Hi nick. Sorry I'm a bit late to the party but I've just discovered your walking videos. Im a regular visitor to Devon and love Torbay, Dartmouth, dawlish and Exmouth areas. Your walking vids have given me plenty of pleasure and inspiration for my next visit. I really hope you can do some more trips
Lovely day, lovely walk, lovely company. Looks like you had a great day, thank's for taking us along Nick. A boat right at the end on the pier and you did not review it !!! lol.
Ahh yes Nick & MaryAnne thanks for the walking tours. They are very special indeed & as I listen to the sea birds, the crashing of the waves I can smell the wonderful seaside in all it’s glory. Brings me back to my youth of Walney Island in Lancashire. Funny you talk about Preston as I was born in Preston but in Lancashire along the River Ribble. Great video so please do more to help us through the pandemic restrictions we are are all suffering through. Stay safe.
Thank you Marianne and Nick for taking us in with your nice walking tour allong the forrest and coast line that was a long time a go but I always like those tours with you i can hardly wait for part 2 thanks again Marianne and Nick
Some of your best work. Love these walking videos. I must say you both walk at a cracking pace. Love the banter. Looking forward to the next instalment.
We in the Netherlands have just gone into total shutdown untill 14th of January. Well thats Christmas and New Years celebrations up the spout.Keep those videos coming Nick. Anyway a merry Christmas and a healthy new year to you all.
Your country is wonderful as we visited a few years ago. We in Canada are also getting locked down to try & contain the COVID VIRUS. Hopefully like the last 2 winters it will help us again & be much better than countries that haven’t learned their lessons yet. Good luck & be Saale.
Thanks Nick - nice to see these walks back on your channel, thoroughly enjoyed the ones you did back in the early lockdown. A lovely part of the world that I must get around to visiting again.
Nick, so you have moved from the torquay metropolis, to the expanse of the paignton area ( the better end of devon, nearer malborough, which is great walking)
Nice to see the walks are back Nick. I really enjoyed them the first time and hopefully you can make another series of the walks in your new area. 😀 👍 I would recommend that anyone who has joined the channel recently, go and have a look at the previous walk videos. (I think Nick put them in a playlist), the views and the history of the area (as described and told by young Nicholas (with a beard) himself) are truly stunning.
@@AQUAHOLIC When are you going to put them up NIck? Also how far are you going on this particular walk, just around Roundham Head to Goodrington, or are you going to walk all the way to Brixham! LOL. Keep up these great videos Nick and Marianne, they keep me in touch with the place I love when I can`t be there.
At approximately the time that this was posted I was walking on that beach, but in the other direction and around the back of the Red cliff hotel due to the tide being out. Sadly, no cruise ships to look at. After the ships left it took a while to get used to them not being there anymore. One of the last to leave was Oosterdam of the Holland America line. The night before her departure the crew spelt ' TORBAY WE ❤️ YOU' along the side of the ship by switching some cabin lights on while leaving others switched off. An incredible feat.
As I mentioned to Marianne yesterday we are very lucky to have these places on our doorstep. All that I can see you have missing is a dog or two, go on get a dog, obviously one that swims as well, you won’t regret it 👍
Thank you this lovely tour of the equally lovely English countryside Nick. If my current abode (southwest Georgia) offered such spectacular views and variety I'd walk more often!
Very much appreciate seeing this area. Hopefully one day I can use my passport again and travel freely. Looking forward to those days. Thank you Nick and Marianne!
We should all be so lucky to have a walking area like this nearby. Even if I lived near the beach here in CA, all the quaintness is gone in favor of ever newer construction which ruins the ambiance that once existed. Please tell me those cranes are for some sort of thrill, adrenalin type experience? I hope, for the sake of saving the communities charm, they're not for raising a high-rise? Beautiful walk, can't wait for walk 2! 👍✌
My mother taught me to always have the woman walk on the inside. To be protector and shield.. What a nice walk Nick.. I followed along on goggle maps.. it was really fun.. But now for shower and prep for our early Christmas party tonight.. thanks my friend.. always good to see Miss M's smiling face.. T.T.F.N.
