Lake Berryessa A Horrible Mistake (ALMOST) 1 Lake, 2 Experiences RV ROAD TRIP 52

A 40th Wedding Anniversary getaway gone wrong by booking the WRONG CAMPSITE at Lake Berryessa. What was thought to be a Lakeside campground turned out to be a campsite near the lake more attuned to boating campers whose marine vessels are berthed at Pleasure Cove’s impressive docks,rather than an RVers campsite for the typical fishing, swimming, lounging experience.
A HORRIBLE MISTAKE!
On day two we, The Lost RVers, decided to explore other areas of Lake Berryessa and found Spanish Flats, a Federally owned, County operated, Privately run campground for boondocking/ dry camping RVers who want the true LAKESIDE RVing experience.
We found it!
We packed up, hooked up and beelined out of Pleasure Cove then headed back to Spanish Flats, site 43, for a truly magnificent stay LAKESIDE with easy access to the lake and all the amenities offered by a lakeside RV camping experience.
In our case it was fishing, RV COOKING, relaxing and mainly lounging. Trout, Kokanee Salmon, Catfish, Bass and Crappies fill this lake although the one hooked trout I caught broke free, but, it was a big one and even though it became “big fish” story, it was good enough for us.
One lake, two experiences is this videos theme for sure.
We recommend Lake Berryessa Spanish Flats for other RVers to try out if lakeside RV camping is for you and if you happen to have a boat Berthed at Pleasant Cove, lucky you, that too is a nice spot.
