Luke 21 | Beware of being deceived | Know that the kingdom of God is near | My words will not pass away | Keep watch and pray always that you may stand before the Son of Man.
These things you see will come when the day will come when not one stone will be left upon another and not be thrown down.
Beware that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name,
saying, 'I am he!' and, 'The time is near!' But do not follow them.
Do not be afraid when you hear of wars and disturbances.
These things must come first, but the end will not come immediately. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be great earthquakes, famines, and pestilences in various places.
And there will be fearful events and great signs from heaven.
In your patience you will gain life for your souls.
There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress,
with perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves.
People will faint from fear and expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be
shaken. At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption is at hand.
When you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Take heed to yourselves, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the cares of this life, and that day will come on you unexpectedly like a trap.
Therefore, watch and pray always, that you may be able to escape all these things that are going to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.
