    Great video, I’ve had a couple Goodman air handlers where the wheel will not come off the motor shaft. So since the motor was garbage anyway, I took it apart to expose the backend of the shaft. I set a deep socket on the inside of the blower wheel so the front side of the shaft has room to move, and hit the back of the shaft to move it through the wheel. Then flip it over and do the same but with a punch so I don’t mushroom the end. A couple back and forth and it’s free and slides out.

    Good video ! But , Heres a tip to make the Job whole lot EASIER. Ever since i Learned this tip i have never even needed a Puller anymore. Remove All set screws, Squirt Wd-40 in set screw holes , Spray wd40 all over shaft , sand shaft as usual till shiny , no rust what so ever , THEN Tap Blower wheel Farther onto Shaft EXPOSING A RUST Line That MUST BE REMOVED & When removed Blower Wheel WILL SLIDE OFF Like Butter. No Puller Necessary. Hold Wheel and use a crescent wrench to grab on Flat side of shaft , Squirt Wd-40 , Twist shaft once , whala ! OFF SLIDES WHEEL.
    WORKS EVERY TIME !

    That really blows (breaking your tool)
    Most times after loosening set screws I put a a crescent wrench on the shaft and hold on 1 hand while alternating turning the wheel back and forth with the other. Usually walks right off

    Great video , how old was it? N is what makes the motor go bad.

    • @HVACRNorth
      @HVACRNorth  4 года назад +1

      Very old, was a public gym early days and was still original lol. Did my own investigation. Bearings are dry, over time the grease gets pushed to the out sides which makes the bearing it self to heat up and eventually fail. Thanks 👍

      Yellow jacket 60590 , SUPCO FBP100. Automotive suppliers have as well for pulley removal. 👍
