Gotta say this Kirkland BIB was the best value Whiskey I've gotten.....I got my Bottle Free from the Bourbon Junkies.... Thanks again guys, I really do hope it gets better I might crack it early next year..... Happy Week to all.
I feel the same way! I had such high hopes these Kirkland's releases would be hitters like the 1792 products, but evidently Barton is putting their marginal barrels in these products. Great episode!
I picked this up for $23.99 and found it to be a great bargain and pretty damn good. I went back 3 days later to get a few more and it was COMPLETELY gone. The employee told me they got 2 pallets and the local bourbon groups posted about it, descended like locusts and bought every bottle in 48 hours. 😡🤬 He ALSO told me Costco was getting a single barrel 120 proof that was going to be $30. I went every truck day for the next three weeks…including yesterday and he told me they found out that THAT one is even more allocated and our store wasn’t getting any of them…..DAMNITTTTT!!!!🖕🤬🖕🤬🖕🤬🖕🤬🖕🤬🖕
Recent purchase for 23.99 for 1L in Arizona. I thought it was a great value. I did an A/B with WT101 and find it comparable but actually a little smoother/sweeter, less 'hot and spicy.' Cheers!
I got this bottle for 24.99.... first pour, the finish tasted like nyquil... it mixes with coke pretty good but what I've noticed is it tastes better the longer it sits open with some air in the bottle....I loved the small batch lol
I compared this to 1792 BIB, it's 90% there, maybe a bit younger. My friend agreed with me. For $25, not bad at all. And I agree, the small batch got better as it opened up.
As someone with the opinion that buffalo trace keeps pushing out ok whiskey that mostly tastes the same, and nuttiness isnt a problem unless its waxy, this doesnt sound bad to me.
i bought 2 bottles for $27, tasted it ans went back the next day and got 2 more. great stuff. i am not much for fictitious tasting notes, but i got a little cinnamon.
Went to Costco this weekend. They didn't have a single bottle of either. Was kind of surprised. Assumed they would be everywhere. I want it just to like something Sean hates.
I like small batch much better than bib, which tasted “green” to me since I don’t have Dan’s incredible vocabulary. You’re right about small batch opening up. Neck pour was kinda rough but lots better after a few days of being open.
1. You overpaid at $36. I paid $24 in Florida. 2. Nutty isn't a negative for everyone. 3. Banana is the most predominate note. 4. Dan has to adjust his intro Adderall. 5. I'll see you on the next review.
1. We paid state min 2. We didn't say it was a negative for everyone but it's not balanced at all 3. Maybe for you 4. Not really into legal speed at the moment 5. Cya there!
$23 in Wisconsin boys across the pond from you. My first nose and sip I agree immediately reminded me of WT101..... Now I'm getting full on banana bread and its getting better. You guys are nuts.
Well, any four-year old (or older) 100 proof single barrel can be labeled bottled-in-bond if the barrel was aged in a warehouse with the right paperwork. That's because if there's only one barrel, then you don't have to worry about "same distilling season." It's the choice of barrel that makes a difference, and maybe Costco got a cheap price on this barrel because it was only so-so
Was that a moth flying around? At first I thought someone was off screen throwing the cork back but now I think otherwise after seeing it fly by again later at 4:44
Another great video guys keep up the good work. Finally getting home Wednesday from working on the road excited because my bottle of brave little toaster starlight just came in. Thanks for all the content you guys put out helps me keep sane while I’m on the road
I felt rickrolled with that premature patron page at 1:37, but Dan saying "losing a little harshness on the nuts" with a straight face made up for it... And is the SB out yet?
$23 and fantastic for me (in AZ). Went out and bought another, goes head to head with some of my 1792 official bottlings. Don't always agree with the guys, but we're miles apart on this one haha. All good, love the reactions 😂 Cheers
It is not that cut and dry… truth is Costco is not a distiller and does not own a distillery so they cannot produce a BIB legally. So they have to put that on the label. It might not exactly be the same liquid. PLUS many producers sell to other brands… Either way, it is a decent product and at the $25 price point I paid it is great… awesome in cocktails.
Was waiting for your review. Found it last week in FL and pasted because of your SB review. Though I would give it a chance once the review came out but now I will just pass. Thanks Guys love your videos
@@JasonScottCarter it doesnt make sense because a large majority of Michigan's minimums are in line with other places if not lower. The 2 Kirkland bottles are the exception both about 10$ over other places.
State minimums are a bitch. It may be 25 elsewhere but in Michigan its not legally possible to be less than 36. Even at 25 Early Times BIB is better and 3 dollars cheaper for the same liter, 13 dollars cheaper with michigan pricing. . Even EW BIB is better at 19 a liter and VOB 100 proof at like 23 a half gallon
Thanks to your review I am going to skip this one. Bourbon Heritage in September may bring some better bourbons even at the $30 mark. You guys have not steered me wrong yet!
So if small batch was cream of nuts in your mouth is this more of a nuts across the face nosing profile? At this rate I can only imagine what SIB is going to be….

$18.99 small batch and $23.99 Bib at Fort Collins, CO Costco.
Same in PHX
I think it was an okay sipper.... its $28 in Hawaii...not to bad, I didn't expect much when I bought it and was surprised.. Its drinkable..
I feel the same way! I had such high hopes these Kirkland's releases would be hitters like the 1792 products, but evidently Barton is putting their marginal barrels in these products. Great episode!
Is you haven't tried it go get a bottle it's awesome.
Dan, it's called the corn husk. I can imagine you going around sniffing stalks though
When I buy bourbon I always look for something thats "less harsh on the nuts" 😎🥃

i bought 2 bottles for $27, tasted it ans went back the next day and got 2 more. great stuff. i am not much for fictitious tasting notes, but i got a little cinnamon.
I got small batch this year. Three weeks after opening it was barely distinguishable from 1792 small batch. At 60% the price point

Dans hand has 32 scars on it all from cutting himself. Great review gents! Can’t wait for that single barrel it’s going to be the best one!

