    As a licensed engineer with current rating on the A300 its worth mentioning that Pitot heats must be on before you start engines otherwise you get FADEC (hexadecimal) fault with PW4000 not sure about the CF.

      Been here since the first video on the now-forgotten Twin Otter for MSFS, and have always checked in after a new product is released if it is what I want. There are no false claims, no sponsored videos saying only the good things about the product like some other channels, just facts and a video to go with it here. 11/10 channel

    An Airbus A 300B4 from Hapag-Lloyd Flug awakened my passion for flying at the age of 6. The first Airbus models are still some of the most interesting for me. The perfect mix. Not too old-fashioned. Not too modern. Not too much automation. Not too little. The Airbus A300-600R - iTB convincingly demonstrates how wonderful it must have been to be privileged to fly such an amazing aircraft.

    Watched a cool vid with a monarch a300 pilot. He was saying the profile mode was so bad they practically left it alone.
    When monarch pilots were moving on to the a320 they tried to practice more with the a300 profile mode, trying to work it out in preparation for the 320, but ended up giving up.
    What was also interesting was profile mode in at least the monarch 300s didn’t recognise constraints.
    Great vid as always, love the a300, forces me to not be lazy and plan the sid/stars while not being as taxing as say the f28 or dc6 if I’m not in the mood.

      Thanks very much for the info PM! I too would love to see that video, if you get a chance. . .
      I did wonder whether the VNAV might just be generally useless on the real aircraft; it worked pretty well for me on the iniBuilds A310 so, one of the two aircraft must be wide of the mark haha. As you say though, this vintage of aircraft provides the perfect balance, between a reasonable workload and the flight actually requiring some thought / intervention.
      Happy flying, all the best! : )

    Great review as always and paid extra attention to this one because my biggest issue with the addon is the lack of documentation. Other than that I find the ini A300 so refreshing and a great balance between realism and playability. I think it gives such a great feel for not just the A300 itself but also for that era of jet, which for me is a better experience than having every circuit breaker modeled. Performance in terms of FPS has been fair IMO, and I’m wondering how much if any of that is because it’s a wide body with a well modeled interior, but it really is a solid effort. Hope you enjoyed your holidays and looking forward to what’s to come in 2024!

    happy new year, captain! 😊 great review as always, enjoyed very much. the level of attention to details makes sour videos so unique, like how you avoided the weather. jusg professional! about the product, it would be a nice touch from ini for this price point if they would offer also the Beluga version of the A300 in the package. then I would consider it. like this I’m happy (well, not always…) with their A310, and very much looking forward rather for their freeware A320 update!
    anyway, keep it up in this year as well, wish you all the best! I’m curious when will I watch the first FS2024 video on your channel! 😊🤜🏻🤛🏻

      Thanks once again, Péter! I’m really glad you continue to enjoy the videos, some 3 years down the line (crikey haha)!
      I don’t think you’ll be the only one sticking with the A310. At the moment, the A300 doesn’t offer a whole lot more, in fairness; hopefully, that will change with the future “upgrade” (with failures etc included). A Beluga would be nice also although, it looks like they might be saving that one for MSFS 2024 (based on the trailer) haha! I haven’t had a chance to try the iniBuilds A320 so, I’m looking forward to that also : )
      Cheers again. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer until we’re all taking about MSFS 2024 (and complaining about all the new bugs ha)!

    VNAV in planes of this era weren't really good IRL, so that is actually something believable that it isn't here either.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  5 месяцев назад +1

      That’s a very valid point, NS. I did briefly hypothesise / make mention of that possibility, during the video; the way that the VNAV was behaving, I don’t think the inaccuracies were purposefully modelled but, I could be wrong on that one, of course.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  5 месяцев назад

      Hello Andrew, cheers! Most of the visual fidelity comes from adjusting the weather / lighting in MSFS itself however, for such shots, I do also tweak the contrast a little and add in some vignette (both of which could be done with Nvidia filters etc, I suppose).

      I think that’s a fair assessment: The A300 is a nice addon and an improvement over the A310 however, it doesn’t offer a tonne of extra features / improvements over its freeware counterpart. Once random / programmable failures have been added into the mix (and the sounds have been worked on a little more), I think the A300 will have its own “raison d’être”.

