I love you❤ Kat and and Mark. You are doing a huge the most useful job! And Im into your great, informative lessons! They are like a treasure!Im not gonna stop until I have learned your EVERY podcast by heart! Your podcasts are one of my both the most important main ways to study American and British English.I love America.Thank's God that you are! Love from Russia🤗❤
Dear teachers your lessons are amazing. Will you please elaborate the concept of The where to pronounce The(thaaaa) or the(theeee) hope you understand what I'm trying to ask. You both are amazing. Thanks for the lovely session 🙏
Hello! That's a good question! The pronunciation of "the" can change depending on the word that follows it. Typically, "the" is pronounced as "thuh" (to rhyme with "duh") before a consonant sound, and as "thee" (to rhyme with "see") before a vowel sound. This helps with the flow of speech. Here are examples: - "thuh" (rhymes with "duh"): the cat, the book, the movie - "thee" (rhymes with "see"): the apple, the ocean, the end Remember, it’s about the sound that follows, not necessarily the letter the next word begins with. For example, "the" before "hour" is pronounced "thee" because "hour" starts with a vowel sound (and why we say "an hour" and not "a hour". Another example is "the (thuh) university", because the starting sound is "yu", not a vowel sound. I hope that makes sense!
I extremely love watching your videos . Your gestures and facial language and expressions are fun. So I can imagine the situation more and memories them better. ❤ take care of yourself ❤
I can completely listening all you guys talking about in that video that means my listening is so high now ...I'm very proud with this. And you mentioned that's advanced level...oh nice. My confidence will grow . Now I have to improve my speaking now
Congratulations! For the vast majority of our videos we speak casually and naturally like we do to our english speaking friends and family, so if you can follow along with us then you're doing great!
Hello...I am very excited to be among you...I am an orthopedic surgeon but I studied and I speak French...currently I am learning a lot with you... think you...
How's life".American teacher is showing the day-to-day here . This is what we can't find easy . Points to US. Formal English easy to find . Be natural guys! We need you ❤
Thanks so much for watching and studying with us! We try to give you authentic English as much as possible - sometimes real English is not as complicated as people think!
Waouh 🌞this speech is really so helpful.... If only all the teachers explained as well as you do😉 I really look forward to listening all of your small talks 👏 catching up with your videos is a real delight.... I share them with all the persons I know who are struggling with learning English ✨so that they can see that it isn't all about grammar. Thanks so much🙏
I'm so happy to have found your channel ❤ Thanks for your tips, they're very helpful. I have a question about today's video. Can we use all these phrases for messages or just for offline meetings? Thanks in advance ❤
You could use all of these phrases, questions and expressions in face-to-face conversations or in text messages - they would be friendly and appropriate in both cases :)
Dear Kat&Mark teachers, I've been following up you since I'm going to move to Australia and need to improve my English and speak fluently. You are amazing and help me so much tnx. Is "seeing you was delightful" correct?
Yes that's definitely a correct sentence! More commonly, native speakers are likely to say: - It was so nice to see you! - It was so great to see you! - I loved hanging out with you!
20:44 thank you so much teachers.my kind request ,update grammar (model verbs function) details that's very useful for us. This channel is best way to learn English
I always listening this channel every single morning during cooking and do activities in the morning. Sometimes i will write down the word’s and try to copy. Is it the pdf free ?
Wow that's a great way to study! Well done for making such a big effort! The PDF is for High Level Listening Members, and yes there is a very small subscription of just a few dollars per month to get access to EVERY PDF of every episode we've ever made 😀
Present/past perfect my favorite.Believe me we are lacking these expressions while talking in english.its a vast topic because of both of you seriously and you round it so smooth that at least it's a great help to break an ice berg 😂 for non natives like me 😅😅. I'm clueless how to thank both of you 💐💐 love from Pakistan ❤️🇵🇰 kanwal Rajput 🎉
That is soooo sooo kind of you to say, thank you so much for joining us today! Yes, absolutely, present and past perfect can be difficult to master, it feels so natural but it can be hard to explain in English, thank you so much for joining us today and studying with us! We hope you have a lovely start to the weekend! Happy Friday :)
Teachers, thank you soooo much for the video. I know all these phrases but, honestly, i've never understood the difference between them and how to use them. I really appreciate your great work!❤🌷🔥 I can see the mentality of American, English and Russian people. For example, Kat says it's rude to poke into someone's life. If we are talking about friends, it's a quite usual question in Russia: e.g. Anything new with your boyfriend (house, parents, etc) even at the beginning of the conversation? Are such questions unacceptable between friends in your countries or it depends on how close this friend is? Or they are unacceptable only first minutes of your meeting, before you and your friend start to open up?
I guess it depends on how close you are as friends and how badly you need the gossip 😂 If my friend says let’s catch up I have a lot to tell you about ….. (some news something) I would want to know and I would ask my friend about it. But if it’s just normal friends catching up we might try to be patient and wait til we have our coffees and sit down before we get to the good stuff in the conversation. We really appreciate you and your comments!

Good morning teachers
Hello there!
I had the versant test yesterday, that test is so difficult 😢 I would like to speak like an native speaker 😢😢 but it has been difficult for me to understand advanced vocabulary and my listening skills are awful 😞
Fingers crossed your test results turn out well! A lot of standardised tests are really demanding and designed to push your English to the limit. Improving your listening comes from surrounding yourself and exposing yourself to the language, especially when you feel mentally fresh and ready to focus on picking out the words. If you have a vocabulary diary that you regularly review, that can make a huge difference to your vocabulary too! Don't give up! Just keep chipping away, it's a long journey
Same here's i havent been hanging out these days, because i have been working too much these days.
Hope you can find some time to relax soon!
In fact, conversation depends on circumstances.
Indeed
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for watching and studying with us!
And it's been awhile
Since I could hold my head up high
And it's been awhile
Since I first saw you
And it's been awhile
Since I could stand on my own two feet again
And it's been awhile
Since I could call you
Haha that's a great song!
Yesterday friend today familiar
hi how are you .teacher.? i feel like i haven't seen you guys for a long time.but it 's just been a few days actually. i find myself really
fond of your lessons.
i have been going great lately .a little bit busy .we are making renovation for the house and i have also tried out few recipes . that's really funny . i can't belive that i start to love to make my own bread at home .since i never liked to do it before.
anyway thanks you two and wish you a happy life
This is such a lovely catch up thanks for sharing! Home renovations can take up a lot of time and energy I hope they’re going well and making your own bread sounds quite delicious 😋
Good❤❤
🤩🤩🤩
Where have you been if someone asked me how would I say
Also, is this a positive question
The question "where have you been" would mean that we didn't know where you were, maybe we were confused or worried about you.
It's not a negative question, it just shows that we care about you.
The answer could also use the Present perfect tense. For example:
- I have been working a lot.
- I have been enjoying some time off work lately.
Or the past simple:
- I was in the supermarket.
- I visited my parents in another city.
Hope that makes sense!
