This game has been super fun! I definitely think that ShillUp was a little too hard on it. I'm trying to hurry up and beat it before Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty comes out on Thursday haha

@Couch Coop Skillup was saying the level design felt too random, like certain aspects of the levels didnt mesh together well. And then he was saying the story was bad and the open world sucked because of the respawning robots.
And I am about to fight the twins right now. I fought one by herself and went up an elevator and watching a cutscene right now haha

The soundtrack is really good especially when your fighting a bunch of enemies and the music starts up. Just started playing. I’m enjoying so far idk why people are hating on the game it’s enjoyable and fun
That euro techno goes crazy some times, I recently went in with full headphones 🎧 and the games BANGING! Digging the contemporary stuff also, opera etc retro Russian pop
I get four different games when I think about what this game has going for it.
It's like a solid amalgamation between FarCry, Fallout, Generation Zero, and Cyberpunk 2077. The House Music from the Testing Grounds labs, the song from the Hog7 Hedgie boss fight, this one song in one of the camera towers that SHAZAM couldn't find. When I tried to SHAZAM it, it came back with 5 different songs. Makes me wonder if Mundfish has an In-house DJ that mixed and composed that particular song.
Honestly, I'm happy to see you review single player games. You show a level of appreciation that is not found in other reviews. You do whatever you want man, there's only so many couch co op games. And when they come out, we will know who to TRUST AND who to turn to (you btw). I especially like how you will do patch updates or even review a game late. So many games are destroyed by these terrible basically beta version releases. The WORST version of the game, is the one that is reviewed by mainstream reviewers.. and they have to, I get it. You come from a place of love, you dig this stuff. And we dig you for it. Don't ever change.

My friend! Can you tell me where you found that ost from 0:27 to 0:54 ? That's the track from atomic hearts polymer vaccination trailer. I've searched so many AH tracks but can't find it. Great review too, I wish they could change the hud setting for oled TV's, souls games have a great option where your hud only appears during combat. Huds can burn into oled TV's after continuous time on screen. Dead space was great since there was no hud at all.

I guess I was really really lucky. The only bug that i had on pc pass for xbox version was that I couldn't unlock the car in the beginning, but I fixed that by just reloading the game. I hope this patch fixes the glitches and lag for you guys! This game is really fun to me! :)
If played a few levels of this unusual game I'm loving it so far gotta give respect to reviewers who can get past bias and just enjoy this wonderful crazy game

The one complain I got is that they give me all this abilities to use but I can only equip 2 at a time without counting shock. I want to be able to switch to shield, telekinesis and either polymer jet or frost at once. I never liked that about games.
This game is incredible. I felt very disappointed in the first hour or two but the music and atmosphere kept everything rolling. Then i got outside and it became amazing. The more I looked around, the more amazing it got. And at that point I got excited when I found another underground area like the one that annoyed me at the beginning. That's how I know they did it right

There seems quit a bit of negativity surrounding this game. The reviews on average are not bad, but there is a lot of emphasis on the not so good stuff, moreso than other games it seems. Especially the combat, which is not bad at all. I have played a few hours and having a good time, the world is immersive and beautiful, the art style very creative, the story is interesting enough and there is some humor in it (although some dialogue between the main character and your robot voice ally is a hit and a miss) The optimisation is out of this world, I got 144 fps on ultrawide max settings (RTX 3080) while having graphics that are among the best I have ever seen. All in all I think this is an above average game, certainly an 8, maybe higher.
new patch just dropped also, how's the ultra wide support ? man it must look stunning ! shines at even 60fps and 1080p!

guys what is going on with this game. I have downloaded 2 times 70gb update, one in 2 days, what is happening, why do I have to download 70gb continuously for the updates?. You can't make the update pass only the files it wants. ? On PC Gamepass for 2 days it downloads updates of 70gb each..

Mr Cooper lovely review, thought share, and discussion piece. However my ONLY regret/ Come on now..... moment is you ignoring the elephant in the room this game has aspects of Half Life 1 and 2 as well as Dishonored and will ALWAYS be compared to the Bioshock games... on THAT front compared to all the games that inspired and created this game how did they do? To YOU good Sir :). That was the biggest question I had coming in and I still have it as you did not go over it in your review and thoughts on this game. At least the game looks like fans of those 3 games would be happy musing around in this world.
there's not enough of a 'working' stealth mechanic to put near anything from Arkane, i did think the lack of alert cones/mapped vision would point to a silent foot perk or something, maybe i dig out the old orange box for a 2023 review ? eps 1+2 were very good ?

