Thank you, Joe!! This was a great overview of Midgard. Also, thank you for mentioning the Midgard Adventures Discord server. Join up today (there's a link in the description). There's something on the server for everyone. All are welcome!!
@@CMDR.Gonzo.von.Richthofen Thanks for letting me know. I have updated the link in the description! Don't forget to use my referral links for purchasing from KP as well! It helps me out! Thanks.
461 pages is definitly "well estableshed lore"! All of these books are amazing and the artwork is out of this world! Thanks for this excellent summary.
Absolutely love this setting. I've run a campaign in the Mharoti Empire and it got very intense. A dragon-ruled empire greedily snapping at the borders of its neighbors, seizing territory like a wyrm stealing treasure for its hoard? Yes please!
I am loving the world book too. It covers all these regions so you can just pick one, read up on it, and run a game there. And each region is so different. Totally something for everyone!
Extremely Amazing, Awesome & Wonderful Midgard Campaign Setting Video Review by you Sir. Outstanding Job. You are very well spoken & articulate on the subject. Bravo!😉😉
As a new subscriber this is the first time I came across this video. I introduced this setting to my daughter as she is a new DM/GM and she loves Midgard. Kobold Press does top notch work and I found a good deal of their books easily surpasses WotC offerings. The fact that Anna B Meyers is the cartographer for their world map is a major plus. Check out her current work on the old Greyhawk setting.
I have been in the Grey Hawk FB group Anna runs. Its amazing work! Also make sure to check out the world map for Midgard online at midgardmap.koboldpress.com
Paizo's running a sale until June for Kobold Press books and accessories. Took the opportunity to order the Midgard Worldbook, and I hope to get more of the books in the coming months. Between you and Mr. Tarrasque, I've been getting the feeling my investment is good.
Can't go wrong. KP is also doing a sale right now as they are moving warehouses so take a look on their site. Also, if you want more lore info make sure you check out my new podcast, That Midgard Show. I do it with Clayton Thomson from the Midgard Adventures discord server.
You are not wrong! There are a couple of others I really like as well. AAW (See my video on Rise of the Drow), Nord Games (see my video coming out tomorrow!), and Frog God (video coming soon!). There are many others but those are some of my top favorites.
about dealing with leveling up too fast. my dnd group talked about start from zero exp.points every time you level up. e.g. lvl 4 is 2700 to 6500 xp. instead of beginning lvl 4 at 2700 xp, you reset the counting to zero again.
regarding level ups and pacing: at my table the pcs can only level up during down time and they need a number of seasons equal the new character level. e.g. youd need half a year for levelling up from lv 1 to 2.
Three months in ToA is an eternity for a person. Those are some extremely brutal jungles, so I think that that level of experience progression might not be entirely unrealistic. Much the same could be said about some of the other pre-written campaigns.
So I think 3rd Party in general seem to want to beat WotC on Quantity with just the page numbers. I don't think any of the books are lower page number.
I agree that modern gaming systems level characters way, way, way too fast. That fast level system works for people that give up on a campaign fairly quickly but that’s not how my groups play. I enjoy campaigns that literally last years of real life time-where players really become invested in their characters. Playing weekly, we level up about every 3-5 months or so. - reaaalllly slow-In my opinion, It’s just much harder to really enjoy character growth-truly enjoying each level- when a character is leveling every few weeks or each month.
Wonderfull to see another youtubet being enthousiastic about Midgard and Kobold press!
Thanks man! Always been a big fan of yours as well!

Well the group has been a huge help to me! Looking forward to playing more and DMing in the near future!
@@GMToolbox hey, the discord link is expired. Any way you could post up a current one?

Kobold Press is one of the best ( IMHO the best ) publisher of D&D out there , their books are top notch .

The current campaign I'm running has been going bi-weekly for 18 months. In that time they made it to 7th level.
