This is one of the simplest tutorials and makes sense! You should make more of these tutorials, an actual paint job you would race with, an example with the spec maps, any other tips and tricks 🙏 The paint time lapses would make great RUclips shorts also 😎
ok so you lost me at about 10:40 into the video, when you selected the green swoop thing, how did you select the whole thing with a single click, when following along when i clicked my magnetic lasso tool it makes me trace the outline. can someone educate me on what im doing wrong?
When you take JRT Photo's, do they have the iRacing watermark? I am assuming they do and you just crop it out. That however changes the overall size of the photo. Are you photo's from JRT still 1920x1080 even after the crop somehow? I hope this makes sense lol. BTW thanks for the vid
Yes. You can place your paints to your specific paint subfolders in your iRacing folder and you'll be able to see the paint on your car but no one else will be able to.
@@MattinhoGG You can upload it to your private trading paints section so that nobody else can race with your paint but it will show up for everybody else on the track
Hi, i ust ot here trying to understand how paintjobs works and well thanks for the tutorial. Unfortunately i was intrested in spec map part. I wonder how to use it because, i love my iRacing paint on my car... buuuuut i wanted to get some matte/chrome/gloss effects on it and figuring out on my own is kind of a struggling. Also, i was wondering wich was best between photoshop or directly integrated Trading paint pro mode.. Is trading paint pro paint builder less complete as i think you may have tried it. Anyway thanks for the help on basis!
Is there any way to edit the scheme after you’ve saved it? I put my scheme on and came back to the sim a few days later and realized I left off our team logo and wanted to reposition the numbers a little, but it doesn’t seem to give me the option to edit the layers, it’s made the entire graphic one layer. Just curious if I can edit that or if I have to re-design the scheme all over just to move those things
You'll have to save the photoshop file to retain layers. TGA and PNG files are both raster images that have no layers saved unfortunately. You can always add stuff to TGA/PNG files but you can't move the layers that are already there.
Very helpful Andrew, thx! Question: How do I eliminate jagged lines when using multiple colors & in general? Working with basic iRacing paints schemes & I can't get around the jagged lines.
Just starting out here. Can you give a friend your trading paint account info to have them create it for you and send you the template after they are done? Or do you have to have iRacing installed. Great video and many thanks.
hi, thanks for this vid. do you know how to paint a car in shiny chrome color? i can't find a proper instruction anywhere. maybe you are my chrome-livery-wizard;o) thanks in advance!

this tutorial allowed me to put a pic of my cat on the side of my car and I won the first race after doing so, thanks Andrew
Glad to hear it! congrats!
Oh my god! That's such a good idea😀
Andrew.. Your iRacing paint tutorials are the best I've found. Thanks for doing these and putting them out there for others to learn.
subbed as this tutorial enabled me to actually get a car painted in difference to others who i found quite difficult to follow
Awesome review! Thanks for sharing! Have a great week my friend!
Late to the party. Thank you for this, easy to understand, others tuts have confused the hell out of me.
I'm a simple man, I see a Robert Wickens hat, I give a thumbs up
Thanks! Great vid, the first paint reminds me of the Styrofoam cups with the swoosh from the 80’s lol.
thank you so much! fantastic tutorial
Great video. Thanks. I use Affinity Photo. Great app for doing this kind of work.
This has helped me so much, Thank you!
The "crazy colors" are linked to the channels, a more efficient way to select the color you want as it provides better alphs support through grayscale
Great tutorial 👍🏻
Did everyone missed that he has $1700 of iRacing credit? WOW.

Do you need to upload it to Trading Paints in order to use it in iRacing? Say if I wanna have a livery just for me for example?
Yes. You can place your paints to your specific paint subfolders in your iRacing folder and you'll be able to see the paint on your car but no one else will be able to.
@@Hi.Im.Andrew so I'm not able to have it visible for everyone but only used by me?

Could be something to do with your graphics settings. Check anti-aliasing settings and make sure you are using 2048x2048 texture setting as well.
How can I get in touch with you you ?
How did you get rid of the white background on the HJ logo?
Right click on the layer>Rasterize layer. Then use the magic wand selection tool to select and delete the white. or import png image files
Is there any website you use to get the graphics and logos? I’m having a hard time trying to find some of the things I want on google images
Jake Dess for logos I cant find I will try my best to recreate them. But yes, most of my images and logos come from google.
What photoshop program is this?
It was Adobe CC 2020

Jeremy Pray you should just be able yo have your friend design you a paint, send you the finished file, and you upload that.
Andrew Fawcett thank you!

Thank you for the great tutorial. Where did you get the Apple logos, reference material, and everything you need for the car?
Matt Shaffer google images for most of it, for the ones I couldn’t find I created them myself.
When you say pit box it is not self explanatory!

I don’t know why you like those ugly Apple designs. That whole car looks terrible...Howeverrrrr, thanks for taking the time to make a tutorial! 🤛🏼