    Great to see you back, and happy and prosperous new year to you. What again though is "flex" for the airbus (I have only seen this mentioned with Airbus, but it may be on other aircraft for all I know).

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Pythos,
      TOGA (takeoff / go-around) would be a full thrust takeoff, whereas “FLEX” is a reduced thrust takeoff (to save on engine wear / tear). The number, eg “FLEX 38”, relates to an assumed temperature and the engine then produces thrust as if it were operating under that outside temperature condition. The higher the FLEX, the greater the reduction of thrust. I believe Boeing (and other manufacturers) offers something similar but, I can’t remember what it’s called off the top of my head
      Thanks very much and wishing you a very happy 2024, also! : )

      Cheers, MS!
      I haven’t tried the Tobii Eye Tracker myself so, I can’t really offer up much of an opinion, unfortunately. From those that have tried both, it seems that TrackIR is perhaps a touch smoother / more accurate but, with the downsides of TrackIR being that there are more wires involved and the tracking is much more prone to “interference” (from sunlight etc).
      I hope that helps a little. All the best : )

    Hi, Paul from VHHH here. Your kit is very good, how is the sim performance currently working out for you ? I just did an A310 KJFK to EGLL TransAt and the dawn live weather was really superb…backlit virga as the sun rose, then ice warnings followed by rain. All very ‘atmospheric’…Matched only by seriously grim and properly sad pauses of 30 seconds plus during initial let-down and similar again when turning for IAF. I turned off FSLTL and Navigraph charts at TOD (latter runs well on iPad anyway). Seeing comments from latest rig owners moaning.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations

      Hi Paul,
      Generally speaking, I’ve been happy with performance on my new PC (especially since, subsequent to this video, I figured out a good DLSS setup on my system). That being said, I have noticed the sim doesn’t seem to be running quite as smoothly of late and very occasionally, I get some significant pauses as well (which I didn’t previously experience). I don’t tend to do particularly long flights so, it’s possible I’m not seeing the worst of it. All in all, it does seem as though sim performance has taken a bit of a hit recently. I gather SU15 should redress the balance a little though.
      I hope that helps a little. Happy flying (as best you can haha) and all the best! : )

    I love this plane, it brings genuine long haul ability to the game. Unfortunately the sounds as you touched on ruin the immersion for me. It's not your system, it's the plane.
    The startup and exterior sounds are fantastic. How they got the interior so wrong is beyond me. The tablet is an option but you can't turn up what is barely there.
    VNAV is interesting, I've had flights where it's been perfect and others like this where it's lost it's marbles. I have read they were pretty bad in reality.

      Hi MB,
      I’m glad you’re enjoying the A300 (for the most part); it’s certainly nice to have a full-fidelity, long-haul option in MSFS, particularly one that is a bit more “interesting” (than more modern airliners). I don’t know what to make of the sounds - they were a whole lot better / louder in my recordings, vs how they were in my headphones at the time. . . I gather iniBuilds have now tweaked the sounds a bit, though I haven’t had a chance to try the update yet.
      I did wonder about the VNAV; I’m sure it’s not that great in reality (anecdotally, that does seem to be true) but, the fact it works fine sometimes and not others (even under the exact same conditions), would suggest to me that there are some (unintentional) gremlins under the hood haha.
      Happy flying, sir. All the best!

Generally speaking, for these sorts of aircraft, I prefer the flight modelling in X-Plane and I would be surprised if things were any different with the A300 (although, in terms of flight modelling, I do find it to be one of the better heavier jets within MSFS).

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi John,
      For what it’s worth, releasing at a later date on the Marketplace / console, seems to have become “standard practice” for a number of devs. I believe that 1) it takes quite a while to get Marketplace approval and some devs would rather release their product as soon as it’s ready and 2) releasing on the PC first, allows devs to clean up any major bugs / issues, again mitigating any issues with slower updates via the in-sim Marketplace. I don’t know whether any of the aforementioned, specifically applies to the iniBuilds A300 though. . .
      As you say, it’s a nice addon overall so, I do hope you don’t have to wait too much longer. All the best! : )

      Hello Paul,
      That is somewhat true, when it comes to wind noise on the flight deck; at higher levels, you’re flying a lower IAS and so, the ambient noise does tend to reduce but, not nearly to the degree I was experiencing with the addon. If that’s what iniBuilds was going for then, fair enough but, some more tweaking is needed I think (again though, the sound levels were much more reasonable when I played back my recording so, perhaps the issue was some “quirk” of my setup etc).

