    Need to thank Wildwood Guitars for introducing me to Greg Koch. He is probably the best guitarist I've seen. I watch these videos for lessons as well as their shear entertainment value. If you charged, I would probably subscribe. Thanks for all of your time

    In have a "ThinSkin" 62' in Lake Placid blue that Wildwood did about 7 years ago, and I absolutely love it. I play out weekly, and swear by it. If I had the money, I'd buy this ash/maple version in a heartbeat. Great run of guitar!

    OK the notes under the video currently say Flat Pole Broadcaster bridge pickup. These thinskin teles currently available and as described by Greg in this video, both pickups are twisted tele. The thinskin teles right before these, before March 2016, had a Seymour Duncan 59 neck pickup and a Flat Pole Broadcaster pickup. There are a lot of different Fender made tele pickups, priced very reasonably I might add.

    Great! When I heard the specs on this guitar, I couldn’t help myself but to think of it as an American made “Classic Player Baja” Telecaster but with different finish (Thin Skin) and without the S-1 switching. Unless the neck profile it’s slightly different, the rest of the features look to be the same... so based on that alone, it’s gotta be great for sure!

    A totally awesome guitar but I found myself more overwhelmed by the amazing, inhuman skills of the utterly insane (in a nice way) Greg Koch (AKA God of blues, rock 'n' roll', jazz, folk, whatever else one can think of). Great guitar. Genius player.

      @howabouthetruth2157 8 лет назад +1

      +heinz B He's not plugged into any amp, overdrive, or any other device. He's so good, he doesn't NEED an amp..............The tone is all coming out from under his armpits...........You should hear this fucker jam with no shirt on. There were earthquakes reported in 3 surrounding states and electric garage doors mysteriously opened & closed all by themselves from coast to coast. Don't you know anything? ;-) Foolishness aside, for the clean tones, they're using a Tone King amp, but I forget which model. And for the dirty stuff, a Friedman 50 watt head. Seriously. There's videos on this channel that show these 2 amps.

    Hi. Good sound. I have alder Telecaster 1988 year with rosewood Fingerboard. I play in Marshall TSL60 with JCM900 cab. Which microphone can you recommend together with Shure SM57? When I use only Shure SM57, clean and distorted sound is not enough volumetric. I'm not feeling sound big cabinet in my records. And what booster can you recommend for tele: The Xotic EP booster or Xotic RC or AC? Thanks!
    Sorry for my English.

    Is the finish different than the American Vintage guitars? I get that the fretboard radius, frets, and pickups are different. Just curious if "thin skin" term is applied to the finish. I thought the American Vintage models were flash sprayed pretty thin already.

    • @MontyCantsin5
      @MontyCantsin5 7 лет назад

      I thought the same. The nitro finish on my AV52 RI is very thin and chips quite easily, so it seems crazy that these are even thinner!
      I also thought the neck profile on the AV52 was regarded as being pretty chunky, but Greg says they have a small neck and that the guitar in this video has a larger profile. :/

      +Arjan Welmers We use a Tone King Imperial for all of the clean tones, and a Friedman Small Box 50 for the distorted tones.

    The ultra thin finishes on these things crack and bruise just by looking at them. And when you demo a guitar, why does everybody put them through the dime store pedals? Stop with the stupid pedals.
