'Your way of thinking is outdated'
How can you honestly say that in a pre-industrial society?
Kriysix Vector apparently very easily.
Well, technically it’s a society re late medieval
Because she came from a society where it was outdated
It not even outdated he did whatever would make his daughter happy and with permission and if anything mc seems like the villian here lol
@@HighmageDerin it becoming outdated was a mistake
by technicality shes half elder dragon
That's half true, she's stronger than other elder dragons. There's only one that stands at the top.
errrrrrr, pretty sure that was only for the day she was born..... she did get stronger since that day......
half of *THE* Eldest Elder dragon
@@drstrangejove637 by her magic authority its my guesss it may b the elder dragon gon bc by technicality the eldest dragon god is still an entity of the world.
So she’s half nergigante? :)
Mavis: My father's swordwork was forged on the battlefield, gained through real combat
Mavis' Dad: *proceeds to repeatedly strike an outstretched, unmoving sword*
Mavis: literally does the same, yet it's not swordwork
ah. no you can't see it, their both moving so fast, it only looks like an outstretched unmoving sword.
Nobody said anything about the _rest_ of the battlefield's swordwork.
Just animators got lazy to the point where they used the same animations
Ok Hema fan we get it you want to see more realistic fight scenes.....
This man has literally spent his lifetime perfecting his swordplay through hard work and experience. Under any other circumstances, he'd be the main character of this series. _Under any other circumstances,_ that is. This girl is literally born better than him.
What do you mean? She is clearly an avarage girl
@@janephoenix4530 really AvErAgE
It a cold hard truth that people do not want to admit. There are shows portraying hard work can succeed above all else. However in the real world you are delt the cards you are given and it's up to you what to do with them. There will always be someone who has better Genitics. Be that intellagance, to long distance running. I'm just glad the 'Weeb' community sees this.
@@janephoenix4530 for this they should have taken the other lifeforms to make her truly average.
@@TheCoomer to be honest his swordplay is not very good either..in reality if that was his skill he would be dead...he leaves himself to vulnerable his footwork itself Is sloppy and he has little control.
This is literally Saitama's thinking : "Who needs technic when you have stupidly high strengh
Well, I mean, it seems implied that he USED to use skill, but grew sloppy once he reached the point that he was invincible.
This man knows combat and how much it wears on a person so he chose to set up his daughter for success in other areas so she wouldn't have to experience that. too be fair she is not obligated to choose that path but to say his ideas are "outdated" is a little insensitive to his situation as he probably spent years trying to teach his daughter the skills to enter society as a non-warrior noble so she wouldn't become scared by the horrors of combat and war. that is something anime usually gloss over the effort the parent when though. once again that's not to say that Mavis should just give up on her dreams but there is a reasonable other side to these situations.
"Whether she wants it or not, I have decided that it will make Mavis happy!"
He's saying he doesn't care about what she wants to do in life and that the only thing that matters is what he wants her to do, and decided that therefore she cannot possibly be unhappy because he decided she will be happy "because he said so". It's not even possible to force someone to be happy. That's bad parenting 101 and it's one of the easiest way to mess up a child's life and have them never want to see you again once they're grown.
She wanted to help others and protect people, not too unlike her father does.
He wanted her to be a 'typical' lady in that type of time period which would mean she'd only be allowed to do things dictated as lady-like and elegant and probably have an arranged marriage of some sort, or at least be restricted to who her father deemed she would be allowed love. And be treated as little more than a pretty looking object of status for her husband to show off, rather than an individual person with thoughts and feelings with a life of her own.
Think of it this way. If you wanted to become a teacher or something, would you like it of your parents were trying to force you to become a lawyer? To the point they even actively tried to ruin your chances of becoming a teacher? Or even threatened to ruin other aspects of your life?
Or if you were dating someone, but your parents decided they wanted you to marry their friend's kid now that the two of you are grown because the two of you had a lot of play dates when you were younger and they approved of them, so they threatened the person you were dating? Or lied to them to make them break up with you?
You see why Mavis' dad's behavior is messed up right?
No argument that his... argument is outdated and misguided, but looking past that he is really just afraid of her dying by being a hunter, he just expresses it in a VERY outdated way of thinking.
What Mile considers outdated isn't his drive to see his daughter standing as far of combat situations as possible but him choosing in her stead what would be best for her ;). Besides, it's not even just that he gives little regards towards Mavis's will, he's just denying it entirely as if it was perfectly normal, as if she was but a mere object in his possession... isn't that quite outdated no matter what ?
I wanna see her get serious at least once before the anime ends
Watch as the moment she gets serious the world ends with one swing of a sword
little Dragon lmao could you imagine
It would be hilarious after she destroys the world she would be like oops let me just reverse time
It happens later, dunno if it is going to happen this season tho, there still some arcs before that , it also depends how much they follow the light novel and how much they rush that arc, I could see that being the season finale to be honest
That depends.
Will they have a fight with ancient dragons in this season?..
This man trained ENTIRE LIFE, even found own family...was defeated by little girl...his pride must be...
But that girl a cheater and he knows she lied about being normal it obvious so no he qualified her as non human which she not really a legit human

