My father passed away from Covid awhile back. He was convinced that this coach would erase that past 15 years of of terrible coaches and staff. He did not get to see it on earth but I hope he got to see it from on high. Thank you Volfreak Thank you Vol fans. Thank you UT.
You have probably heard this one, but nonetheless here goes: After Bear Bryant dies and enters the Pearly Gates, God takes him on a tour. He shows Bear a little two-bedroom house with a faded Alabama banner hanging from the front porch. "This is your house, coach," God says happily."Most people don't get their own houses up here." Bear looks at the house, then turns around and looks at the one sitting on top of the hill. It's a huge, beautiful two-story mansion with white marble columns and little patios under all the windows. Tennessee flags line both sides of the sidewalk and a huge UT banner hangs between the marble columns. "Thanks for the house, God," Bear says. "But let me ask you a question. I get this little two-bedroom house with a faded banner and General Neyland gets a mansion with Tennessee banners and UT flags flying all over the place. Why is that?" God looks at him seriously for a moment, then says, "Bear, that's not the General's house. That's mine." So maybe your dad was there in that mansion, and talked about the win with General Neyland, God, and I’m sure Pat Summit and Johnny Majors were there too.
Actually if TN can beat GA and BAMA wins out as well, the GREATEST MATCHUP will be the SEC Championship game. ROUND 2 .. Just like BAMA LSU in the past. LSU got past the 50 yard line one time in the entire game and then got called back for a penalty. CAN'T WAIT. This game BAMA got behind 18 points, had 17 penalities and went ahead of TN in the 4th quarter. TN defense couldn't stop BAMA from putting up 49 points, TN offense couldn't score enough to keep BAMA from catching up. I predict GA will destroy TN but I hope not.
I’m a Michigan guy. This was one of the most entertaining games I saw in years. Vol fans brought elite energy. College football at its finest!! Revisiting it now. No off-season!
How many of you saw Bama’s kick go right and heard John Ward’s voice saying “No Sir-Reee”? Only thought when that ball was in the air. He’s still with us.
This what you call an instant classic. We’ve been thru hell and back the last 15+ years. All the frustration, agony, and tears were packed into this single game. We more than deserve this. #Vols
And lots of bama fans say the refs cheated and those 17 penalties were because the refs pulled for Tennessee. If they made any bad calls at all don't worry because Tennessee has been on the recieving end of those bad calls for years and plenty more to go with it . Tennessee even lost games over the years that they won, twice Tennessee won the game the bottom of the TV screen even said final score and they bring Tennessee back on the field after vols celebrate and call a penalty and somehow vols lose we got a final score for the 2nd time of the game 2010 or 2011 Derek Dooley was coach against lsu and then north Carolina after final score vols win they bring both teams back out just for us to lose so yeah we been on that hell train for years and fans stayed right there with it the whole time Tennessee Alabama crowd reached 125 decibels at neyland stadium
Darn right brotha. Much love to ya man for saying it. From watching Tee Martin and Payton Manning as a boy 25 years ago to this day I’m so happy for Coach Heupel and the Volunteers.
Being an Oregon Ducks fan I've always had respect for Tennessee. One of the few SEC teams that would keep their schedule against us and not back out. Very happy for you guys this game was well earned. Hope you get to the CFB playoffs
I was at the Oregon game 2010 with the huge rainout. Oregon fans super classy and respectful. You could tell they were loving the Neyland craziness. Good luck in the B10 🦆
We lost our fraternity brother this past summer right by campus and it hit all of us really hard. Seeing that sunset over the stadium during the game we felt him there with us in the student section. We knew it was gonna be a special day and wish he was physically with us in that moment, but we know he was watching with the big man upstairs. What a time to be a Tennessee Vol. No doubt this program has turned a corner and can’t wait to see what the future holds under Josh Heupel. GBO.
My mom passed away from Cancer on this exact day in 2020, like many she wanted to see Tennessee beat Alabama, I wish she could have seen this huge win last night for Tennessee, they finally beat Alabama mom!!
I still remember 6 years ago, my dad passed away and then went to see Tennessee unfortunately lose 49-10 to Bama. I’ve resented Bama even more since then, and happy that finally Tennessee finally beat Bama after 15 years of my 22 year life
I was at the watch party at Vol Village. It was a blast. We’d hear the fireworks before seeing the TD because of the delay, but it didn’t matter. We scored so much we got used to celebrating before actually seeing the touchdown. It was an amazing game. That was the most fun I have had on campus during a football game since the 2004 Florida win.
I wasn't at the game, but I had a lot of friends that were. From tv, it seemed like a great environment. Sadly, I had collegue of mine that I used to share an office with pass away today. He had a short losing battle with cancer. He was the biggest Vol fan I ever knew. His whole office was decorated in UT memorabilia. The sky was orange tonight too. All I could think about was him in heaven tonight singing Rocky Top. Maybe he intervened with the Father to help that kick go wide right.
Wow without a doubt the best college game of the year. What a thriller! Thank you for posting the entire game. I didn't get to see any games that weekend.
I'll admit that I was too excited in the moment to fully experience the emotions of the end of this game. But watching the sheer joy we all experienced on Saturday, it was enough to bring a tear to my eye. For 15 years we've been the butt of every joke, on the receiving end of seemingly endless humiliation. Saturday was a return to the glory of the tennessee that I knew from my boyhood. It was fucking beautiful, man. I love this team
We were in Pigeon Forge celebrating my 68th birthday. What a present! Pigeon Forge went crazy, too.... Very proud also of Latrelle Bumphus from my hometown of Savannah, Tennessee. Went to high school with his grandparents. Go Vols!
