At 13:00 if you duct tape your new hydraulic hose to the end of the old brake line and pull the old line through the frame is also an option. Just had to clean the hose of tape residue. But your video gets the job done!

I just installed the brakes and it was super easy thanks to your clear instructions. Note to others: the kit comes with all bolts already locktite coated. The only mishap was I tried taping the cables together to do the pull-through, and they separated in the downtube, but it was not that hard to wiggle and jiggle it up the tube and navigate it out with my pinky finger. Performance review: completely changed the way I can ride the bike, seem to be quality components, five stars.

Good job mate...so many Himiway users have said that with some hindsight, especially those with camping gear or cargo trailers loaded, would have definitely gone for the hydronic upgrade.

Very helpful walk through install. Surprised you used the existing rotors. Same size, true, but already beded to different pads, and almost certainly contaminated with waxes, oils, silicone. Were they same thickness? Did you at minimum scuff them to re-bed the new pads? I would just use the brand spanking new rotors, often a different alloy suited to hydraulic calipers/quad piston/different pad friction material. The front wheel takes about 3 minutes to replace and torque new bolts, even if the rear is obviously more work. Anyway thanks! Last question: Did the Zoom H876E come with plastic levers or aluminum? The H890E is aluminum but they are huge! I want the 3-4 finger levers if possible.

I love you video, I had a ebike just same as yours with fat tires and same break but the back break is not holding I don't know what to do I made a complain to the company and still waiting for their reply because I both the bike with this issue

DAMN nice work. Most of the other conversion videos are for a hybrid system - not real hydraulic brakes. I am not trying to start an argument, but I noticed you do not torque anything and do not use a thread locker. I do both (mostly because I have been told both are important). I am not a mechanic, but I do all my own maintenance on my eBike and motorcycles. I am just curious about your position on the issues of a measured torque and thread locker.

We generally like to utilize those parts with the dried pre-ready thread lock.
You are correct. I don’t generally work with a torque wrench.
It’s been a conscious effort to operate “in the yard” and the approach and stance we take is that this can be done without high end tools by those who are willing to try.
Make no mistake though, a dream garage with tech shop, digital manuals and a spec catalog from the Ebike Gods is a common thought.

The bolts come pre-coated with thread lock

thanks for the comprehensive video! Really helped me a lot!
So how satisfied are you with the break kit after almost a year?
It has some mixed reviews on Amazon and I originally had the Magura MT5 E in mind, however they are more expensive and require a 2 pin adapter...

We have used them on several e-bikes. Aventon brand used them on thousands of units as well a Lectric. They stand up

@@ElectricAllWheel I just got the Zoom brakes and the installation was fairly easy, especially after your great video.
The front break works like a charm, the back break however blocks once I break. So there is no immediate effect after I release the break.
Do you have any idead what the problem might be? It was a new break set and installation went smoothly.

@@winddancer77 will you please describe what you mean blocks. We would definitely suggest archiving your issues to share with the vendor if you have a defective product

@@ElectricAllWheel When I press the brake the system brakes immediately, I let go of the brake but the brake doesn't release and continues to block. After waiting a while, it loosens so much that it "just" drags.

When you added your brakes, you have any trouble with your motor cut off on the brakes working properly? Curious since these are aftermarket brakes

No problems. Good practice to make the handles will kill the motor before install

So my main thing is would there be any issues without the stem extender? Or is that just a personal preference. Like will the cables be all over the place if I don’t get an extender

    • @ElectricAllWheel
      @ElectricAllWheel  Год назад

You may have to cut the line which would mean bleeding the brakes.

    • @ethanbledsoe8195

But like the cable being a tiny bit long is ok right? Like everything’s still gonna run smoothly until I get an extender?

I wish that just one of you guys could show how to freaking install these brakes correctly all of you have different methods when it's time to put that cable inside your brake lever all of y'all say to push it in their deep and stuff will mine doesn't go in deep it barely sits on the edge and then the little thing that we used to 8 mm wrench to tighten doesn't go in but halfway at the Titus and then my caliber doesn't squeeze at all