Really different to how it is in the light novel but still good
Jane Phoenix How does it differ? Please elaborate.
@@andrewmiller5126 in the Light Novel Pauline and Mavis arc are separate, how things handle are different and of course it has it similarities but it mostly different, Mile and Mavis father fight happens but under a coliseum (I think it was) and her brothers were also involved and they didn't know she was Mile and many other things
Jane Phoenix So basically the usual problem with an anime adaptation of a light novel, that they can't fit everything into the anime so they have to trim it down. They didn't trim it too much like they did with Arifureta, did they?
@@andrewmiller5126 well I haven't seen Arifureta or the LN but here is pretty different, still kinda follows the LN but it mostly goes its own way, still enjoyable
Jane Phoenix I haven't seen the LN myself, but from what I understand the anime mainly focuses on the MC's adventure so a lot of other content was cut, including the backstories of the other characters. I still enjoyed the anime quite a bit but I now wonder what it would have been like if they had included all that cut content. I know it would be impossible for a 13 episode anime adaptation to include all of it but I still can't help but want to see it happen. But unless they make a full length anime with tons of episodes like Naruto or One Piece, then it just won't happen.
"I have devided that it will make her happy"
*"THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS"*
His sword may be forged by battlefield experience, however he never took the time to listen what his daughter wanted even if he wanted to protect her from the battlefield...
Alvaro Miranda Yeah. Though to be fair, that's a mistake that most overprotective parents make.
His daughter doesn’t understand what she is getting into. Not like he does. And he wants to protect her
Sir Illuminar The Valient He's going about it the wrong way. No parent can protect their child from everything. And how is she going to learn if he keeps shielding her from anything even remotely dangerous? He learned through experience, why shouldn't she? Also, what he wants for her isn't what she wants. He needs to learn to let his daughter grow up and respect her wishes. She's not a child anymore. He needs to learn to be supportive of her decisions. His job as her protector is over, his role now should be to support her and offer her advice when she needs it. Attempting to "protect" her now is just holding her back.
@@andrewmiller5126 an overprotective parent who doesn't aprove of your hobbies/wishes/desires don't I know how that feels:
the parent has no idea of what to do instead
the parent's outdated way of thinking is why you have no friends
the parent's oversized expectations are why you have no confidence
the one parent's hate of the other parent is what ruins your family
with no parent to tell you what to do or how to act it's left to you to raise yourself
Raven 92 Yeah, I am glad that my parents are relatively normal. In my family, it's my brother who is the problem. Fortunately for me, he doesn't live here anymore and I haven't seen him in 14 years.
Gotta say this is the first anime I've seen where "swordplay" is shown as MC swinging her sword from side to side only
Because she's not a swordsman, it's like playing GTA with explosive bullet, you don't need to aim ^^