So glad you used the kissing gate, we have been walking the South West Coastal Path and every kissing gate is ‘used’ the amount of times people say to they’re children when they see us them is ‘see I told you it’s called a kissing gate’.
Wonderful video nick and a terrific walk, and thank you marriane, may I suggest nick doing some walks around the ports that you go to 😀 I’m sure there must be many of interest, ie Deauville or bandol in France or maybe Fort Lauderdale or even loads around Britain or Spain !!! Take care the pair of you and stay safe David 👍👍
Hi Nick and Marianne. Boat canopies, Mariannes tree canopies and now house canopies. Even the dog recognised you. Another fantastic walk. I think those big boats in the bay are 3 Princess, a Fairline and a Sunseeker. Great video thanks 😊
Good to see the walks back. Lovely part of the country down there. Quite like it up the road in Dawlish and Teignmouth as well. Hope you both have a great Xmas.
Nick your walking videos during lockdown were a welcome distraction. I enjoyed you commentary and scenery was fantastic. I belong to a family of walkers, my son in law is from northern England and when we visit at least a few days are totally devoted to long walks. The last time there in 2019 we enjoyed the Peak District for 19 days. I will use your videos for reference in the future should we ever make it to the southwest coast of England.
Back in the 70’s & 80’s as a child Preston beach was our go to during the summer most of the holidays were either there or Dartmoor. Cheers Nick for taking us on another fabulous walk.
Glad the explorations are back. Hope the huts survived the recent storms, look mighty mighty exposed. You could have done a quick review of the VWs for Motaholic😁.
Nick, you could film paint drying and make it enjoyable to watch my friend 😂 what a beautiful neck of the woods you live in👍😊 out of interest, when did you actually film this, as the weather looks lovely and relatively warm?
@@AQUAHOLIC Nick, thanks so much for that prompt response and I thought so, time wise that is, as I know that you guys enjoy warmer weather than us here in Edinburgh, but that was a stretch for my wee brain 😂 here's wishing you and all your loved ones a safe and peaceful festive season, Nick 👍😊
I'm so glad the walking videos are back! Beautiful views. It looks like you filmed in the summer which is making me miss the summer as it is presently 28 degrees Fahrenheit here today in Maine, USA.
Thats not a walk its a magnificent trek when you include the headland. The excursion along the pier reminded me of Santa's Monica Pier California. Brilliant. Do you walk back to Torquay?
And, you make me use my phone and comment that I simply love you guys... Here, my TV, laptop and FireTV not working... But, trust me... Nothing stops me watching you're Eps... Nothing....

Thoroughly enjoyed this video. As you walked the path, Inwondered about the history of the area. I used Google’s satellite photo/map to trace your walk and enjoy the points of interest. I learn quite a bit about places I’ll never visit.
Lovely walk for you both. For any film buffs, there is a film called " The System" staring Oliver Reed. It was filmed in Paignton and Torquay. Oliver Reed set up a bar just under Paignton Pier. Interesting film showing various parts of Torbay. When the tides out, the beach is 1.2 miles long from Preston to Paignton harbour. Love you guys.
just found this vid. 15:19 "If you're over the water you're boating" just doesn't have the same ring to it, does it? even if it had been a floating pier.
Lovely walk and video, Nick! When was this captured? The weather and the way you and others are dressed does not fit my image or past experience of England in late December.
Hi Nick Can I wish you and Marianne and all your family a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for a Healthy and Happy 2022. Keep safe and keep giving us these great videos from my `2nd home`?
Lovely countryside. It was definitely not filmed in December though? Some of your foreign viewers may be thinking it looks lovely for this time of year. ;-)
Could we keep the hill climbing to a minimum it's exhausting (watching while on the treadmill (hill climbing program))? BTW: Not being vertically challenged and walking with someone who is, Nick, do you have to take smaller steps if not then Marianne's two to one steps would give her more of a workout than you?....lol... Have a great week.
