My dad gave me a harmonica when I was very small. Probably 7 to 10. But I didn't even know that good music could be played with it. I explored the instrument and noticed the pitching of the sounds each side and tried to make my own music.
Music notes was a foreign concept to me. I knew piano had notes, but never really thought about it. I had that for a few years until it's screws started to come off. And God knows what happened to it then.
So this has been my problem since, I had one from my mum when I was grade 3, I guess I'd try it, only that it's a 32 holes double harmonica

the melody is within just 1 octave,
doesn't use notes outside the scale,
and doesn't change key.

Hohner special 20
That was a Hohner special 20 in the key of A. You can look up on my channel which 1st harmonica to get. Pretty much anything in the ~$50 price range is a great choice, especially Hohner. And make sure it's in the key of C.
The Lee Oscar major c is a great sounding harp as well

How will you know which hole you are blowing without seeing, is there any technique
would tongue blocking not be the proper way instead of changing your mouth shape. I would think puckering would hurt tone
I'm a big fan of using the tongue + the (relaxed) puckered lips. But the simple puckering is the only thing explainable in 10 seconds so i believe its a good beginning for those watching this.

Can I use majar scale to play my favourite song melodies on harmonica? Yesterday song of the beatles band. Fool again song of Westlfie band
Any major key song will work with the major scale. Look up the song you want “_____ song key” and then find the corresponding harp. This only applies to first position.

What does the -4 or something mean
Regular number is blow into the hole that has that number above it on the harmonica. Negative number (like -4) is same but draw instead of blow

@@Potatoincanada201 i've never done it myself so I can't help that unfortunately, I just know that you can buy new reads/read plates. I was on a Lee Oscar harmonica website and the options to buy them are on there. i'm sure there's a video on here somewhere as well though about it. Good luck with whatever endeavour you choose though ✌️