Yea I would agree on small batch being better
Dan cutting himself and Sean trying to leave when Dan gives his "rose" notes make this video
I like the BiB, especially at that price! Of course, I like the 1792 BIB too.
I bought 2 already. Tastes legit to me . $23 bux for me
Is Very Old Barton BiB not being made anymore? Because I just recently purchased a bottle for around 15$ here in CA.
Almost bought this today at Costco, but glad I waited for your review. Good work fellas.
It’s excellent
The Kirkland single barrel 120 proof uncut unfiltered just dropped this morning! Stoked to try it.
Where do you live? I am not seeing it here in Michigan
Florida
Um so how bad did you really cut your hand with that awsome vero axon?! So what distillery is in thise bottles for kirkland anyway?
Not bad at all. It stopped bleeding before the video ended lol. 1792 makes the whiskey in these bottles.
Glad you took the bullet for me. I was considering it, but I'd rather spend a tad more for something I like.
Dan you seem very happy
You guys are great. I can’t say I always agree with you, but you sure gave me pause on Kirkland.
1. You overpaid at $36. I paid $24 in Florida.

36 is the minimum allowed price in the state of MI
1. We paid state min
2. We didn't say it was a negative for everyone but it's not balanced at all
3. Maybe for you
4. Not really into legal speed at the moment
5. Cya there!
I love this bottle! Its great for the price, NOT a mixer. The annoying factor is off the charts
Nice axon Dan! The belt satin is the way to go.
I like it way better than the small batch.
For real, that long pour at the beginning was niiiice
$23 in Wisconsin boys across the pond from you. My first nose and sip I agree immediately reminded me of WT101..... Now I'm getting full on banana bread and its getting better. You guys are nuts.
The sib is 120 proof. It has to be good right?
I mean hopefully

Barton is definitely not going to sell Costco their prime barrels.
The single barrel is the best of the three in my opinion
“Best long pour I’ve ever done”- Dan every episode 😂 #TeamSean
Is it better than Early Times BIB?
Not even close
Crazy price tag! In Florida it is $25 for bottled in bond $19 for small batch.
The single barrel uncut unfiltered 120 proof just released down here at $29.99 a liter lol
Can never go wrong with a bottled in bond
First pour of it I was extremely disappointed. Came back to it later that night and it was much better.
Was that a moth flying around? At first I thought someone was off screen throwing the cork back but now I think otherwise after seeing it fly by again later at 4:44
For sure some winged creature
And coming up next week Dan cleans his Barrett 50 cal right after he shotguns a George Dickel and mayonaise smoothie.
They didn’t show the earlier footage of them downing a 1L bottle of Kirkland bourbon each.
Dan was just a wild man that day

What I learned is my bottom shelf needs a Very Old Barton, ASAFP!
I might be crazy but I like the BIB Kirkland.
"Buy better stuff" I actually lol! That's the kind of review I'm looking for!
You guys are hilarious! Love the content
Thanks!
So what your telling me is if it opens up you can choke it down ? good one, thank you for saving me money / peace

Holy hack was that a bat that flew bye, Time to release the kraken ,I mean cookie
Damn it’s only $23 at costco here in NV
I felt the same about the small batch, but for me the BiB was much better. Probably won't buy another though, OF 100 is better for the price
Is it 1792 good, no. For $28 it's good.
Bourbon Junkies: Ew! YUCK! PEANUTS!!!
Me: *rubs hands together*
We've said recently that if we just liked nutty whiskey life would be easier
@@BourbonJunkies 😆Join the dark side, we have cheap whiskey!
Starting to question if Dan should be allowed to have a knife....
Nope 👎
Starting? XD
Is it losing a little harshness on the nuts, Dan? Is it? lol. This seems more like a boutique mixer bottle.
Wife just picked me up one for $25. Just have to try it at that price.
Agreed, if nothing else cheap mixer for friends
Keep in mind, if it was as good as 1792, they would have put it in a 1792 bottle........

not true
Man, I really wanted this to be good. I love costco. I have a bottle and it is not good. Much rather drink Evan Williams BIB or Wild Turkey 101
$24 in Cali. I thought it was all right for the price. I got a lot of sweet, underripe banana.
Small batch tasted like Barton 86, but younger.
some how younger and less sweet. Very old Barton is still the most bottom shelf sleeper. The 100 proof should be solid mid shelf

BJ’s re-reviews would be great! I’d to see which bottles got better and which got worse
$27 in CT :/
New batch just released… liter bottle for $25
I would still take EVBIB allday long at 18 bucks
dis a liter doe?
Yes
hmm das pretty dope
Flexing the Vero!! 🤘
Then the Vero flexed on him
I’m just going to leave this here… “Rocket this bottle into our mouth”
Are you going to review Bardstown disco 5? You were right on 4 so want your opinion on 5.
Yes!!
Dude drinks, then pulls a knife... Sounds like my childhood
$36? I just got the bottle in bond 2 days ago for $24.99 at my Costco

My brother gave me this bottle for Christmas. Think he got it was $25
That’s too much to pay for a mixer. On the plus side Costco sells a 1.75l Jack for $25.