My favorite character in this was Mavis and that's because i adore the Dubbed voice she had
I loved this anime
Reason he wants to keep his daughter home: "A hunter can die at any moment"
He and his sons are soldiers and are veterans of several battlefields. I'd say a soldier is more likely to die than a mercenary (which is what a hunter is for all intents and purposes), especially because hunters are usually banned from participating in wars among nations,
Chasing dragon or Golem is less dangerous than fighting in an official army? Well since her daughter isn't that strong, he was right in his opinion, but with Miles involved she's way safer wherever Miles is ^^
@@guifire9747 well they weren't exactly supposed to get involved with the dragons, that was sort of an accident....
yeah...big shocker....us men don't usually get a say whether we fight or not, unlike women. As if there is this thing called conscription....
A woman's tears are a man's responsibility. Take it to heart, this is likely how he thinks. He wants her to be happy, not bear the great burden that comes with being a fighter. What he failed to understand was she wanted to take up that burden, felt she could be equal to it. Forgive him for being a father who wished to spare his daughter any knowledge of the hardships normally reserved for men. It was in a twisted way but he was just showing her his love.

Instead of counterarguments she beats him and thats that ???
yay! feminism!
Well, to be fair he was trying to strong arm her into submitting too. So she just played by his rules. Mile just has the biggest biceps this side of an elder dragon. I think she allowed the whole thing to drag on when she could have won easily at any point because she wanted to give him a chance at winning by allowing him to argue his point. She just had enough when his remarks descended into conjecture of her parentage.
How do you think things were settled in medieval times? Aside from that in many animes a fight between two characters of opposing ideas is the way to represent the cosa of the ideas themselves, would you really sit there to watch 20 minutes of two anime characters just arguing back and forth? Go watch a debate for that. In this case this fight represents Marvis’ desire to either go with his father (which is clearly still there) and her desire to remain with the crimson vow, in the end the desire to stay completely overwhelmed the desire to go, because it was stronger that is why it is represented in Mile, you should really try to see more than what is on the surface.
@@DoReMi123acb Her wining is nothing to do with femenism and he started the fight
Damn the convo threads have kinda died down for this show. This episode was two birds with one stone, took care of Mavis and Pualine's issues, pacing seems a bit off and honestly with 3 episodes to go it feels like very little in the way of plot has been resolved or even really laid... not sure if we'll get a season 2 especially as it's not exactly high ranking right now in Japan.
Bofuri better lol

I honestly thought that half-breed bit at 1:42 was a trigger word
At least he didn't call her breadboard
Where did this show go? What I mean by that is where is season 2?!?

Half Dwarf.. nah man she half dragon

OST??'
Name???
How can people route for a character like this does it not get boring this character is strong for no reason
If the story was about fighting, that would be true. But her explicit goal is to be seen as normal so she could actually make friends (she never had any on earth, because she was above average and a huge nerd), which is the primary conflict of the story. Also, it is a comedy, not an action show.
And I will say, there is an explanation for her abilities. She asked a god to be average in her next life, but never specified what category she wanted to be average in, giving said god a way to mess with her. As a result, because she has half the magical power of an elder dragon, it bleeds into her physical abilities, resulting in her being really strong and fast, but without any skill behind it.
Same way you root for Saitama.
Silly girl, the Picard maneuver only works on the inexperienced.
Lol half breed sadly fits too well in a quite amusing way xd
I wanted 5x or 10x speed.
0:40 your welcome
She followed Edna Mode motto " NO CAPE"
i remember hearing a theory that during the events of the first movie she was approached by an individual to make them a super suit but they seemed suspicious so she decided to keep the design (cape included) with the hope that it would be their downfall and this individual turned out to be syndrome and i think we both know what happened to him
You'd think she'd WANT some form of limitations imposed on her, considering she specifically ASKED to not be OP when she reincarnated.
Technically incorrect.
She specifically ASKED to be AVERAGE.
She DID NOT specify how this "average" should be calculated.
@@Amenti_H tru
Also it’s more that she wanted to fit in so she would have friends because being special made her unable to socialise on earth. The fact she is OP is the reason she has friends currently so it’s not really an issue anymore
she thought she would just be a normal level powered person, its the gods who used a liberal use of her worlds
@@Amenti_H this is why you don't include outliers in your averages

