What are the best places to buy comic books? What do you do if there isn't a shop around you? How do you find comic books? I've gotten all those questions at one point or another. Today, I'm answering all of them. Whether you're looking for current single issues, back issues or collected editions, I'm running down the best physical and online retailers to help you get your comics fix.

his advice is nonsense. A local comic shop is the worst place to buy comics, unless they have good fifty cent bins. Most of the new stuff they sell at cover will never be worth nothing. Also, his assertion that comic shops will buy back comics is laughable. Even if you have silver age high grade marvel and DCs in great issues, they will just tell you they are not interested and not even make an offer. They will only buy the best "keys" at a tenth of what it is worth, and tell you to toss the rest as useless fillers. A lot of comic shops are closing down lately. HIP auctions is the best place to buy. Ebay has too high shipping costs but not bad for cheap slabs.
I wouldn't call it nonsense, but I'll say this: My advice is geared more for people who are collecting for reading/enjoyment, rather than collecting for financial gain. I don't claim to know which underrated books are going to spike in value one day, and I certainly don't have a ton of slabs in my collection. If you're looking for that type of content, I'd recommend Regie Collects, Gem Mint Collectibles or ComicTom 101.

This is a great video with great ideas of how to get comic books! Can you talk about getting digital comic books if you don’t have the space to collect them? Also another great place to read comic books from is your local library! They get trade paperbacks and graphic novels in TOO!
If all goes well with the Apple event later today, I’ll be getting an iPad in soon. I plan to do a deep dive into digital comics as soon as it comes in.

At the store? lol. That's where I used to buy them. I have several newsstands I bought off the spinner rack just after the magazine guy filled the comics and magazines at 7-11's and local grocery stores that came back from cgc in 9.8. ASM 252 (2), 361, X-Men 266, Batman 428, NM 26, 98 off the top of my head. Nice books.

In my opinion whatnot has been an amazing place to buy cheap comics getting into it I don’t have much knowledge of comics and the nets way to get them but I love using whatnot to get my single issue comics

Very good video. The only bad thing about pull lists is that you better be specific, right? If you just say Spider-Man, Batman, and Star Wars that is going to include a lot of comics. Each of those characters/Topics could have many different series and that could add up to big money in a month. I know I miss the comic book stores that have bins of back issues, some boxes at $0.50, $1, $2, etc. I know my local comic book store is about 50 miles away. I remember in the 80s and 90s there were places like East Coast Comics and Mile High Comics. They were great when they had sales.

It sucks for me bc I only have one local comic shop it’s 15 minutes away from me, but it sucks. I do have good thrift shops, but the next comic shop would be an hour and a half away.

I'd say the best place to buy comic books is off the spinner racks at 7/11 and Red & White...and from the magazine and comics rack at the local Five & Dime. Those places all still sell comics, right? ;)

My local store has comic bins for two dollars a book sometimes he over buys and the books don't sell as well he will put them in the bin after an allotted time.

I don't do any online shopping I prefer to shop in person and my LCS (Stairway to Heaven Comics in Newington NH) is wonderful (friendly people, great environment and all around awesome store!) I go there a few times a week to see what's new and they have a section for discounted trade paperbacks as well, I've gotten a bunch of TPBS relatively cheap! I also go to thrift stores too to go comic book hunting and I found a lot of great stuff at my local savers and goodwill, among other thrift stores. It's good to know what stores and services are out there for comic book fans. Love your channel BJ! It's a very helpful and informative channel. Have a good night!

two things i hate about comic book shops are
a. subscriptions i always tell my guy dont keep it aside just call when you have it and if i show up i show up, dont expect me to blind buy
b. be nice on the phone, i always call and the dude and he is like ''come here we will see at the store'' broooo thats why im calling if you dont have the thing i want i will go to another shop, this loyalty bullshit to comic shops is dumb, im loyal to comics not comic shops, i called this one guy before he was like ''bro bro im busy come to the store'' and i have sworn to never shop from that guy because its a borderline scum, i was like yeah this other store has it two dollars cheaper and he was like ''well thats gas money since you came here buy it'' i hate that guy