    Okay, it's a beautiful plane, with well-designed systems. But I didn't understand why there was so much praise for the aircraft. What does it do differently from a Fênix A320,0 from a PMDG 737 (besides obviously having a more decent tablet), etc.?
    I can't even do a landing perfectly. I formatted my computer, installed all the drivers, I have an i7 12700k, RTX3060 and 32Gb DDR5, it's a computer that runs between 50fps/60fps. The aircraft takes off and flies very well, but on the ground I feel my headtrack constantly getting stuck. If I click on Navigraph on another monitor, severe screen freezes occur. But the worst is when landing. My frames drop from 40 to 6, making landing impossible. Even though I downloaded the lighter texture pack from the Innibuilds app.
    Honestly, although I think the aircraft is beautiful, these defects that I, and I have seen many other people are suffering from, tarnish the launch. Unfortunately.

      Hello Daniel,
      I pretty much agree; the A300 is undoubtedly a nice addon however, the aircraft does seem to have been “overhyped” somewhat (not the first time that has happened in MSFS haha). I’m sure that iniBuilds will continue to work on the product and it’s quite possible that one day, the A300 will be on a par with the likes of the Fenix A320 / PMDG 737 etc but, as of right now, the iniBuilds Airbus is much closer to the likes of Just Flight’s commercial jets and, even then, is not currently as well polished.
      It seems as though the A300 was a little bit rushed out and it’s a shame that some of the aircraft’s future features, will require a further purchase. Nevertheless, I am still enjoying the addon overall.

    I wish we could, one day, see a FINISHED product release where devs don't consider customers as beta testers.
    Most youtubers will not mention any of it and "hype" it as if it was the second coming of christ. I hate that.

      Hi SAN,
      I very much agree; the A300 was rather “overhyped” ahead of release. Some of that will have been intentional and some of it may just come down to individual experience. Personally, I didn’t experience any CTD’s, nor have I had my aircraft fall out of the sky (though I did read about the issue thereafter); I don’t like / think it’s fair to critique a product, on a problem I have not experienced personally. It’s shame if the cockpit modelling isn’t all that accurate. I’m not all that familiar with the A300 / A310 myself so, I must admit that I wouldn’t be able to tell.
      There is indeed an issue, when it comes to devs releasing unfinished products. Sadly, this practice only seems to be becoming more prevalent however, I would say that there are still devs who do things the “right” way (A2A, FlyingIron etc) and they maintain a solid reputation for a reason. In fairness, I think there will always be some issues with an initial release - it’s the nature of the beast but, I agree, things often swing too far the other way these days.
      Cheers for your thoughts / observations. All the best!

    the performance of this plane is absolute terrible worse than any other payware aircraft fenix,pmdg etc exactly the same poorly optimized like the a310.
    having owned all the inibuilds stuff from xplane 11/12 the planes are fantastic they just dont seem to be able to pull off the same with the MSFS offerings the flight model and engine sounds and cockpit sounds in general just are not upto the same standards as on xplane.
    hopefully it will improve in the future but so far it seems a half baked release its needing another 6 months in the oven its that high fidelity in its current version you cant even put the crew oxygen supply on in the latest build some things make you wonder if the testers even done any testing this should have been released as a early access build.
    so many bugs performance problems etc very poor imo i even tried it on my 3070 laptop its practically unflyable even on my pc it runs terrible also.

      Some interesting points that you raise, Hayden: I’ve always heard great things about iniBuilds, in X-Plane 11/12 but, so far, I haven’t seen anything astonishing from them in MSFS. iniBuilds have made some nice addons for the sim however, they seems to have trouble optimising their aircraft (with many complaining of FPS issues) and I’ve found their flight models to be pretty hit and miss also (mostly “miss”, though the A300 is rather nice overall).
      Given the apparent quality of iniBuilds efforts in X-Plane, hopefully it’s just a case of them “finding their feet” in MSFS and we’ll see the same standard of product eventually (to be fair to iniBuilds, some of the issues may be that of MSFS, as opposed to their own shortfalls). I rather enjoy the A300 but, there is certainly room for improvement.
      Cheers for your thoughts. All the best!