Once again this team continues to progress & impress from week to week. I am amazed by this coach & the players. I see something new every week! That game was definitely a thriller and had so many big plays. I'm not a fan of either team, but it was a great game, and I watched the replay because I love the sport in general. Both quarterbacks were brilliant, and Hyatt is a special player. What surprised me when watching this game was how well Tennessee was able to run the ball. This made their downfield passing game even harder to stop and reduced the impact of Bama's pass rushers (though even in more obvious passing situations their line did better than I expected). Josh Heupel deserves credit for getting his team to believe after they had come up short in so many big games over a decade and a half. I love great college football games like this.

Not only was this game one of the greatest games of all just from the spectacle, as an east Tennessean and Vol fan, this was like finally getting back at our bully. All the years of trash talk and people saying UT is trash (granted we kinda were) we finally get the right coach and the right team to make UT history. Perhaps even college football history. I hit my head hard three times in the span of two weeks before this game. I was worried that I had a concussion because I had some of the bad symptoms. I was at the TN/Bama game in 1990. With just a few seconds left on the clock. The Bama kicker made like a 63 yrd field goal to win the game. I saw a woman who looked to be in her late 80’s maybe 90 years old pick up a trash can and throw it. I’ve never seen such frustration. Just remember that Bama gets just about any recruit they want year in and year out. The truth of this game is that Tennessee wanted it more. This Tennessee team is NOT a bunch of 5 star players. Tennessee out played, out coached and out classed Bama in this game.
This is why the SEC is the best. The most die-hard fans in the sport. Screw the Big Ten for nearly absorbing the Pac 12 and stealing Rutgers (Big East) and Maryland (ACC).
Damn Tennessee kept on trying to give this game away from allowing Alabama to score 18 unanswered points to tie the game before scoring, to giving up a scoop and score and a defense that has a secondary that can't cover a statue. But every time they tried to give the game away, Alabama would give it right back to them. The Vols got lucky. Sooner or later their luck will run out. Hendon is a beast, the defense needs to start helping him more. Right now, the defense is garbage Hendon definitely deserves to be in the Heisman talk. There hasn't been a better QB in college football in my opinion
@@shanewalton3361 it was pure luck. If the DPI doesn't happen in that last interception Hooker threw, the game is over. I'm a vols fan true blue. Always have, always will be. I love that the vols won, but this defense is terrible. The vols got lucky against Pitt, Fla, and Bama. That luck isn't going to continue to happen. Bama's defense is just a bad as ours. We won't get lucky against GA. Our defense will get torched again and the offense may show some struggles. Kentucky will be a closer game than it should be and don't be surprised if they don't come away with a dub. I hope not, but the defense is scary terrible. They're not helping the offense at all
@@bubwal23xifan bama total defense was ranked #6 in the nation before this game so there defense was not that bad at all Tennessee has scored on everybody they played so far
Didn't get the chance to experience a Vols win over the tide as an undergrad (thanks Kiffin and Dooley) but to be in the stands as an alum might have been even sweeter joy
Thanks for posting this, nice editing as well. I am a huge vol fan and glad we won but the great nick Saban blew this game late and gave us the chance. If they run the ball we blow our timeouts and likely have no shot to win. With that said go vols

It was actually a 47 yarder...lol. Makes me question how old that woman really was, but I get your point.
Just watched this game to see the environment as a Penn state and cfb fan I personally think this environment is in the top 3 no debate
I love watching collage football, and this was the best one I ever saw! Go vols!
This game is exactly why college football is the greatest sport in the world.
without a doubt the best game i will probably ever go to and without a doubt the best night off my life
101,915 capacity crowd. That stadium was rocking!
This is why the SEC is the best. The most die-hard fans in the sport. Screw the Big Ten for nearly absorbing the Pac 12 and stealing Rutgers (Big East) and Maryland (ACC).
I like how Jenny Dell gave Josh Heupel a box of cigars. I'm a Georgia fan, but that was one of the best moments of my life.
Uh, that was Josh Huepel, actually. Also, it's "box", not "bog"
Oh
Oops...
@@bukawright8551 It's alright, nobody's perfect...
Right now, the defense is garbage
Hendon definitely deserves to be in the Heisman talk. There hasn't been a better QB in college football in my opinion
His name is Hendon.
@@danielc.8006 damn autocorrect. I didn't even notice that
The GA game in few weeks is really gonna say if this Vols team is actually BACK or if the Bama game was pure luck….
This has to go down as one of the best college games of CFB modern era
2:46:08 i remember this part live when nessler stopped to let the crowd tell you how big this moment was. the intensity is insane
Amazing how one kick can literally change the lives of so many people.
Didn't get the chance to experience a Vols win over the tide as an undergrad (thanks Kiffin and Dooley) but to be in the stands as an alum might have been even sweeter joy
My family - UT grads had tears running down our faces!
Dixieland Delight, R.I.P., Jeff Cook
INJECT THIS INTO MY VEINS!
Thanks for posting this, nice editing as well. I am a huge vol fan and glad we won but the great nick Saban blew this game late and gave us the chance. If they run the ball we blow our timeouts and likely have no shot to win. With that said go vols
I missed this game so together. No idea about the match up. Thanks for posting this! But any ways go blue!!!
Anyone who says Bryce Young wasn't 100%... I don't know what game you were watching.
That Nick Saban look will always be around in college football.
Does anyone know the name of the song played at 36:54 ?
Joker and the thief by wolfmother
One thing I realize is how the defense showed up to play some damn good football
Goooooooooooo vollllllllsssssss!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yes Lawd 💯💯💯💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿🔥🔥 Let’s Go Vols we ain’t done yet we trying to bring a SEC & National Championship home
this was one of the best games I have ever seen in along time