@@l0sts0ul89 i completely agree
The year is 3011. Anime titles have become so long that nobody can tell which is the show description and which is the title.
The truth however is something far more sinister. As planned for by the Mangakas, they have merged to become one and the same.
At least Mavis dad has a decency NOT to say the *"nuclear lauch detected"* word about Mile's chest. 😂😅
I expected her to be sad for being called half-dwarf
all he had to do is comment about her chest and the entire mansion would of been in smoke
Season 2??
Its pretty difficult to tell who's in the right when both points are valid
He didn’t stand a chance. Mavis was just too overpowering for him.
I wonder if she meets with her previous friends.
Why is he using a two-handed sword with one hand
Don't you just love when you just wanna be average but then god was like 'k but we'll make you the average of everything which means you're still leagues upon leagues upon leagues stronger than any regular human. Oh, and even most monsters. Have fun!'
Its crazy that his plan is too essentially marry her off to some other noble thinking that would keep her safe yet in this very situation her friends noble mother was left exposed and at the mercy of a corrupt evil man after her husband was murdered , Its like yeah look how well being helpless turned out?
Well, this certainly is a perfect video to show most things wrong with most isekai.
I fell like the titles like that time i got reincarnated as a slime
LOL I HAVE THE ONE IN English BY Crunchyroll
she is literally the strongest being on the planet when you add the fact that she has 50 percent the strength of every top ranked being of every category. Authority over the nanos is at level 5, half the authority level of a god that possesses level 10. Half the physical strength of the King of all Ancient Dragons, which basically makes her the second strongest in pure strength, but if you add every else, that makes her the strongest.
Her knowledge > all. Sunshine Destroyer!!!
Hm.. So... who is the villain here?
If his daughter's life meant so much to him, he would continue fighting even to the end. If such love mattered in the story such a force would be unyielding... even against someone like her. Alas he may not be able to beat this 'ultimate' threat of OP reincarnated goddess but i think he would have died trying. (Or maybe just have a chat with his daughter to find some middle ground.)
I find it ironic given she wants to have a 'normal' life but seems happy to ensure others do not?
exactly, its so sad when you see it from the father's perspective. He just has to send off his daughter to die because the writing says so.
mile vs ainz?
It's good to see an inferior opponent still holding his ground simply for his sword skill when against a vastly physically superior person with a bad form (despite not really being shown as much as it should, or at all). Still odd how he just gave up his daughter to her friends without even showing a little concern over how she may end up growing as a sword-waving maniac instead of improving her finesse with it.
Wow! He actually kept up with her, but her sword play is haphazard huh? Reminds me of another MC... or just about any OP light novel character that got reincarnated or isekai'd.
At least in this one she's actively trying not to overdo it.
Amenti H
The problem is, even while holding back, she's still too much for others to keep up. I wonder if the god interpreted her wish to be average in terms of prodigies or something. Shockingly, compare to other OP isekai protagonists, she's not that insane. She's not accidentally casting a massive fire storm with a daily life spell for stoves or creating a grand lake by mistake.
Well... there were a few... occasions... in the light novel when she had to cover up for accidental deeds.
Jinsei Cast Actually the god interpreted her wish as "average of all lifeforms", and there happens to be at least one that skews the average WAY up (plus, in general humans are lower on the totem pole in this world).
If I was a trained warrior losing a fight to a small girl, not because of better swordsmanship but because she's physically faster and stronger, I wouldn't believe "I'm just a regular human" nonsense either
What is this anime

