  • This super loud and boop-y Vortex is located on the north side of Jamestown, Indiana; a town of less than 1 square mile and less than 1,000 people with 3 Vortex's. This one is interestingly mounted fairly low on a power line pole.
It was very windy so I was holding on to my tripod so that it didn't blow over and the start up of the siren scared the crap out of me which is why the picture jumps as soon as the siren starts up.
You can hear the T-128 at Granville Wells Elementary school, 2.5 miles to the north before, during, and after the test. I only heard one of the other Vortexes during the test and I believe it was the one on the south side of town and not the older one in the middle of town.
Boone County tests their sirens bi-monthly on the first and third Fridays at noon. Tests vary from 1 minute to 3 and could be in attack/wail or alert depending on where you are.

My City of Minneapolis MN replaced their old 4/5 Port Thunderbolt 1000T Siren System with these and smaller Whelen OA2s in Downtown Minneapolis MN with the lone exception of one still standing and in service 4/5 Port Thunderbolt 1000T that the University of Minnesota owns and maintains