I’m on XSX with VRR so all I need to be able to jump back in and play happily is an FOV slider.
Everything else is beautiful.
Also it might help reviewers and gamers to imagine that in the mother tongue the voice performances are far more nuanced.
The protagonist for example, is not simply a douchebag.
He’s a frightened and bewildered man who, despite his training and toughness, is in over his head and so uses nervous humour to try to relax but betrays his fear and confusion with angry outbursts.
This required interpretation, not straight translation, but expert interpretation is itself extremely nuanced, time consuming and expensive so Mundfish decided to wing it.
They shouldn’t have but still, they did not simply employ “shitty writing” as 90% of folks are assuming.
What gets lost in translation can be found with interpretation and historically the difference between the two has meant anything from confusion to war.
Still a failing of the devs but not as clumsy a mistake as everyone thinks and it might help for folks to realise this.
i was thinking..... there's no way the Russian version has a lead like that! Thanks for confirming. I really enjoyed how the game gives a text translation on in game written words, I'm tempted to switch the audio language to native and have subtitles, I remember doing this for Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R

During times of war pursuits like sport and art can help to connect humanity through shared experience.
An example which might translate a bit awkwardly is when we have a headache we shouldn’t hate aspirin. In this example war is the headache while shared creative endeavours are the aspirin which might help a little bit to make us feel better.
Those who hate art alongside their enemies are rejecting opportunities to connect and find common ground at a time when that is crucial❤

Skillup's criticisms were mostly right if a bit harsh. The open world is really terrible, the combat difficulty is tuned a little too hig. Where I disagree with him is on the storytelling and art direction.
The English localization for this game has some giant issues. The voice acting is of a level of quality you might have expected about 15 years ago. A lot of the jokes that Russian users might be chuckling about just don't land.
Some people find the protagonist unlikable. Personally, I don't need to like protagonists to be interested. It's true that he's not very bright l, but the whole point of the story is that he's a manipulated dupe, a step behind everyone else at every turn. He's the perfect secret policeman, violent on command, docile and unquestioning towards authority, literally brainwashed to the point where his access to reality is shake at best.
This is an interesting choice as a game protagonist, closer in spirit to something out of Kafka, a man trapped in a mental and physical maze, groping uncertainly. Nothing could be further from the power fantasy Western AAA games offer. I appreciate that difference and applaud the artistic choice however "unlikable" it ends up being.
I think Skillup is totally wrong about the art direction. The Soviet retrofuturist esthetic provides a cohesive look for this game,as well as supporting the story'sthemes. This is a game about noble utopian ambitions gone horribly wrong.
In short the overall package is uneven but
the high points make the low points worth enduring. I especially like the theater level.
Confession! I didn’t watch skills ups review, I’m pretty stunned he didn’t like the presentation!!!! I thought he’d moan about some broken end game + mechanic he’d found🤣 the art direction and sound are some of the genres strongest. I review films on the channel also. ‘Solaris’ the original against the awful Clooney remake is a good example. Lost in translation doesnt even come close. Remember Skill took loads of Gearbox money and told us Godfall was a worth a look !!!

Incredible. They SAY they might bring it to vr. I can't imagine they could... But... They did with Resident Evil 7 and more impressively RE 8/Village. So, I'm waiting as long as I can to play it. Glad I held off on resident evil 8 and played it on PSVR2

I don't care what anyone says the enemies are way too spongy. I seen broomsticks video yes but that's a problem that you're basically forced to play a certain way to defeat enemies in a timely manner robs you of any real freedom to play how you want
'timely manner' does have variety! im more concerned with the random blueprint thing !
I'll wait for a sale or when it gets PSN game of the month.
(Oh and yes: I do boycot MS and gamepass but thats already for ages and not due to this game lol)

I was offered an extention for €40, on the condition I would add automatic pay by creditcard. When I asked how to pay without using credicard they start "helping" me, forcing me to cancel my subscription and directly renew it... For €45...
Still a discount but not what they initialy offerd me. When filing a complaint I was told the €40 offer was never valid and my creditcard would have been charged the full €60 but it was too late to get the €45 offer as well!
Long story short: I waited a week or 2 without subscription and got a reintroduction offer of €30... So from now on everything I do with PSN is only on deep sale.
Maybe the VR2 is going to be an exemption lol.

I have enjoyed the few combat scenarios I have tackled. Something felt off at first and then I turned the sensitivity down on the controller and it felt just right. They did a good job on the melee. It gets crazy when your fighting like 3 robots..your panicking and jumping and you swing just right and smash them in the head..good stuff
that leg amputation though 🤣

@Couch Coop I have had a few of those, one guy did a spin jump kick and my melee hit him just right in the hip and his entire plant leg ripped off and when his head got the floor he died. I didn't Jill him, the floor did
Enjoying this game so far, I'm still in the bunker, so this video has given me the impetus to plough on through. I do think the Blue prints are random though.

I feel like loot boxes in the open world randomly give you those blueprints, i got the ak right off the jump, but i was wondering about the fat boy when i got it behind a random house in a common box
@@rockettedelux9103 i found every other weapon but the ak. I was getting doubles too. 2 pistols, a bunch of melee but no damn ak. I heard its a glitch or something and started a new game.
Those blueprints are random ?!?! Wtf so I should have AK by now ? Was thinking it was late game weapon 🤣
It's one of the few i have, i dont even have the pistol blueprint, and i get doubles constantly. But i would spend time mindlessly opening shit on the surface till it pops up if i were you unless there is a specific way that I'm missing. im not sure

Good review but the actual game....Enemies are pretty dull? Just charge towards you. It looks a bit like Skyrim combat? Something I was never a fan of. Looks like they spent all their time on making the game look pretty and the architecture/setting etc. and not thinking about game mechanics and the gameplay loop. Whats new and good about this other than the actual IP? I'm not sure on this one. Literally only just about to finish Elden Ring (I got it at launch lol....) New Zelda coming out and I just bought metal gear solid revengence on steam sale which I'm keen to max out the graphics on...