Would you send your only daughter happy to the army?
@@12tanuha21 that's her decision not mine. I would raise my daughter the best I can. I'm human I except to make dumb mistakes. But if she wants to join the military as a solider that is her choice when shes that age. I myself will be entering the military soon or at least I hope. My family is mostly military though we have a major background in many branches. In any case I stick to my thinking currently. When she is old enough it is her choice. I will not force my child into things they do not want to learn or is necessary. If they choose something different then its their choice. You should never control your childs entire life. They need to be brought up well and educated definitely. But let them choose what activites they enjoy or could enjoy. Be supportive but also restrictive if its something more dangerous or less likely to do for finical reasons or something. If my daughter decides to be an athlete that's fine she chooses military that's fine. An academic etc. Her choice when shes old enough to critically think. Otherwise I'll happily guide her the best I can because that is my job as a parent.
Yulfine That's very mature. Though I think the problem is that some parents just don't know where the dividing line lies. Mavis is old enough to make her own decisions, but her father still seems to think of her as a little girl who needs his protection. I don't have kids, but I think this may be one of the hardest parts of being a parent: knowing when to let go. After spending so many years raising a child, it's probably very difficult to accept that your child is all grown up and doesn't need to rely on you anymore. Also any good parent wants what's best for their child, but as is the case here, what you believe will make your child happy may end up being nothing but a colossal nuisance to them. Parents can't really decide what is best for their child, only they can. Hopefully Mavis's father learns this and backs off.
@@yulfine1688 except this man experienced real war she didn't people how had to deal with wars like Vietnam had suffered from severe psychological damage I don't blame him for being overprotective.
@@jd2792 a lot of people still do however what's necessary is necessary humans are not meant to be peaceful creatures ironically enough. We are generally non violent nowadays however it's what pushes humanity forward it breeds new innovation. That's how we advanced we have been in a very calm stale world for the most part with a long peace yeah theres always things going on but nothing like the medieval times. Once again I'll reiterate the fact that his daughter is old enough to not only understand and make choices but can also educate herself on what the outcome could be. She seems to have decided that she wants to do that. She more than likely did from a younger age at some point. I would assume her father didn't let her Express herself all too much. Hes too controlling and over protective you are creating a more dangerous person that way. Especially one who can no longer do much on her own. You see something I have learned and I'm still very young by the way. Is that sometimes the hard love is the best option to show you truly care for someone. Being able to be strict and fair. Calm and show authority when needed. Being able to discipline but not be overly aggressive or come off scary. Not only are you building the person to be stronger but they also will have a close bond with you. It's a very delicate and difficult balance to maintain with each person as we are all different. He should have done a begger job raising her not in just his "interests" but hers as well. You want to form that bond with people family or not. Some people do it really well but generally they dont turn out all too well since they only focus there. Some of us are much worse at it but we excell in other areas such as academics or specific trades and skills. I'm still quite working on building strong bonds with people and staying where I can find people who I can uncomfortably communicate with that's not outside of my morals. I find it much more difficult than other people do but I excel in academics and computer technology. I do well with physics and chemistry and astronomy i love to talk about with educated people and theorize with. I'm not the mostly physically active person probably more currently on the less healthy side of physical activities. By no means am I unable to do anything though. I can still run, pushups situps and other things that are more simple activites. Some of the more advanced avticites I can do. Martial arts I excel rather rapidly with being able to learn quickly and hone what I'm taught quicker than other people and i can even teach it fairly well. I do well with weapon martial arts as well. I've become pretty decent with shooting a variety of weapons and i enjoy understanding the inner workings as well. I did not grow up with all of this though. It was difficult not having parents around really and being dirt poor most of the time. Not living in good areas etc. But I'm also much different than most of my family. Actually you would never know it unless you asked really. I'm completely different than my family overall and I dont care really. I dont share a good bond with any of them. Probably my closest would be my younger sister. The world is far more complex than simple ideals. We all have to use different methods and tones and despite good ideals working well it's not always the case and sometimes we lose it as well from stress health issues and more and so we need to watch ourselves and not be afraid or upset if we are corrected by anyone. Older younger or yourself and so forth. That is how you truly grow and learn. Experience. Age may play a good part in that however someones life may have far more experiences in it than mine and they could he 16 or something. They could be late 20s early 30s and have less experience. It varies.

Her approach is kinda the same each time, if I fought her, I would recognize the pattern and use it to my advantage
But if you were an average human there would be a point where it would be impossible for you to keep up, knowing what is going to happen doesn’t mean you are suddenly athletic enough to dodge it, which is exactly what happens here, they are superior to her in skill, but she comes at them with such speed and strength that is so far above them that you can’t keep up. It is like if someone shot a bullet at you, you know it’s coming in a straight line, but it is coming so fast that you just don’t have the time to react.
and then she just goes even faster and you get overwhelmed
