivir a tres niveles, te pasas todo el dia subiendo y bajando escaleras.
is that like MALP on a stick you're using???
lol
Smart reference....
I heard that once you go into the Hewlett House, you can't get back out through the time displacement shield. In his house, David's kitchen is forever-stuck in the 80's!
I rewatched that episode only a few days ago, clever reference haha
Wow, a personal tour of your new house; I feel like I dont need to stalk you any more ;)
Everybody loves Hewlett.
That's not creepy or anything. lol
Pink baths are the way of the future! I hear they're installing them in Atlantis.
I prefer black baths with Neon Blue outlines imbedded in them.
Aha, indeed!
Loved Stargate Atlantis.
This man, I mean wow! how he is in the middle of moving, have boxes up to his neck, and still have time to do a video, and he isn't even a full time vlogger. This is dedication.
Moving house is a pain....but so worth it in the end...lovely house...
What a great place!!! So, it needs a little work, but wow! David, thank you for allowing us this amazing tour! And you're right, those skylights are wonderful. Good windows, too.
Looking forward to the FAN-CAVE reveal!! Amazing home! Looks like it will be a fantastically fun project!
Thanks for taking the time to show us your new house.
Oh man, the packing and unpacking is the worst part of moving. You have a beautiful home, however, and I'm sure it'll look amazing once everything is in its place. Thank you for sharing this with us! It's so interesting to get a glimpse into the House of Hewlett.
I'm loving your Union Jack floor cushion!!
Ooh and the door mat Mars is laying on. ❤❤
Wishing you and your family many, many years of blessings and peace in your new home. And lots of GOOD reno adventures!
Nice house. A tub Rodney can get all his best ideas in. Lol!!
Take care!
Looks like an awesome house and sounds like you have some cool renovations planned. Can't wait to see the basement.
I think we share similar taste's just hope there are know hidden problems plaguing you in the future, best of luck guys.
WOW!!!! Nice house, David! Enjoy! Looking forward to seeing more videos of your beautiful house! :)
I'm fangirling all the way through this video. David is an amazing actor and he's so cool and funny. :)

hi david, welcome to your new house. hope you will enjoy it there. can't wait to see you next weekend. :)
Congratulations on the move its a lovely house and so much natural light and oodles of room.
I think I'm your biggest fan ;/
Loved you from Stargate atlantis, best actor I've ever seen!

gorgeous house
That's a really nice new house, Dave. May you enjoy many happy years in it.

This is a beautiful house. :) I'm glad Mars is ok. Wish you and your family all the best. (and don't get too stressed)
Great house, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing you in Melbourne in October, hope you are all unpacked by then!
Big fan of your work!
Thank you for sharing! I love all the light. Hope y'all are able to finally get settled in.

Thats a very cool house David ! :)
Wow, beautiful layout! Looks like that will be so fun to reno/deco! Congrats and good luck with the rest!
Ha.. Also, I'm in the middle of putting together a cool junk art sign that says "FanCave" for my little nerd room... You ought to look into one of those too sometime! ;D
How Awesome would it be if you could do a time-lapse of you tidying up the house and renovation.
Congrats on the new house. Love the pink bathtub! Can't wait to see the final results after all the unpacking.

After reading some of the comments on your last video, I think I really must be the odd one out. I've only ever moved three times in my life, two that I remember. My hubby and I have been in the same apartment since we got married in August of 2007. BIG movers, we are... :-P
Oh and glad Mars is ok! I know that awful sinking feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when a pet goes missing. Must've been just too much excitement for the poor old pup to take!
Pink bath and toilets that's so Canadian.... But cool!
It looks very nice I love how bright it is what is the yard like
Thank you so much for that. I love getting to check out new homes (the Explorer in me:) and I appreciate you letting us in. BTW: How did you like the 12th Dr's fist episode? I'm on 10ths last season and I'm trying to catch up but plan to keep up with the 12th along the way:)
Sweet, Should be a nice place when its all together. I was going to ask about a room for Mars, but then realized pets get the whole house.
awesome home!
@0:35 that tub! It's so big it could be a stargate.
Cool house! I see potential
Who does that?!
...that was my first thought about the curved wall - a sick, twisted individual I am but apparently not alone :)
it's lovely place, DAvid!
Despite the mess your house looks amazing. I love the skylights. Wish my house had them :)
Beautiful home.
We moved 5 times in the first 5 years we were married. Never moving again!!!
I audibly gasped at the bathtub of horror. WHY WHY WHY.
Urg, so jealous of that natural light. I want to move (and then finish moving.)
Awesome, totally brilliant!!
The curved wall, I will assume it's either structural or hiding a structural support, so, ripping it out? ;-)
Love these roof windows. :)
Edit: Oh. This video is 4 years old. YT recommendations... :D
hey still got the bath room door woes mr. fix it go onling say like craiglists look for shatt proof door glas then get it n put it in your dr. then u can paint or cover it with a poster or what ever floats your boat lol....
That bathtub and toilet are not purple! They are Pepto-bismal (rhymes with dismal ha ha ha) PINK!!! I feel your PAIN, brother!
Mxx
PS; So, will this be the set for your old project : Haunted Renovations??
Lovely home :-)
looks like a very nice house, different from Atlantis but I still like it :) :P
